@galacticshrub: For sure. This site was always better than the others because it was mostly about comic books. Ed Brubaker (I think?) even tweeted about how comic book sites are 90% not comics. I get that articles about the TV shows and movies are going to draw traffic but comicvine used to have a much better balance.

If I exclude Batman and things like that then it'd be...

1. Dracula (Castlevania)

2. Geralt of Rivia (The Witcher)

3. Alucard (Castlevania)

4. Morrigan (Dragon Age)

5. Thane Krios (Mass Effect)

6. Ellie (The Last of Us)

7. Liara T'Soni (Mass Effect)

8. Joel (The Last of Us)

9. Scorpion (Mortal Kombat)

10. Nathan Drake (Uncharted)

Technically, Geralt, Dracula, and Alucard all existed before their video game appearances but I'm keeping them anyway. There are a lot more characters that I could include but this is about as close to my definitive list as I can get.

@birdman400: If anyone expected Batman to be the main character then they weren't paying attention. I hate this show because it was pitched as a Jim Gordon story and it isn't. Had they done a show that delved into Gordon fully and used the GCPD and very select elements of Batman's mythos to tell a compelling story then I would have been all over it. Instead we get a show that is obsessed with introducing as many villains as possible. On top of that there is the bad writing, bad acting from some of the actors, and strange cinematography decisions. It's okay if someone likes this show but to boil people's dislike of it down to "they thought Batman would be in it" is simply not correct.

I hated season one so much by the end that I am actually not even going to watch at all anymore. I normally give a show a few episodes in the second season to win me back but just no with Gotham. I caught a scene while I was cancelling my DVR recording between Barbara, Jim, and Leslie. Who writes this dialogue? It's so awful. On top of that, the actress that plays Barbara is horrendous.

Kingpin and Loki are at the top. Then a big gap to Ward and Bucky. Then an even bigger gap to the rest. It's been beaten to death but I think it's true that Marvel hasn't done that well with villains. Kingpin and Loki are both great characters with amazing actors to give them even more weight. Ward is a good character who really came into his own in the second season of Agents of SHIELD while Bucky really brought a lot of emotional depth to The Winter Soldier. The rest of Marvel's villains tend to be a lot more one note. Jaiying wasn't really one note but her villain reveal and death happened so quickly that it is hard for me to rank her all that high. Anyway, opinions are opinions but I'm honestly flabbergasted that Kingpin could be below the boring and one dimensional Ronin. Guardians of the Galaxy was amazing but it had nothing to do with Ronin.

I wish I had more money to buy more comics. I'm down to only a few single issues per month and the very rare collected edition. I'd like to check this out as well as quite a few others out there but I don't have the money or time right now. I love horror though so I'll keep an eye on this one and maybe pick up the trade eventually.

I've said it before and I'll probably keep saying it but every time the sales numbers get posted this site turns into a pissing contest between Marvel and DC fanboys. Like what you like and stop being dicks about it.

I don't necessarily think the general tone of the show was the problem in season 3. The show has never been light but the first two seasons were enjoyable. The problem with season 3 was lazy and uninspired writing. They spent way too much of the season focusing on the groan worthy Olicity romance which effectively ruined Felicity's character for me. On top of that we got more Arrow ripping off Batman than ever in season 3. Plus, every opportunity for a really cool moment was ruined pretty quickly. For example, Oliver's "death" in the middle of the season and his turn to the League. Both of those things had a lot of potential to be cool but were ultimately fumbled along the way. I hope this show rebounds in a big way because my interest going into next season is to see Matt Ryan as Constantine again and has little to nothing to do with the Arrow characters.
