Saitama vs Garou was one of the best fights I’ve read in any form of media in the last few years. Moro not so much.

This feels a bit lopsided in Hulks favour, both of these guys have been susceptible to thunderclaps as well.

I don’t remember SB having much in terms of damage output, and Green Scar has really good resistances to being drained.

@battle123axe: @thedailybagel: I've been feeling bad as of late so I'm just gonna say you guys are right. For the record, I don't keep track of what writers say on social media. I just read the comics. Not every comic that these two characters have ever been in, but I am the most knowledgeable on them compared to every other Marvel character aside from Thanos.

There’s absolutely no worries dude, I was genuinely interested in what you thought about the topic. Thor vs Hulk is always going to be divisive, and thinking one beats the other is far from a “wrong” opinion, we’ve all seen weirder ones that have come up on CV.

In hindsight 2 people responding to the same post is a bit much to deal with so I’m sorry for dumping all that on you.

I'm probably misinformed, I'm very new to comics, but I've been told that the reading order should be Planet Hulk, World War Hulk, and then Immortal Hulk and that they are all tied together and will be the source material for the new PKJ run. What is your recommendation?

Depends on how much you want to read honestly. Immortal Hulk ties into allot of Hulk’s history including stuff that was established in the 80s and 90s, but I wouldn’t say any of it is required to understand what is going on. There are multiple runs between WWH and Immortal Hulk anyway.

Although I’d say it definitely makes for a more interesting reading experience if you notice all the references to past stories. I would recommend Pak‘s stuff (Planet Hulk, WWH, incredible hulks) anyway as it’s really good as well.

PKJ’s run is pretty heavily inspired by Immortal Hulk though, and ties into the end of Starship in terms of Hulk and Banner’s relationship. PKJ’s run has been a slow burn so you wouldn’t miss out waiting for a while for things to get a bit more interesting.

@thedailybagel: Do you have the Al Ewing statement where he says Hulk wasn’t amped vs The Avengers?

No Caption Provided

Ironically allot of the reasons that people use to discredit the showing (Hulk amped by TOBA, Thor being weaker etc) are straight up shot down by Ewing. It is kinda implied that Hulk being possessed was making him more brutal, but it's revealed a bit later that Devil Hulk is just a really messed up dude.

@takenstew22: Forgot to respond to your other post so will quickly respond to your post to BA.

I mean, there's multiple incarnations of Hulk and some are stronger than others. I think Worthy Thor beats Savage Hulk for a majority but loses against Green Scar. GS is too much of a tank. If it's Odin Force Thor we're talking, then he pretty much beats any Hulk if he's going all out.

You could very easily make the argument that current Savage would beat Green Scar. Your opinion is fair enough, but I'm not entirely sure what you are basing it on? Thor has been beaten by Hulk 4 times in the last 6 or 7 years, 3 of them were outright stomps where Thor was backed by a team. He's fought Hulk whilst he had the Odin Force three other times and Thor nearly died in one of the encounters, he couldn't put Hulk down on another occasion whilst backed by like a dozen other heroes etc... And basically all of those Hulks (Devil, Joe, Amadeus) were explicitly mentioned to be weaker than Savage Hulk. That is over half a dozen straight comparisons that look terrible for Thor against Hulk in as many years.

Like, we saw Savage Hulk tank a beating and then get the upper hand on Thor with the full Odin Force further amped up with Hulk powers... I don't really see the argument for Base worthy Thor at all taking that into account. I would be interested to hear why you still think Base worthy Thor would get a majority.

I'm not sure if Savage Hulk got even really any stronger than usual, aside from him being immortal. I'm not even 100% certain if current Hulk is Savage. Maybe it is Savage Hulk, just a little smarter now.

There are allot of references to Hulk being stronger than he used to be.

Also, I'd like to mention the instance of Devil Hulk cracking Thor's head was after he absorbed gamma from Sasquatch.

What does this change though? He kept that gamma throughout the entire run up to now and Sasquatch was hardly the first/last person that he drained. Al Ewing has said that Hulk was not amped in that encounter regardless.
