@nosoop4u: Many thanks for the explanation! However, I can't test it out because I'm getting the "unavailable" error again. Have been for a few days now. Anyone else? Is there a new update needed?

Can someone tell me what the Comicrack scraper actually saves into the Notes section of the book?

Example: Gen 13 Annual 1999 has this in the notes:
Scraped metadata from ComicVine [CVDB167258]

What is [CVDB167258] an actual reference to?

I'm trying to manually trick Comicrack into scraping a comic that CV has, I'm looking at the page, but no search turns it up. Book is Gen 13 Annual #1 (https://comicvine.gamespot.com/gen-13-annual/4050-23131/). Where do I find the 6 digit number to paste into comicrack to show it its error?

@renchamp: @pikahyper:

Please allow me to clarify: I'm trying to understand the ComicVine backend so that I can configure a third party app to work better. What ComicRack calls one field, you could call a different name - I just want to know where I should be looking for the information I want because I'm seeing things formatted differently. Story arc vs. title vs. alternate series, I was under the impression this thread was about these kinds of standards.

I also want to contribute crossover reading order data to the ComicVine backend so that it can be used by any third party readers, as well as users of the site. I believe this is the same problem @wmwadeii: was reporting. I have looked through the Story Arcs pages here, and while there is a listing of Issues, those issues are not put in the proper order to appreciate the story arc (See CV vs. Wikipedia). This is a very simple data field that just needs a number put into it and I'm volunteering to do that work for ComicVine. Is there a different user or thread I should consult to find out how to get involved?

Hi, I'm new to the CV forums (throw your tomatoes).

I'm here through ComicRack. I've done loads of metadata editing with thetvdb and themoviedb, I'm hoping to do the same here. Since you folks seem to be setting the standards, I figure you can help me out.

When I pull up the Alternate Series field in ComicRack, I am finding these mega crossover names, and I'm seeing (most of) the books I am expecting to see. I'm interested in finding a space in ComicVine that will store the reading order of Alernate Series (like Civil War, X-Cutioner's Song) so that it can be scraped into ComicRack for anybody. That way, books can be filed in folders based on series, but you can still pull up the proper reading order when you want to (and I very much want to).

How can I go about updating this specific information with ComicVine so that my efforts can be shared by everyone instead of locked into my local library?
