Goku was probably suppressing his PL as the Z fighters are known to do. Its not much different than when Frieza got his goons to read Future Trunk's power level and it came up as a whopping 5, they don't walk around flaring their powers 24.7. That's how I interpreted that scene in the movie anyway. I will watch the episode tonight and see if its any different.

I think it's a simple mistranslation. In the sub I saw, Beerus does say this. But later clarifies himself. Plus Goku was holding way way back.

Agreed with the result, not the calculations and statements that brought them there. Also didn't really appreciate the backhanded comments made about Superman. It felt like they gave him the win purely because they believe him to be a terrible and OP character.

Though, I was surprised, I was expecting Goku to win to appease the DBZ fans.

@theamazingbatman: gokus power level cannot be truly detected this is why the scouters didn't work and how cell was able to hide from them by lowering his power level so they could not find him, this is because goku can charge up his power.

Don't let it get to you, its not worth getting so heavily invested in a fight in which the victor changes on a whim depending upon whats taken into account. Simply enjoy the animation.

@theamazingbatman: I wasn't disappointed in the outcome, tbh it was the obvious outcome.

But I do agree that saying Superman isn't interesting because he is powerful was ignorant. They clearly don't understand the symbol he represents or his struggles.

At the end of the day though, I thought the fight was pretty entertaining.

Once again Goku and his entire verse come off as ridiculously weak under the supervision of Screwattack. But seriously people take their verdict too seriously. They are fictional characters, no need to get so angry about it gents.
