5 greatest comic book movies ever made

This is not a list of my personal favourite comic book movies, you can find that here, but comic book films which I believe are the greatest ever made in terms of the storytelling, themes, acting and what not. This is all personal opinion: if you don't agree, then that is perfectly fine.
5. The Dark Knight (2008) - Christopher Nolan
The greatest comic book movie ever made. Transcends the genre and steps into crime fiction territory: thought provoking, gritty, and riveting. Heath Ledger turns in what is arguably the strongest performance in a comic book film as The Joker. Although it would've been better off as an R rated film, it is still fantastic.
4. Spider-Man 2 (2004) - Sam Raimi
Succeeds as a character study of both Peter Parker and Spider-Man, the struggles of leading a double life, and how the two personas overlap. A simple, relatable story that is a redemption arc for all of the characters. Features the best directed action sequences in a comic book film: especially the masterful train sequence, which is excellent in harnessing both Spider-Man and Doc Ock's character. It is a bit cheesy, but the story is very, very, very well told.
3. Batman (1989) - Tim Burton
Although it's currently living in the shadows of The Dark Knight Trilogy, this movie was innovative in atmosphere - dark, broody and totally serious - Tim Burton is a director who brought an edge to the subgenre, alleviated by Jack Nicholson's performance as The Joker. It's atmosphere is fantastic and is what truly sets it apart from other superhero films.
2. X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) - Bryan Singer
The most inspiring film in it's sub genre - has prevalent themes of hope that are never pretentious or heavy handed. This is actually a comic book movie that has aged well and is highly rewatchable as it is a mixture of fun, action, emotion, inspiration and hopefulness. Michael Fassbender's Magneto will not only go down as one of the greatest cinematic superhero villains, but also one of the finest characters in a comic book film. Excellent ensemble cast in Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Even Peter's Quicksilver which people loved.
1. Iron Man (2008) - Jon Favreau
This was the film that started the MCU, and it kicked off the franchise in a grand fashion. Although the movie virtually had no script, the writers at MARVEL crafted a story which is a redemption arc for Tony Stark, who is facing his own demons. It borrows a lot from Batman Begins in the origin story department, and has a tone different from recent MCU films. Great performances all around from Robert Downey Jr. who chews up all of his scenes, and Jeff Bridges, "The Dude", as Iron Monger, who is now an unbankable character in both comics and the movie department.
HONORABLE MENTION - Fantastic Four (2015) - Josh Trank
