@Xan: Hercules is stronger than Thor - Hercules has lifted the weight of the world which included the added weight of the midgard serpent wrapped around it. World + Midgard Serpent > than Midgard serpent. Thor can't touch that even with the lame plot device "warrior's madness" or his myth-based belt of strength. Hercules is the superior fighter - he's been around longer, is trained in unarmed combat and doesn't rely on an all-powerful weapon or belt of strength, not to mention Thor himself has admitted Herc is his better in hand-to-hand combat. Hercules is more durable and has greater stamina - this has been stated/rated several times in the various editions of the Official Handbook ot the Marvel Universe. Herc doesn't tire after any exertion and is a true immortal. Thor is a God but as a Norse God he isn't truly immortal (only extremely long-lived) and would eventually succumb to at least a bit of fatigue. These are the categories where Herc has the edge. Thor IS definitely more powerful over-all than Hercules. Before he inherited the Odin-force Thor still had absolute command of the storm as well as Mjolnir which just happens to be one of the most powerful weapons in all of existence. Now that Thor has the Odin-force he is a being on par with any of Marvel's cosmic beings and could obviously defeat Herc anyway he would want. Basing this battle strictly on physical abilities and fighting skills Hercules wins. However, this is a close fight. If Thor uses his elemental powers and/or the full power of Mjolnir he wins. If Thor has and uses the Odin-force this is a mismatch and Herc has no chance. Also, I like Thor he's truly one of my favorites but without his non-physical abilities he's a close second to Hercules.
the only thing hercules is better in thor in is hand to hand combat
thor has better strength
coul fly
control over all types of weather
thor is more durable
idk if hecules can breath in space but thor could
thor has over 15 other powers
thor is superior in basically every way!
heh are you not listening? THEY ARM WRESTLED TO A STALEMATE hes not stronger... thor has never beat herc... herc has taken down thor... an yes thor can fly but since herc is on par with hawkeye with a bow an arrow he would hit him right between the eyes an bring em back down to earth then beat em again... hehe (its a stretch)
i mean i understand being a fan of someone but if Thor holds Herc in such high regards an sees him as a brother an equal! why wouldnt his loyal fans?

@U R Sofa King We Todd Did: Hercules isn't the god of anything. He wasn't given precedence over any anything by Zeus. He calls himself the Prince of Power, but that's just his bravado. I know some like to say he is the god of strength but he is not. He's not even a full god, he's a demi-god. He is destined to be ruler of the Greek gods and replace Zeus as high-father.
update: Herc is the (currently de-powered) God of Heroes.

I think Hercules would take this. His Lion's cloth gives him invincibility where as Thor's durability would remain the same. He would be stronger than Hercules but shouldn't be able to hurt him, where as Hercules blows should hurt Thor as usual. Their hammers are equal in might but not sure how his cloth would do against Thor's unfettered storm powers. But if it makes the wear invincible, I can only go off of that statement until proven wrong.
I agree with this analysis. The determining factor that gave Thor the edge on these boards (they pretty much stalemate in the books) is the diversity of Mjolnir, because we all know Thor has said Herc is the better h2h fighter. Therefore, it stands to reason that if external weapons cancel each other out, the edge goes to Hercules. The nature of his enhancement, the belt of strength, and energy manipulation will not be able to harm Herc, but Herc can still injure Thor. Herc wins this by virtue of being unable to lose.
