The problem is this does not feel like an important event. Sure, there are some tie-ins, but not really. This just seems like a long drawn out way to get to whatever "twist" happens at the end. The deaths don't mean anything, because they aren't really happening.
You nailed it right there. I feel the same way, this story is just for a twist ending and will change Hank Pym (Personally I think he will become Marvel Man). The deaths are for shock and shock alone and I think that stuff has run its coarse with many comic fans.
It's not like characters actually stay dead in standard Marvel events, anyway. Not that I'd ever defend this awful thing.
One moment in particular has Kato taking a picture of a 'bad guy' which later ends up in Britt Reid's newspaper. How would something like this be explained?
I'd have to go with Young Justice. While I like almost all the shows up there (save TCW, since it's one of the worst things to happen to Star Wars, second only to Karen Traviss, and Transformers, which while decent, isn't something I care much for), I feel like it has the most potential. Specifically that it could lead to a new DCAU, which I've wanted for a while, whereas I feel Marvel just doesn't know how to handle its animated shows enough to establish a decent Marvel animated universe.
@Yai_Inn: Not to mention it skips over everything that makes Peter Quill, Peter Quill. Most notably the fact that he used to be kind of an asshole, what with stepping on people to make it to NASA, and then to space, and neglecting to mention that Peter really doesn't care that much about Earth. As well as conveniently forgetting that Peter made up with his father long ago.
