The Immortals Who Make History

I have always been fascinated by immortal people who make changes to decide human history. Their stories must be amazing as well as what figures they have been in their lifetimes.

  • A vicious Cro-Magnon caveman leader who was gifted with immortality via radiation from a discovered meteorite and spent his 50,000 years of life marching through time in many guises, each more dangerous than the last. He was once Egyptian pharaoh Khafre, Roman Emperors Caeser and Licinius, Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, the notorious Blackbeard, and Vlad the Impaler. He worked as close friends and advisers to the likes of conquerors such as Erik the Red, Napoleon Bonaparte, Ra's al Ghul, Otto von Bismarck and Adolf Hitler. He was the court physician in France, and even used the French royal family for syphilis experiments. He invented the carving knife, fought alongside Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt from the Pharoah's rule, and survived the destruction of the library of Alexandria. It’s even implied he may be the Biblical Cain, the first murderer of his world.

  • Born as Klarn, a caveman leader of the Bear Tribe, who became a mortal enemy of Vandar Adg, later known as the evil immortal Vandal Savage. Immortal Man fashioned an amulet from a jewel from the same meteorite that gave Savage his immortality and discovered it gives him the power of resurrection. Over the millennia, Immortal Man has been a Babylonian, an Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Carthaginian, an Arab warrior and a knight, a Mongol and many other people to combat Savage and his evil.

  • Over seven hundred years old and still kicking by bathing in the Lazarus Pits, Ra’s acts as the enigmatic ruler of the League of Assassins and one of Batman’s fiercest villains. The New 52 Comics implied he was responsible for the Great Fire of London, the cholera epidemic of 1832, and training and giving orders to Gavrilo Princip, the assassin of Franz Ferdinand, to kick off WWI.

  • A centuries old tactician whose origins are shrouded in mystery. He lives indefinitely due to a life-extending alchemical potion. He has fought alongside leaders such as Atilla the Hun, Alexander the Great, and Napoleon Bonaparte and employed the minds of Galileo Galilei. Louis Pasteur, Francis Boyle, and Antoine Lavoisier to help recreate his immortality formula.

  • A gender-changing Immortal who participated and helped shape many events in his history from fighting in various battles alongside many notable figures across history, founding nations such as Britain, and creating cultural movements like the Renaissance. He has been a slave, a soldier, a whore, a scholar, a thief, a warrior, an artist, and an explorer in his long life. Born as Bio in 1260 BC, daughter of the gender-changing Greek seer Tiresias of Thebes, she inherited his gender-changing abilities and was sold in 1240 BC as a favorite sex slave to Egyptian Pharaoh, Ozymandias. He became immortal after bathing in the pool of sky-blasted crater and fought for the city of Troy in 1184 BC in the Trojan War before escaping with Aeneus to establish the Roman Empire. He left with Aeneus’ grandson Brutus to kill giants and establish a new capital in a land eventually christened Brutain and later Britian. She left and eventually returned to Italy in 774 BC and cause rift between Roman Empire founders Romulus and Remus by sleeping with both. Joined Babylonian Queen Semuramis in her conquest of India in 700 BC and later fought for Persia against Greece at Marathon before eventually joining Alexander the Great to conquer the known world. Orlando spent the next two centuries reading in the Library of Alexandria before returning to Rome and escaping punishment for being in the Spartacus slave revolts. He eventually joined Julius Caeser in 55 BC to conquer Britain and eventually became a soldier of Marc Antony. After Antony died, Orlando drifted over the years as servants of various Roman Emperors and eventually witnessed the fall of Pompeii. He saw the fall of the Roman Empire and the rise of King Arthur as the lover of Merlin while fighting alongside him and stealing Excalibur after Arthur’s death. He later left for Denmark as a sword-for-hire to help kill the monster Grendal before meeting Beowulf and eventually accompanied Siegfried to slay the Dragon before witnessing the end of the Norse Gods. In 764 AD, Orlando joined the Knights of Charlemagne as Roland and eventually joined the Saracens. Orlando then met the concubine Scheharezade and her Caliph of the 1001 Arabian Nights before meeting and falling in love with the Sailor Sinbad and being heartbroken when he died. He later joined the Christian Crusaders when he liked their outfits. He eventually freed Richard the Lionheart from prison in the 1190s and went to Constantinople in 1450 AD before fleeing the Byzantium Empire’s downfall to Italy. He started the Renaissance using manuscripts he stole during the Byzantium downfall and eventually posed as the Mona Lisa during a gender transition. In 1530’s he acted as an apprentice to Johannes Faust and got reacquainted with Helen of Troy during a deal made by the demon Mephistopheles.

  • Born as the eponymous Macbeth of Shakespearean legend whose cursed immortal life at the hand of the Witches Three had been written in a highly distorted form, of William Shakespeare's tragedy Macbeth, which has since become regarded as one of his greatest plays. Macbeth, who knew Shakespeare well - though did not reveal his true identity to him - was amused rather than offended by the play. Macbeth first came to America before it was called America and fought on the side of the Allies in WWII.

  • An ancient warrior who had been exposed to a mystical accident which gave him his immortality and superpowers. He traveled through the years eventually serving as a knight of the Round Table in Camelot, discovering new lands with the Spanish, fighting for the revolutionaries during the American Revolutionary War, becoming president as the famous Abraham Lincoln, fighting in the first World War, and eventually becoming a superhero.

  • Born as the Biblical Cain who was cursed as a hellspawn after killing Abel, Cog traveled the years attempting to break his curse and help fellow hellspawn. He was Malcus the servant whose ear was reattached by Jesus Christ, Faustus who made deals with the demon Mephistopheles, and the wizard Merlin in his long life.

  • Born as Nimue Inwudu and the youngest sister of Morgana (who later became Morgaine Le Fay) and Vivienne, the Lady of the Lake. Madame Xanadu is the same Nimue who casted an imprisoning spell on her former lover Merlin, blaming him for manipulating Camelot and the course of history for his own gain in Arthurian Legend. Merlin has the last laugh and he stripped her magic away from her, forcing her to use potions to maintain her immortality. Nimue wandered around the world for some time, becoming an advisor to many great rulers. She spent time in Kublai Khan's court at Xanadu, leading to her assumed name of "Madame Xanadu” and during the French Revolution, she attempted to advise Marie Antoinette. During this era, she is able to regain her immortality by besting Death in a card game.

  • A common English man born in the 14th Century when Dream encountered him while visiting the waking world with his older sister, Death. Gadling was proposing to his friends that people only died because everyone else did it, and that he'd have no part of it. Dream believed that this might be an interesting experiment, and so Dream told Gadling that, if he truly believed the way to live forever was simply not to die. Fought at in many of England’s wars over the century, became close friends with Queen Elizabeth I of the Tudor Dynasty, participated in the continental slave trade.

  • An ageless cryokinetic century baby who traveled around the world in search of various myths and legends. Snow acted as an apprentice under Sherlock Holmes and killed Dracula with his power of "heat subtraction” and a firm kick to the testicles.

  • An ageless century baby born January 1 1900 in England and a part of every major event from 1900 to 2000, including the sinking of the Titanic, being a goddaughter to Albert Einstein, convincing a young Adolf Hitler to leave painting and go into politics, having sex with the three main players in World War II and became the cause for several humans ending up with superpowers in her world.

  • Born Romulus Augustulus (Romulus the "little Augustus") lived during Roman times as the last Emperor of the Roman Empire. Merlin exiled Tyrannus to Subterranea, a place that contained a network of caves and tunnels miles below the surface of the Earth. While Tyrannus was living in Subterranea he found a pool that contained a liquid. Tyrannus suspected the liquid had special powers so he began to drink it. Tyrannus drank the liquid regularly and the liquid maintained his youth for centuries to become an immortal.

  • Born in prehistoric times as one of the Lupine, a tribe of feral humans, Romulus ruled as Emperor during the beginning of the Roman civilization. For many years holding gladiatorial contest using his Lupines as gladiators and manipulating events over the years to control Wolverine’s life.

  • Born as Anath-Na Mut, he was once the chief wizard in the court of ancient Egyptian pharaoh Ramses II. One day It was proven that the wizard's magic was inferior to that of the captive Israelites prophet Moses and the wizard was banished. Years upon years of wandering later, the wizard found a temple and found the Ka Stone which gave him his power and immortality and roamed the following centuries as a nameless figure.

  • Prime Eternal of Marvel. He helped build “Noah’s Ark” during the Great Flood that was actually caused by the Celestials. Started the Greek Myth of Icarus who was actually Ikaris’ son who died after falling into the sea while trying to use a flying device to find his father.

  • An Eternal who encountered the Greek hero Odysseus during his 10 year journey home known as the Odyssey. She turned Odysseus' companions into pigs, but Odysseus, who had been given a magical herb by Hermes, resisted her witchcraft. Sersi fell in love with Odysseus and transformed the pigs back into men. After they stayed on the island for one year, they left to continue their voyage. She was present during Nero's burning of Rome and assisted Merlin during the days of King Arthur Pendragon.

  • An Eternal, she has often been mistaken for Athena and made a deal with Athena herself to act in her stead. The city of Athens was apparently built for her, not the goddess, although Thena later allowed it to be conquered by the Spartans in 404 B.C

  • An Eternal who pranked humans for centuries under various guises, inspiring Shakespeare's character called Puck of the same name. He also inspired the writer of Peter Pan by performing tricks in front of him that he had mistaken for a dream.

  • An immortal government operative running a secret US government department dedicated to the experimentation and eradication of aliens on Earth. He was once a regular U.S. soldier during the early 19th century when he was abducted by Gray Aliens while fighting in the Battle of New Orleans. After being experimented on, he was returned to the battlefield and granted longevity and enhanced strength. Marked by the experience, he has since dedicated his life to staving off alien invasion and was present when the U.S. Army encountered the first aliens who crashed in United States territory and the subsequent creation of the black-ops Earth Protection Force during the Grant administration in 1870, responsible for the Roswell incident of 1947, in reality caused by the a covert take down of a flying saucer belonging to the Greys

  • A crime boss cursed by God with immortality and sent to the beginning of time, forced to live through the creation of the world as it is today, going through biblical events such as Adam and Eve (in which he ate the apple), Noah's ark, etc. And other events Including various wars, religious and otherwise, being part of many different cultures, and more. He has literally seen it all.

  • A mysterious man who is postulated to either be a fallen angel who sided with neither Heaven nor Hell during Satan's rebellion and thus condemned to walk the Earth alone for all time, the Wandering Jew who mocked Jesus at crucifixion and cursed to walk the Earth until the Second Coming, or a remnant of a previous universe. Either way, he dedicates his life to observing and helping others for the forces of good.

  • An immortal evil Egyptian mutant that has been around since the time of Egyptian Pharoah Rama-Tut. Since then he has masqueraded as a variety of gods in different cultures like Huitzilopochtli as a God of Bloody Sacrifice for the Aztecs and Kali-Ma for the Indians. He has also been secretly egging on the conflict between Humans and Mutants to create a war where only the strong would survive with himself as the Alpha.

  • Born as an alien refugee, he escaped on a life pod to Earth in 1839 and had his appearance changed to a black infant to be raised as a slave on a cotton plantation in the American South. Keeping his powers a secret, he eventually worked with the Underground Railroad helping slaves escape to free states and Canada. He eventually fought for slave rights with the Union during the Civil War. After getting a law degree and setting up a successful law firm after the war ended during Reconstruction, Icon met and married during the Harlem Renaissance, lived in France with his wife as expatriates during the thirties, and then fought in World War II before returning to the USA as a lawyer. Each time he went by the alias of being the son of one of his many identities whose deaths he kept on faking.

  • Black Zetsu, the materialized Will of Kaguya Otsusuki, who spent decades shaping the wars and causing the conflicts of the Ninja Wars in the Naruto Verse. All to resurrect Kaguya who he refers to as his mother. The ultimate Mama's Boy.
