I think Zoom is the Rival, which was the first reverse flash in the comics from the 40s. I think Jay will be the key to defeating Zoom. Zoom came off as terrifying and very powerful. I'm interested to see how they will beat him.
I thought this was a very humorus episode. I especially enjoyed the blind date. Wells from Earth two was interesting-especially with the personality change. He is much more brash. Tom Cavanagh had another excellent performance. My main negative is that I didn't really like the villain reveal with two characters being combined.
An interview with the show runners confirmed that Wally will be Joe's son. I prefer in the comics how the Iris/Wally relationship is a nephew/aunt relationship where Iris was a mother figure to Wally. I think in comics family connections are overused. The villain or hero is always a brother, mother, father, etc. Maybe its cause I have a lot of cousins, but I would have liked to see an extended family dynamic. Either way I'm looking forward to their approach of the character.
I really enjoyed this episode. I really liked Jax, he was a very humorous and fun character. The lead-in for next weeks episode looks very interesting with Dr. Wells of Earth 2. I didn't like how caitlin revealed the team's secret to the villain and the villain fell flat for me. I didn't like francine's character but it did make for some interesting drama. I liked that they tackled the sad result of her past addiction, and I liked that it is setting up for potentially Wally West. I hope that the character is written with more of the character traits and complexity of John's version or the Young Justice version instead of the recent new 52 version.
Great issue. I'm really enjoying this series right now. As many have stated - the art on this series has been excellent. whether it be Fabok or the Manipal/Buccellato team- I love the art. It's also cool to see the Johns/Manipal/Buccellato team reunite. Can't wait til next month.
This was my favorite episode of season two so far just because it dealt with the humanity and tragic pasts of the characters. The episode showed how characters were hurt by drug addiction and physical violence in the family. I thought the music helped set the tone for the episode as well. I'm also glad jay is sticking around a little longer. Also excited for the arrival of Earth two Dr. Wells
I liked this episode, but felt they may have tried to pack in too much. I felt that Henry leaving so fast seemed a little premature, I can understand why he would have a hard time adjusting, but he left too fast. I also thought the fate of atom smasher was a little bit too up in the air of whether he died or not.
I think the emotional scenes, the music and Professor Stein's dialouge really stood out in this episode. I am excited for the team up next episode.

Agreed. This was excellent and had a lot of depth to it (multiple call backs to various themes and characters). I liked the callback to Final Crisis. Ironically I think this is the second time the Flash wrecked darkseid (final crisis). I have no idea what to think about the Flash becoming Black Flash, but it was very interesting.
