The Monkey is Hit-Monkey, an ape trained to be an assassin [not a super-ape, a "normal ape" with and absurde assassin training]. The "Fish-Man" is Manphibian, a sort of "Creature of the Black Lagoon", he appears in some horror stories and is one of the inhabitants of the "Monster Metropolis" under New York. The other green guy is "Teen Abomination", a teen-ager infused with gamma radiation [he appeared for the first time in the "Superior Iron-Man" miniserie]
The girl is "Vampire by Night", a long forgotten Vampire Heroine [a true vampire, not a "living" one such as Morbius]. Orrgo is... boh... a space monster? While the Werewolf is Warwolf [yes, original name...], a cursed soldier [i think]
Oh well, and the other Shield's Agents [not Dum Dum, the other] is "Zombie" Jasper Sitwell, a long time expert Agents of Shield, partener of Jimmy Woo, who have been killed some time ago in the first Winter Soldier solo volume, and resurrected as a sort of zombie for this story [Curiosity: Jasper Sitwell is the main traitor officer in the MCU "Captain America: Winter Soldier" Film. Hail Hydra!]
Can someone spoil part of the issue for me? The cover features Porcupine (Who I'm a big fan of) among the villains there, but I know he's currently trying to be a hero in the new Spiderwoman series. Did they already have him revert to crime, was he hired by Scott, or is he just on the cover for no other reason than to look nice? (Especially confused since that costume is not what he currently is wearing) I would be very grateful if someone could let me in on what (if anything) occurred with him
I've not yet readed the issue, but I'm following both previously Ant-Man and Spider-Woman series.
Till now, Scott Lang have hired up Machinesmith and Grizzly not for a criminal gang, but for being "good", working as a Security Agency under the guide/payment of former Supereheroine Mrs. Morgenstern a.k.a. Miss Patriot. And the new Scarab is simply the "occasional girl of a night", that Scott Lang meet into a pub while the world was ending...
So is higly possible that that on the cover was not a real Crime-Team, but something more like "covered operation", and Porcupine may be a reforming criminal posing as a not reformed criminal :)
I loved Hickman's run but it wasn't what a New Avengers series should be about to me. It should have been called Illuminati but I assume the name New Avengers sells better.
They are not even Illuminati, they are A.I.M., Avengers Idea Mechanics :) and I think that this would be a better title than Illuminati or New Avengers :)
Anyway, I really, really, really Like the Team, they have united some of my favourite character :)
I am soooooooo out of touch. I only recognize a few of these. Obviously, I know Man-Thing and Dugan(who, by the looks of things is some kind of android now?) I'm also familiar with Kid Abomination. This is the first I've ever heard of "Orrgo", although I would guess he's a relic from back when Marvel was big on monster comics, and I'm only assuming the monkey is Hit-Monkey. The lupine could be any of several wolf themed characters. The rest are a complete mystery to me.
In "Original Sin" we have discovered that Dun Dun Dugan is dead many years ago [1968?]. He have been a Life Mode Decoy for alla this time, but he dosen't know that! Now he now :)
If I was in America, I would by a copy of this book for anyone who continue to scream "no, close this, I will not buy it!!!", only to rise the selling and continue to read not the comics, but the continuous moaning of the "fans", that is becaming the most funny and silly thing of the world...
I'm sorry, I'm posting before I read the article due to time constraints, so if this was already addressed, I apologize.
My only issue with him being on the guardians of the galaxy is what capabilities does he actually bring to the table. What he can do that Drax and/or Groot haven't already covered?
I think that the problem will be more with Groot and Venom than with Drax. I mean, Drax will be the weapon/tecnique/combat/tactics expert [and now that we don't have Gamora, he will be the only "true fighter"], while Groot, Venom and Ben will be the Powerhouse, raw strenght and power...
But the problem is the same...
Anyway I think Ben will be very usefull as a Pilot for the Guardians ship. Without Gamora and Peter-Quill, only Rocket may be considered a good space-pilot, but a team may need some alternation between at leas two pilot :)
