Best Trench Coat's In Comics

Trench Coats! They're comfy, they protect you from the elements, have lots of pockets and if you're a comic book character they signal you're an irrefutable badass. Or that you get cold easily. Regardless here are the ten best trench coats in comics.

1. Wesley Dodds/Sandman

One of the original DC superheroes, Wesley Dodds was originally portrayed as wearing a simple suit and cape in addition to his awesome gas mask and fedora.

Later his revamped adventures in Sandman Mystery Theater as well as his successor Sandy Hawkins (pictured below) were shown wearing proper trench coats in homage to his pulp detective roots.

During the Flashpoint event Wesley appeared (pictured below left) with a sort of mixture between his classic golden age appearance and his more modern one. Dodds was reintroduced again during James Robinson's "Earth 2" run where he is depicted as the leader of a black ops special forces team who uses his trench coat for undercover operations (pictured below right).

Publishing wise Batman oldest ally and proud owner of a trench coat that probably smells like coffee and cigarettes and serves to protect him from the harsh Gotham weather. He's so associated with trench coats when he briefly operated a giant batsuit his partner and friend Harvey Bullock gave him a giant trench coat to wear over it.

3. Vic Sage/The Question

Vic Sage is the faceless, philosophy spouting protector of Hub city who can scare you shitless by singing "Danny Boy". Sadly he died due to the sealant on his mask being cancerous, but he still manages to pass on his moniker and his love of awesome coats to his successor Renee Montoya.
