@youmessinwithme: Regardlesss of how strong he was in the past, in the very book with Miles he took out all the main avengers. All of them. Jane Thor, Iron Man in his newest armor, and Vision included. What does venom sting do exactly that none of the veteran heroes and Jane couldn't manage?
I believe @stahlflamme is right. I've been reading both Captain Marvel and Ultimates and in both cases her motivations seem 20 times more fleshed out than in the main CWII comic.
From the snippets and scans of CW I've read Carol's goals, cautions and concerns have been stripped of all nuance and boil down to basically (follow the Inhuman boy - Save lives - Every thing else is collateral no matter what happens or who gets hurt/dies).
I don't read any of the Iron Man comics, so I don't know what he does in those, but I haven't seen what he would do to prevent the world ending calamities that Ulysses is constantly predicting. (Celestial thingy, Thanos, Micronaut, Minerva) and all the other little disasters shown being prevented in Ultimates and Captain Marvel. I get that he was suspicious and wanted to find out how Ulysses truly worked, but it seems out of character for any "super hero" to just ignore the possible (and very imminent) destruction of earth just to confirm an almost petty suspicion.
@tantani: I remember him saying something about a "demonic nervous system" or something. The thing is apparently everyone has a weakness to venom sting, and Bendis leaves the actual nature of Mile's venom sting pretty vague seemingly just to use it as a - get out of trouble free- card.
I enjoy Miles as Spider man, but his venom sting is starting to grate on my patience. Specifically after Secret Wars.
