Once something brisked Maya Summers away from their conversation, Cameron got the feeling of deja vu. When Cameron had deja vu it preluded to an incoming change of course in her life. The thought of the change being bad disrupted her cheery mood, so she dropped into her phone. Her social media accounts were blazing banking in 1K followers in a day on multiple platforms. She scanned thru her new followers to add potential mutuals with a certain je ne sais quoi. On her scroll A News badge rudely dropped down the top of screen and read: "BREAKING: Emerald City struck with another terrorist attack." Cameron opened the article and scanned reading the previous attacks, one at the hands of Ziccarra Liafador and the recent one dealing with one of the cities treasured monuments. The hairs on Cameron's back stood rigid on her neck. The owner's voice got louder in her head and she felt eyes burning in the back of her neck.

She glanced at her unfinished tea and took one final sip before she rose from her seat. She shunned eye contact from the group of women, but Maya's voice was loud in her mind. She beelined through the tables, chairs and baristas before finally crashing into Timothy and shattering a glass. "What the *^&^!" she screamed cringing at the pierce of the glass and Maya's voice in her head. It disoriented her. All of it. She came here to flee the supernatural and seemed to relocate herself into the center of another bubbling crisis. "Im so sorry!" she exhaled to Timothy, trying to grasp her bearing after publicly losing it. She gestured to help before deciding to just rush pass the barista and out the door. Before panning out of sight, Cameron gave the group of girls an involuntary gaze through the cafe window. Whatever trouble was coming she knew avoiding it wouldn't protect her....

Just waiting on a Pain au Lait."She glanced over the front counter and saw the young boy micromanaging the other barista's. "Timothy over there's on it. " Something--her Vanir intuition--told her she should speak with the wheat haired woman. "I'm Cameron"hiding the fact English was her third language by saying 'kam' instead of 'kahm'. She proffered her gold embellished hand for a cordial shake showcasing matte charcoal painted nails. "And the tea is delicious by the way."

Within seconds she terminated the thought, thinking of the resentment built up at the thought of his name. Never. He was the last person she would run to in her current situation. She didn't put the idea of him possibly orchestrating her death past her.

"Cameron?" a teenage barista asked, holding a hot cup of sweet mint green tea. She stepped out of her thoughts and set her emerald eyes on the young boy. "Sorry. I didn't hear you. That's me. I completely spaced out ." she shot him a warm smile, without revealing her teeth and saturated her eyes with an inviting glow. "Did they put Manuka honey in there?" He eagerly proffered her the hot drink. "Made it myself. Enjoy."Before he could rush off back to the hustle, she stopped him for another request."Can I get a warm, buttery Pain a Laut? " she tilted her head, savoring the thought of the bread in her

mouth."Please? Thank you. On the house." The barista marched off committing her order to memory. Cameron went back to her magazine peeking over the

brim to watch a group of girls talk over coffee. Friends was far from something she needed right now. She needed to lay low and not be seen. She broke her

secret gaze and went back to reading her magazine...
