@adamtrmm:I didn't want to add New Mutants or X-Factor (besides pertinent crossover issues) because it's an X-Men focused list. I wanted something focused and to the point. There is still plenty of New Mutants to be had in this list though: Professor X is a Jerk issue, Fall of the Mutants, Asgardian Wars, and X-Tinction Agenda.

@invain: Yeah, my first time around I missed all those mini-series as well. I just finished a re-read of this whole list and it was nice to go back and read it in context of what was happening around it.

@mozzle: Thank you so much! I'm definitely going to keep putting X-Men reading lists out there. They're my favorite characters, and I just want people to easily get into the comics. :)

@squall13:

If you're looking for a really granular reading order that intertwines all the titles, check out CrushingKrisis.com. His site has helped me so much over the years I've been reading and collecting X-Men.

A suggestion. Feel free to ignore it if you will. Do you think it would be beneficial if you add some kind of "optional" notes or category that might encourage or help people branch to other story arcs where the X-Men are a bit involved.

That's definitely something I do in my X-Men Reading Guide (pinned on this forum and the URL is at the bottom of the infographic), but this is more of just something really easy to share next time someone posts: "I wanna read classic X-Men!" kind of think.

So, I'm sure many of you have seen the "Cosmic Marvel Infographic" floating around the internet. It's been shared a lot in the online comic community, and is a really helpful resource.

A few months ago, I made a graphic reading order for "Jonathan Hickman's Marvel Saga" mocking the colors and style of this guide (with a few styling updates).

So, I figured I'd do it again with Claremont's X-Men! This reading order is already included in my Guide to Reading X-Men (pinned to the top of the forum), but I figured this image would be an easier way to share the reading order to Claremont's X-Men without having to have a huge guide to read.

Guide updated:

  • Added missing link for the 90s issue-by-issue guide through the decade
  • Finished off the All-New, All-Different section ending with IvX and the final issues of Extraordinary X-Men and Uncanny X-Men (v4)
  • Added a new section for all the new ResurrXion books.

One final edit!

Some reddit users helped me iron out some issues with the reading order

I created a visual reading order for Jonathan Hickman's marvel work for reddit, and I thought I'd share it here as well. Enjoy and feel free to share!
