Hulk Rants: Michael Bay

Welcome to a new episode of..

No Caption Provided

Today, Hulk Rants on...Michael Bay.

Now, Hulk know what you're thinking: "Oh yeah, Incredible Hulk's going to mess him up good."

WRONG!

Hulk have a problem with you guys that hate on Michael Bay to such extremes. There are some people, specifically on Youtube, who go as far as to say that they want Michael Bay dead. Some say he's the Anti-Christ. Hulk seen it with his own eyes. Hulk think that's messed up.

Look, it's OK to hate someone's movie, or hate the director for making said movies. But, what's not OK is going so far to say that you want that director dead. Is it really a crime to make a fun action film? Is it illegal in your eyes to make a big-budget destruction fest? Michael Bay has received tons of hate from Transformers fans, who say that Michael Bay has destroyed the franchise.

Hulk personally think Michael Bay SAVED the Transformers franchise. Prior to 2007, during the 2000's era, Hulk hear Transformers weren't that popular at the time. The first Transformers movie brought in big money and managed to create new legions of Transformers fans, including Hulk. At least unlike some adapatations that seem to get hate, Michael Bay seemed to get the concept: Giant robots of 2 factions kick the s**t out of each other and turn into vehicles. That's what we got in all 3 movies. Hulk just think people seem to expect Shakespeare.

This guy, the Antichrist? Please.
This guy, the Antichrist? Please.

Granted Pearl Harbor sucked, but Michael Bay also gets hate because people think he's directing the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Hulk think people need to do some research. Michael Bay isn't directing it. He's only producing it. The director of TMNT 2014 is Johnathan Liebsman, who did Wrath of the Titans. Plus, good news. Reports say the Turtles aren't aliens anymore. They're mutants again.

Now, Hulk want to hear from you. What is your favorite Michael Bay film and why? Tell Hulk in the comments below.

I hate how there are explosions from left to right in his films with low-comedy (like d*ck jokes). Although most of his movies I hate...and I don't really like TF franchise that much. Actually I think it's overrated, but that's simply my opinion.

See. That's good. You said your opinion in a civilized way, rather than some people who say, "Michael Bay needs to get shot". No, Hulk not joking. Some people actually say that, which is what motivated Hulk to do this one.

I honestly haven't seen many movies of his, the first two transformers movies I disliked both, but I'm not a big transformers guy.

The Island I also saw, and that was hilariously a plot point for plot point rip off of Parts: The Clonus Horror, a B-Movie featured on MST3K.

and The Rock which I guess wins but it has been soooooooo long since I've seen it.

I liked that "Got Milk?" commercial he did, his finest work.

Seriously I don't hate the whole EXPLOSIONS thing, but the lowbrow humor is far too much to tolerate.

This. But I don't hate Michael Bay himself. Just his movie directing style.

Well I don't really like his movies, but to say that he needs to get shot? Damn. That's very....wow.

You're right, not only is that uncivilized, but no one should die simply because one doesn't like their movies. That's ridiculous. Also, thanks for the reply :)

Well, a LITTLE bit of that kind of happened when Hulk starred in Ultimate Spiderman. Hulk spoke in more complete sentences while still saying "Hulk".

JJ Abrams Star Trek is everything people complaints about Bay, but in worst execution.

Still nerds love him, even when Bay actions is superior, Bay images are superior and Bay writting is not as horrible as Abramas plot twist nonsense and suspense bullcrap.

I enjoy some of his movies but I can see why people hate them. The only real problem I have is, like you said, the degree of the hatred. I feel people go too far when they say he's "raping their childhood" and hope that he dies a painful death.

I think people expect Transformers to be an actual good movie rather than just action movies because shows like Beast Wars and the comics have shown that we can get good pieces of writing from the franchise.

And I just want to say that I really agree with the part I put in bold. Seriously, I wonder how many people here have heard of the atrocity that is the Unicron Trilogy. Those are the single worst "Transformers" shows I've ever seen in my life and every time I see people say Michael Bay was the only bad thing that happened to Transformers and he ruined the franchise, I want to strap those people down into a chair and make them watch the Unicron Trilogy and then see if they still say Michael Bay is the only bad thing to happen to the franchise. For all the problems with Michael Bay's movies, at least he understood what a Transformers movie should feel like. The Unicron Trilogy don't even feel like Transformers shows. They look like Transformers shows but they're so blatantly trying to be something else.

Whew. Sorry for going on that little rant.... but I really, really hate the Unicron Trilogy.

Regarding the whole Transformers thing. The movies did make more of an impact. I mean Transformers has always being pretty popular. But creating a live action movie a big summer blockbuster is obviously going to make any franchise more well known. But I mean anyone could have come along and made a Transformers movie Bay isn't special or skilled for doing that. I thought he was off to a good start with the first film actually. But it just quickly went down hill after that. I get that he might be good at making stuff blow up and maybe even directing action scenes. But that is all the Transformers are really used for in the movies and that is my big issue and why I am disappointed. Its not about the Transformers like it should instead about a persons interaction with them. And the real appeal about Transformers is that its more about their interaction with our planet and their war on our world. Plus do I even have to mention how the Decepticons are treated as walking punching bags in the movie?

I dont really like any of his other movies. Do I even have to get started about all his horror movie remakes? It seems to me that he is a hack and he only care about making money. Which is the primary reason he actually made the Transformers movies. He was not interested in making an intriguing and interesting story involving them his ONLY reason was to make money. Same thing with his horror remakes. So I dont particularly like him or his films.

Megatron wasn't. He was making punching bags out of everyone else in the first movie.

Hardly in the first film he was. But he just rapidly got worse in the sequel. He was pretty much Primes bitch.

I do agree that he helped revive Transformers in a way, but most people aren't willing to admit it. Doesn't matter what your opinions on the movies are, he brought to the attention of people which has helped revive Transformers which is why it is so popular again.

As for the movies, I swear people can be incredibly stupid about their perception about it. The movies are just non stop action and stupid humor, nothing more and nothing less. I don't why people are going to expect a serious movie and complaining about how they didn't like for having the wrong expectations. When I see the movies, I expect a lot of action and I'm pleased because I was realistic with my expectations. If I went in expecting to see something serious and dark, I'd be disappointed like a lot of people are.

Are the movies accurate to what Transformers are? Thats a different rant for another day.

Plus do I even have to mention how the Decepticons are treated as walking punching bags in the movie?

Starscream and Megatron got a ridiculous nerf in the second and third film, but in the first movie they were really boss. Starscream got like 17 minutes screen-time and destroyed the hangar, freeing Megatron, Blew off Bumblebee's legs, Nonchalantly stomped Ratchet and Ironhide while barely scratching his paint Job, Blew up a helicopter which was going to take the cube from Sam, and performed the most awesome piece of Jet-Jujitsu on some F-21's.

And Megatron ripped Jazz in Half and pretty much owned Optimus Prime for the whole movie.

They did yes. I mean for the brief time the Decepticons were in the first film for the most part they were a decent threat.

That is what irritated me the most when seeing ROTF with how Megatron beat crap out of Prime but then in Revenge of the Fallen he was Primes punching bag. Plus Prime just came off as a psychopathic murder "give me your face" :/
