d'Ana Toro

No Caption Provided

d'Ana Toro is a legendary heroic outlaw in Awekian folklore and subsequently featured in literature and film. Accounted to be a enemy of the Spanish empire in legend, he was a Blarius Geist, who had formerly fought for the Awekia military. Most versions of the legend depicts him as having fought in the Aweko-Spanish war, and having been injured in the Battle for Tzian. He moved to Lower Tizoc, after being discarded from the military. However, upon returning to his home, he heard about the conflict in the western lands of Texjara and L'Boutte.

Depicted with a wooden big cat mask, shagged with a thick mane, he is portrayed with dark olive skin and golden trousers. Fighting for the protection of orphans and the freedom of slaves.

Through retellings, additions, variations, Toro is attributed with many heroic deeds. He is the protector of orphans, popular depicted as a showman who performs to raise money for an orphanage. Additionally, he is a freedom fighter, said to have freed slaves of both Awenativian, American, and African origins.

Lore around Toro is rich with a body of usual characters, recurring over the span of his existence. These include his lover, Pinellopi Boxum, his only friend Zhan Toji, and the small forest village town of Rio Dorada. In the northwestern end of Middex province, the village is apart of L'Boutte. Though, it lies in the hidden forest mountain. His chief opponent is bounty hunting conquistador Hernan, constantly on the search for Toro and Rio Dorado.

A common theme of the story is that Toro is a champion of the commoner fighting against injustice, whilst remaining loyal to his nation's hierarchy. Although, he is highly sceptical of the french colony of L'Boutte; often having a minor opponent in Sheriff Tsouuant.

There have been numerous variations and adaptations of the story over the last six hundred years, and the story continues to be widely represented in literature, film and television. d'Ana Toro is considered one of the best known tales of Awekian folklore.

Ballads and Tales

Early ballads

The earliest surviving balled of d'Ana Toro is 'The Act of Territory', currently preserved in the St. Jestor Literary Museum. Believed to have been written in 1590, the ballad was not originally about d'Ana Toro. Instead, being a morality question of of nationalist against humanitarianism. But, in years since, it has been accepted as a piece of Torovian legend.

A soldier in the Battle of Tzian leaves his men to defend a wagon of children. Abandoning his squadron to die on the hill, he fought off spanish conquistadors to save the vessel. Failing to defend his nation, in the death of his brothers in arms, he was discharged from the military in shame. Taking the children to geistic temple in Lower Tizoc, he left them in the hand of Zhan Toji, a monk of solitude.

'Toro tzu d'Me'zex' is accepted as the first official Torovian tale. A direct follow up to the Act, this ballad places Toro in the village of Rio Dorada. After delivering the orphans to Toji, the two moved the small rural village to build a orphanage temple and protect the children. The tale involves the origins of the big cat mask, and his persona as the protector of the poor. Many of the stories place Toro instances where he does great feats of strength, power, and skill to raise money for the orphans.

Freedom Fighter Age

In the late 1700s, Toro saw a resurgence of tales, with the growing presence of foreigners in French Awekia. 'Kiyō o d'Ana' was a book that surfaced under a unknown author. Presently held at Alexandrea University Library, the journal was written to be the memoirs of the folkloric hero, who was two centuries old, by that point.

In the novel, Toro notes his disgust with the act of slavery and oppression that took place in the Spanish colony. And, the memoirs illustrates his voyage into the heart of the colony. Toro would steal away the likes of African and American slaves, as well as his fellow Awenativians.

The memoirs made Toro a cultural hero for the marronan minority.

The Escape

Among the most popular of the freedom fighter series of tales, the Escape was a famous ballad of rebellion against the spanish. Ironically told orally in Spain and the Wessex province, it presented an instance where Toro was captured by the Spanish. Held in a towered prison, jailed in preparation to be hanged, the hero was content in his status.

Said to be jailed in Rico y Mesa beach, he fought the guards to keep his face secret. Left to starve for a week, he stared at the ocean and sung to the moon.

No Caption Provided

"T'is I, t'is I, the fool is the mask

A wish upon thee is all that I ask

No glory nor gold, no longing for thee

Just look towards the Rio in loving safety.

For, the children, they need you far more than I

A long shamed fool who stares at the sky

I call up you, my Lunana divine

I so passively stand by your side"

~ the Song of Toro

The following day, a woman would show up on the steps of the jail, titling herself as Panellipi Boxum, she referred to herself as his wife. Speaking spanish, and dressed flirtatiously with her breast displayed prominently, the guards allowed her entry. And inside, she revealed to Toro that under her cleavage, she hid two screws, a file, and a a foot long knopia knife. SHe helped the hero escape, by stripping them both down and tying their clothing together to form a rope.

He lowered her first, using his strength to control the full figured woman, down the 30 ft tower. Afterwards, he climbed down, and they ran to the beach, where she had a boat. Taking sail to Rio Dorada, the storey ends with the two actually getting married.

Toro and the Old Man of the Mountain

One of the more known tales of torovian legend, the Old Man of the Mountain is the tale of Toro's encounter with the supposed shaman of the rainforest hilltop. Being the first story to include the hideout of Toro's, it centers around Toro trying to help the children of Rio Dorada overcome their fears, after hearing Lovneer d'Jestor telling the story of the Old Man of the Mountain. Scaring the orphans, Little Berry Finn tells Toro, who takes Finn and Lovneer into the mountain to prove the absence of the boogeyman.

But, while up there, he actually encounters the old man. A shaman of wickdry, the figure stood seven feet and beared a five foot beard. He wore nothing but a loin cloth and bandages. Toro defeats the man and takes on the mountain as his home, to change the summit from a symbol of fear.

Mythology

While Tor is not a figure of Awenativian myth, much of his character draws influence from the myths. Much of his personality traits have been compared to Gokuken. His mask is thought to be a reference to Leo, the sky god of the Zodiceak pantheon. And, he is often written referring to nature as the gods. For instance, he refers to the moon as Lunana.

The theory that Sweet Pea Boxum is actually Lunana, personified to assist his efforts are still heavily debated by fan and scholars alike.

Locations

Rio Dorado

The majority of the ballads and tales of Toro involve his hidden home, Rio Dorado. A small village in the northwestern end of central Middex, the fictional town is said to be to the port of the Long river's Sugar Hill curl, north of Ol' Brasil, and east of L'Boutte.

In 1840, a small port town in northern Ol' Brasil renamed itself Rio Dorada, because of its homing the many sites specified in torovian legend; including the Long trail, the zhan temple on Abbey street (now named after Toji). As well, the summit of Sugar Hill was the primary reason for the linkage, being believed to be Toro's hideout from the authorities.

Lower Tizoca

The southern region of Tizoca has claimed that Toro was a citizen of their city. Insisting that he came back to Lower Tizoc after the war, as illustrated in the Act, it is believed that he lived in Berryshire, the forestside jungle villa to the southwest of the city. As well, the "zhanic temple of solace" is thought to be the Uino Eur d'Tozo, along the district of Tizotaka.

Awekian Dancings

Awekia is popularly known for the creation of a select few dances.

Chicha

The oldest of the Awekian dances, Chicha is traditionally known to have been a ceremonial mating dance of the Awenativian people, with early documentation dating back to the 8th century. Performed between two people, a couple move in unison with one another, in a side-to-side fashion. Moving three steps from one side to the other, a dancer shifts their weight by stepping. The upper body remains level and nearly unaffected by the weight changes, causing a sway of the hips; similar to cuban dances, such as the salsa. Arm and shoulder movements are also incorporated.

Chicha could be danced to many different genres of music.

By the end of 2017s, Forbes published an article stating that he received around $50 million off of the clothing line, boosting his net worth up to $120 million.

He would have a hour long special filmed for his concert at the Hahuohwii Done. The special, titled 'Fresh Awekian Breeze', premiered on June 8, 2017. In which Kidd talks about the plight of depression, his geistic upbring, marronan heritage, and how he stays humble. Followed by the video premiere to 'Sweet Chariot', the album's title was finally revealed on his instagram, along with the album artwork, created by him. Calling it his "delve into R&B and sexy funk", he spoke of it as 'rubba dub music'. On October 13, 'Chocolate Honey V' was released on Spotify and Apple.

Artistry

Influence

Fresh Kidd has stated that his largest influences were Bob Marley and Tijuano, both musically and philosophically. He grew up hearing caribbean and marronan music in his household. In a 2014 interview, he states that Rage against the Machine's de la Rocka is a huge influence on him. But, Felix has always stated that rapping isn't his first and only means of music, regularly stating that the harmonic style of 90s dancehall to be his true inspiration to begin rapping.

Buju Banton is his favourite dancehall artist, quoting that "his style and lyrics were so dope, and gave so much to my style". Besides 70s Jamaican and Maronan music, Fresh Kidd's largest influence was that of 90s dancehall and merengue music.

Musical Style

On the topic of which genres he believed he was in, Felix said

"I wouldn't say I'm genre-less. Because, my music is very much influence my the core sounds that uplifts me. Roots reggae, chichano, deep funk, dub, roots rock, those are the biggest influences on me. The roots of my spirit and history is so important to me. So, I would categorize myself as roots.".

Critics have proclaimed that he helped a american scene of renguehall get its start in the mainstream. Upstarting GFM, he is credited with birthing the 'Awekian sound' of hip hop in america. Harmonic and rich in vocal ability, and heavily in use of grooving dancehall rhythms, his music have been the controversy of debates over if it was Hip Hop or R&B. Along with artist like Drake, he has been heavily criticized by the core hiphop community for helping to usher in a wide acceptance for a more harmonically vocalized form of rap.

Lyrically, Fresh Kidd states that, "I try to keep my lyrics about me and my feelings. If it does say anything about what I've been through, or how I see the world, I [recycling]bin it". His content is usually about his day-to-day life with women, society, friends, wealth. He heavily speaks skeptical about religion and promotes individual idealism.

Since his signing, in 2011, the label was developing more and more to fit his image and style, Felix immediately saw to bringing in artist that fit his style and ideas.

The label is distributed by Interscope, and featured Fresh Kidd and Hashtag Dollar Sign as their inisial artist. The house eventually signed Nikwind Blaqk, Marky Funkcy, Olkasami, and Stuntz. Tijuano

No Caption Provided

Arguable Awekia's most popular musical artist, Tijuano was the founding figure of the Chichano sound. Often acclaimed as the most important and innovative artist in Awekian history, his enriched sound crossed funky reggae with latin jazz, creating a ritualistic spirit that achieved international superstardom and catapulted Awekian culture to the heights of global music scene. Like many contemporaries of his time, his poetic lyrics spoke of living in love and peace with nature and mankind, bringing justice to the oppressed, and ambitions of unity. Naturalism, spiritualism, passivism, and even stoicism, Awenativian and amerindian folklore were all apart of the progressive fusion of traditional of Aewkiana and Americana. Propelling his geistic beliefs of fluidity into over 300 million album sales of a rich discography of music.

Tijuano hold much cultural and social significance in Awekian history, being a important figure of the Monopolini v. Popullop election, and the Questrian Annexation Period. He popularly stood against the terrorism of d'Natrox'de Quez Klux, and was controversially jailed for a week, nearly insighting international issues. He was acclaimed for political activism, messages of spiritual love and sexuality, as well as geistism.

Bio

  • Early Life

Tijuano was born Tijuano Eirlupe Boutteliz, on March 13, 1945, in upperhill Guarma; son of a blue collar marronan father and a Awenativian mother, who moved to Guarma to teach Awekian, he grew up in geistic school, raised solely by his low-class religious mother, only having the memory of guitar playing to remind him of his father. He received his first musical experience by playing bongos and maracas for his mother's alter. He would often skip classes to sneak into juke shacks and watch the salsia dancing and bands. He would start writing poetry after the encouragement of a zhan, and begin forming songs by the age of 15, shorty before running away to Rockport, Texjara. There, he would perform as a house musician, playing percussion in the late night club of the Balavoe Cavlon, behind Heviare Lopori. Earning little money, he was paid in food, and began working as a ferry rower by day, for money. Playing long sets through the night, he spent hundreds of hours onstage during his six year stay in the portcity.

While in Rockport, he would meet many foreigners vacationing and immigrating to the country, coming from wealthier and poorer nations alike, he would hear many southern and central american influences. But, after little success as a musician, he began to focus on working as a ferry rower for tourist, in 1966. He would return to Balavoe, after gaining an audience as a street musician, playing psychedelic style genre of latin jazz, using his guitar and blueier rhythms, he formed the early works of Chicano. As the 70s began, popular demand led Tijuano to the forefront of the Balavoe All-Stars. In June of 1967, Michél Johannez visited the club to hear the sound of chicano. The two would begin working together in Johannez's personal studio, recording this "new sound", and they would record a wealth of material, covering latin and awekian folk songs, in both aewkian and spanish. 'Chan Chan', 'Guantanemera', 'Linda Munequita', were three of the popular singles that were released to the Awekian radio. They would reach #3 on the charts with 'Mi La Mar', a upgrade to the Django Reinhardt classic, which would crossover to European radio in mid-68. Garnering some success and attention, Tijuano would take a break amidst the news of his mother's passing, shortly after the murder of his father in the summer of that year, the 23 year old guitarist shifted away from cover songs and more towards creating his own music.

His strive towards giestism and naturalism would be exemplified in the release of Aewkiana (November 1968). The eight song album would birth the chicano song, before anyone had a name for it. He would receive wide praise for his imaginative lyrics of oneness with nature and uplifting hymns; called ritualistic by many, it's thick rhythms would immediately take to the clubs and dance life of the nation. Songs like 'Jingo li Zhan' would speak of topics such as loneliness and oppression, leading it to popularity with the youth and the impoverished in latin countries and europe. Michel and he would go on tour through Awekia and southern Europe to promote their music and sound. And with they returned in 1969, the sound was named 'Chicano'. Garnering much success and popularity, the two held differing ideas of where they planned for the music to go, with Michel wanted a more dance focused pop sound of big orchestrated tunes, although, Tijuano visioned a more intimate sound, personal and intimate sound that spoke heavily on spiritualism and naturalism. He would go on a hiatus in 1968, writing and recording a followup to Aewkiana, to much await. Until, in the spring of 69, Johannez would encourage him to do a live album. Recorded in that spring, at the Alcyeeia Stadium in Englstland City to a attendance of 150,000, they filmed the show, releasing the live album in 1970, 'The Roots of Chicano'. Afterwards, the two would split musically, with Michel stepping into the Awekian pop scene, Tijuano would become more isolated and reclusive.

  • 1973-74: Rooted Era, signing to Balavoe & Island

Though the two separated, they remained linked under the Balavoe All-Stars record label. Signing to the upstart label, started by Johannez, with the money of his estate, they made a publishing deal with Island Records, to distribute to Europe. Island funded a studio in North Denni St., New Engstland, the first state-of-the-arts studio that Tijuano had ever used. Javier Roma was sent to engineer their sound, and hone it for a commercial sound.

With many awaiting his followup album, he would debut video vignettes of 'Oh Brasil'and 'Sinking Stone'. He would meet Orzha Yemajita (born May 26, 1945), a hit star on Awekian radio and television. Wanting to learn of his process, Tijuano introduced her to his studio, and they soon began writing together. Reworking his band, he would go back to the Balavoe Calvon. Recording another live recording, more small scale and intimate than before, 'Balavoe' was released in 1971, with the single 'Mama Pabua Tu'reaching the top 20 in Britain, Europe, Awekia and the U.S. The album would see Yemajita regularly back him, vocally, with far more personal lyrics about his lost and celebration of life, his journey to redemption and introspective peace. His personal life was still one of solitude, even as his relationship deepened with Orzha. A former journalist and college intellectualist, she broadened his attention to the racial and political unrest in the world, and in Awekia. The economic and racial turmoil in Questria and south America struck a chord with him, as he tuned his next effort on the lower class of the Sussex county. 'Mountain in Chains', released in March of 1973, displayed politically charged anthems like 'Reviolo di Khan' and 'Police y Thieves', which greatly pointed figures to the Awekian government and the evils of the fallen Questrian regime who racially, economically, and systematically oppressed the impoverished lower class, 'Anacaona the Great' told the story of the Awenativian folk princess who fought against slavery and regained her royal status. The album reached number one in Awekia and Australia, the top twenty in the UK and US, as well as in South America.

Between 73 and 74, Tijuano's personal life was one of much public demand, as his relationship with Orzha developed into a marriage on June 16, 1974. All of 1973 saw campaigns and protest against violence, human and civil right violations in the western world. They began performing the live jam versions of Victor Jarasongs, the satirically comedic 'La Beata', depicting a religious woman with a crush on the priest to whom she goes for confession. Banned in Chile, the single was a commercial hit. Though he openly displayed no interest in socialism or Communism, he strongly spoke out against the corrupt governments in Chile, of which he and his music was banned from visiting the country. Tijuano outspokenly admitted to not personally being affected by the ban.

In the summer of 1973, off of the success of Mountain in Chains, Tijuano purchases thirteen acres of woodland in the countryside of L'Boutteprovince, Cobblestone Villa Grovewas built by the end of the year. Giving him solace from the fans and outside world, he constructed a studio within his home, and began recording their. As Johannez and Roma both noted that they saw Tij rarely afterwards. In his villa, he filled it with artwork and the people he loved.

"I've never been inside [Cobblestone Villa]; He was very specific about the people that he allowed in. Tij didn't like me much, back then, he would either have Hevi or Michel bring me the music."

~ Javier Roma

Tijuano hired Heviare Lopori to manage him, assisting him in honing a sharper and deeper sound. Between April and September of 1974, the Cobblestone studio was heavily used to record new material, of which was comprised onto a double album, 'Cobblestone Garden'. Ranging from blues and reggae-inspired tunes, the studio album was released on November 17.

  • 1975-77: Rebellion, infamous southern tour

His first visit to the states started well in California with the selling out in San Francisco, and successful attendance in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. He would open his shows with a meditative hymn, 'Hand of Pol'. His wife often lit incense and rang bells (a ritual of geistism). However, the tour was plagued with caution, as the latter leg headed to the south. While Texas and Louisiana saw good showings, they constantly receive calls threatening to harm them both. Seeing segregation still in the people, he commented that he "strongly disliked the south, and it's backwards idea of life". Experiencing insults and confrontation because of his faith, which many viewed as antireligious, his strong stance on racial inclusion and harmony, and cultural differences from conservative americans of the time, many called to protest his music and concerts; resulting in the cancelling on one of his shows in Mississippi. Because of this, he began recording upon his stay in Michigan. In what would be known as the 'Wanted Man, in Noman's Land' sessions. In this rehearsal, 'Zombie', 'Crimson Sunday', 'Joshua's Sturdy Tree', and 'Exodus o' di Creoleio' were all heavily influenced by his witnessing of the south. Speaking against the corruption of religion and the government in assistance in "oppressive propaganda", he would controversially perform the new music in Georgia, along with a live jam cover of Joe Cuba's 'El Pito'.

After a riot broke out between dancing fans and the outraged opposers, Tijuano was arrested for inciting violence. He spent a week in jail, missing three of his tour dates, before his manager bailed him out. Finishing the tour (which he would called the El Pito Tour) with Miami and New York, he would continue to perform the same songs, incorporating El Pito into 'El Pito Vivo (the Rebellion)', a righteous call for standing against systemic evils. With all of the pop scene talking about his rebellious fight against the south, he became a worldwide figure of activism. And, in August of 1975, 'Voo'Hu Doo Rebellion' was released to critical and commercial acclaim. The album would go on to hit number one in both Awekia and Latin America, on August 30, and would hold that spot for the entire month of September in Awekia.

  • 1975: The Yoruba Diaspora Dates

By the end of the year, after many of his dates were cancelled out of controversy, Tij would change his booking to travel to the Caribbean islands that would host him. Starting within the Marronan island of Guarma, he filmed the event on October 17, 1975. Preforming to a sold out crowd he then travel Costa Rica. To the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Jamaica, he would finish in Colombia.

  • Questrian Uprising, studio stabbing, and d'Natrox'de Quez Klux

Returning to Awekia in February of 1976, he was met with shock at the political state of the territory of Questria. Still suffering under the economic weight of having to pay debts to Awekia for WWII, Tij reported being truly hurt by the lives that they were forced into, as their fellow Awekians brothers watched. He blamed the Awekian government for not stepping in and assisting the island. Even with the prevalent controversy in the discussion of Awekia annexing Questria. Tijuano was a firm believer in the reunion of the two nations, while he received negative views from both Awekians who feared taking on the debt and poverty of the southern island, and nationalistic Questrians who still blamed the nation of Awekia with much hostility and anger.

The d'Natrox'de Quez Klux, an extremist political group that saw both the Awekian monarchy as evil and corrupted, and Tij as a spy to bring the downfall of their state, travelled to his concert in Vice Beach, where they threw canisters of smoke bombs and fireworks at the stage. Though, Tijuano continued playing, with heavy security presence, as the area became clouded with smoke. Infamourly, he would close the show by stating in Awenativian...

"These men the ugliness of the world. May Terana rid the nastiness from them - like the air will these mist, and we shall see the glory of the world. Live in togetherness and peace. Goodnight!".

Afterwards, he was arrest by the national guard for inciting violence. Sent to a jailhouse in southern Vice, he was held in a maximum cell, because of the population of inmates allied to Quez Klux. He spent two weeks in jail, under neglect of food, harsh sleeping and hygienic conditions, and physical abuse from the guards, who disliked his insistence on the annexation. He would write in a poem...

"I saw ghost, when I was in there - buried under earth and blunt. Behind those dirt walls of roach browns and piss yellows, I met forces that jolted me from sleep. Unable to rest again, they gripping mi cheeks, as a grandmother would to her little pepo. Telling mi, in whispers as strong as the bushy fire of Soliz, muttering the syllables of gunshots and bomb fire, another cold night would come to use all. And, it pried the fright that replaced the pitted hell of the ditch that they called my prison. A captivity unlike any other would hold them down with bars of nylon strong and brick of bonga beats."

Tijuano, on being jailed in 1976

News of his arrest made headlines in the Awekia, the U.S., U.K, France, and Japan, to high contentment. And, after the news of his entrance into the medical ward, after being repeatedly stabbed by a member of Quez Klux, public uproar continued. He was eventually released on March 17, 1976, by Mickel Monopolini, to immediately go to record is next few singles. 'Ghost of Questria' and 'The March to Apokolo' were both recorded amongst a entire night of material.

Coverage of the entire fiasco of events between the parties and the political unrest, Tijuano's music became the soundtrack to the time.

  • Personal controversy

The following year would see much publicity for Tijuano, with many interviews and documentation of his life. Admiration over his private lifestyle of naturalism, a promise to never go to America again, as well as controversy over his polygamous relationship with his wife and Nyxi Styx, the man saw much love and hate. He received much criticism over the public knowledge of their adultery. In an 1982 interview, Donni Yeevezadmitted that he learn of the affair after listening to 'She came to Mi at Twilight'. A sweet love song that Nyxi would also later admit that Tijuano wrote about her, baring many lyrics that personally related to them. Varying accounts of the encounter between the two men exist, with Don stating that he pulled a gun on Tijuano, whereas Nyxi denies that. Though, Michel has said that they did fight, which would lead to Don leaving the group and the label.

While most praised his positive lyrics and message, passive persona, other demonized him as a anti-american, satanic, and a corrupter of the youth. Singles like 'Beat Oye to Blairiuz', 'Eyes Wide Shut', 'And the River Sings', all embraced a satirical take on his image in America. But, with many death threats to him and his wife, he returned his attention to activism and protest. And, by 1977, Questria was officially annexed into Awekia, with a nationwide assistance of the impoverished people. Following this, he held a concert of love and happiness, 'Freedom Song', which would be the name of his following album. 'Boat to Tzian',and 'Hanz y'ana', were both uplifting songs of togetherness and peace, which he debuted at the magnificent.

In the following years, he would continue the Freedom Song tour across southeast Asia, the Pacific, Europe, and central America. 'The Bird is Free' was the first single to 'Lasting Howl', of which was his last album before his death. Tijuano would learn of his leukemia in July of 1979. He would be found dead in his garden on March of 1980.

Musicianship

Songwriting

Tijuano wrote the majority of his songs, with few exception. In a 1974 interview with D&C Magazine, he mentioned his writing style as starting with short "poetic quips that then develop into full songs".

Being raised as a ferry boy, he was bilingual, and could speak Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese, as well as Awekian and Marrona Creole. His lyrics often inter mixed with Awekian and Latin language.

Guitar style

A steel string replica of a Tijuana 13 Ac/El
A steel string replica of a Tijuana 13 Ac/El

Tijuano's guitar work has been observed as being flexible and versatile. Popularly, he played a specialized nylon string acoustic-electric guitar that he named Tijuana, later modeled after him, Tijuana 13 Ac/El.

Tij's style of guitar playing has been characterized for its straightforward use of arpeggiated riffs and jazz influenced chords and progressions. Rolling Stone has referred to his ability as...

"Gravely underrated in terms of kill and ability. Tijuano bears a style that is signiturely his own. Bright and romantically enriched, his licks rotate in a tornado of arpeggio."

Usually, up-tuning his guitar, Tijuano played on the lower frets and mostly on the first through to fourth strings.

Bongos

Often shown live, Tijuano would improvise bongo performances.

Personal Life

Religion

Tijuano was raised as a polist geist, under his mother's care, influencing much of his viewpoints and ideals. However, he became more of a follower of blarism, though he often proclaimed that religion was not important to him.

"Religion is a very futile thought, in mi mind, to be honest with you. Mi madre was the religious one; and I guess she instilled spiritualism in me. But, I feel what I feel. And, what I feel in nature to mi, as wetness is to water. Geistism is a philosophy of unity and togetherness in life and nature. I am one with the world, as it is with me. Our spirits are all conjoined. Mi need no book or construct to define that. Just mi eyes on nature."

~ Tijuano, when asked about religion

Tijuano and his wife would often meditate and light incense on stage. He was heavily criticised by conservative audiences in America for his rituals and light-hearted spiritualism. Called satanic, his music was boycotted in the south for his criticism of religion and philosophy on naturalism. Although, Tijuan highly respected the faiths of others, and would regularly attend ceremonies in respect of whatever country's religion he met with.

Relationships

A popular aspect of Tijuano's persona was the freeness in his personal life. A man who considered himself to be "intimate with all facets of life", he was known for being flirtatious and a passive romantic. Michel Johannez, once in a interview...

"It's that ferryboy culture. [laughter] When I was young, every boy wanted to be a ferry rower, like out of the movies. If you could pull it off; tourist always fell for the romance of the islander charm. And, he had that charm"

~ Michel Johannez

Although, Orzha Yemajita blamed his promiscuous social lifestyle on his solitary background and separative habits. In a interview in 1987, she would proclaim...

"[He] was a very introverted man. A destined lonely, he would say; he only allowed few into his 'world'. And, that was definitely true of women. He only fell for the ones that he truly believed he open up to; there's very few of us [laugh]."

~ Orzha Yemajita

While in a longterm relationship with Orzha, from 1972 to his death in 1980, it was controversial revealed that he slept with Sunwood Myx leader singer, Nyxi Styxs, behind the back of then-boyfriend Donni Yeevez. To much criticism because of this, Tijuano remained close to Nyxi afterwards, and would even birth a child (Zara Boutteliz) shortly afterwards.

He was a avid practicer of Awekia custom of open love, having a polygamous relationship for most of his life. However, he also had a affair with his backup singer, Rita Quivanilyia. Both of which spoke of their stay at his garden ranch. In a 2003 interview, Nixy stated that they were all young and living in the hippie attitude of looseness.

Tijuano famously had a relationship with Carmonela d'Artagnan, who often came down to the Balavoe Calvon to listen to his sets. She would later come forward about their relationship, admitting to first met him in 1967. By the end of 68, they began dating each other. In a interview, he would state that their time together was "beautiful and bliss", being mostly fun dancing and dining late at night.

"Carmonela was a dear beauty, to me, when I was a youngen. She would see me after mi sets, and dance the night away with me."

~Tijuano

Though he never married, and had a open statue of continuous adultery, he remained committed to Orzha as his love. Throughout the 70s, until his death, he would have relations with Carmonela and Nyxi; all three of which he had children with. When asked about it, he stated "Orzha and I have a understanding, that only we would understand. We expect no one to understand."

Many consider Tijuano to be the figurehead and cultural symbol that birthed of 'Marronatism'. A movement that saw the demographic minority of the Marrona become the centerpiece of Awekian pop culture. Because of his influence, regions of historic Marronan population possess the likes of statues, streets, and parks named after Tij. He has both a tree and and fruit named after him.

"Before Tijuano, the marronan people were a rather small group of isolated communities scattered across the diaspora of Awenativian influence; Until Tijuano. The humbleness of someone who was only part Awekian was washed away, as he spoke power into his proud cultural history. Unity and togetherness, he brought to the ghettos and street kids. Words of love and peace, acceptance in who he was and what the world was, made him loved. And, his music rebirthed Awekia into anew."

~ Rob Lithersworth, Rolling Stone Mag, 1987

Tij's image has became one of passiveness, and a iconic symbol of the passive aggressive fight. As well, his uses of Afro-latin and native american themes has made him a popular symbol among said demographics, as well as Awekians. Much merchandising is sold around the world of his image and words. Cobblestone Garden, his childhood home, and his recording studio are all memorial museums to his fame.

Furthermore, because of his unfortunate death, in the same times as his birthdate, the three days of the 10th to 13th are celebrated as Dios di lez Tijuano. Starting on the year after his death, it began after a quote of him having wanted his fans to celebrate his life, instead of mourning his death.

The Rise of the Warhammer

No Caption Provided

Thiago 'the Warhammer' Ravara is a Awekian mixed martial artist, and the current UFC heavyweight champion. Trained in Military Pasola and Tikataku, he has wins over the likes of Cain Velasquez, Junior dos Santos, Daniel Cormier, and Fabrício Werdum. He is the second double champion in UFC history, after Conor McGregor, with both the UFC Heavyweight Championship and UFC Light Heavyweight Championships; with many considering him the best heavyweight mixed martial artist in the world.

Biography

Born on February 16, 1985, in Gutzsky Creek, Los Grandios, Sussex, Awekia, Thiago Abdias Taj Ravara y Marcipo was raised in the Gaelzhan Creek. He attended Gaelzhan High, held a interest in pro-wrestling. Training in a small catch wrestling gym, he fought in local competitions and at clubs. Wanting a career in the WWE, he was rejected numerous times by scouts of the organization. As a teenager, he became affiliated with Los Cranios, to the fear of his mother. His uncle, brother of his mother and a former Zuko, took him to Empire Bay, once he graduated. There, he sought out Olympian hall of famer and ex-wrestler Will Boutte, of the famed Imperial Pack Clubhouse, to train; gaining an official rank in pasola, reaching third degree black belt in the art. And while he was there, he encountered mixed martial arts for the first time, and soon began training in it.

In 2006, Thiago made his mma debut at the club's fight night, against Klopi Moss. Winning via standing guillotine, he soon focused on mma fully, and continued training. He made his professional debut as a light heavyweight against Mo Mo Bak, winning with a TKO in the third round. Following that, his second and third fight saw him win with guillotines. He began to become popular in the Middex region, before he would lose his fourth fight against Tijre Tylor May. Facing May again, Seth won with a series of body uppercuts, resulting in a TKO. After that, he went on a five match winning streak, between 2009 - 13. Winning the MMM light heavyweight championship, he went on to win the SMM and WMM light heavyweight championship, before losing the MMM to Khan Juanez. After that, he won the EMM championship, becoming one of seven fighters to win titles from all four region. Thiago became nationally known soon after, achieving televised fights and interviews.

In interview, Thiago began to become known for his assertive attitude and lively antics. Prickly and rude with the press, childishly playful with the fan, he became loved by the watchers. He would build his celebrity persona with videos of his training methods; running with wolves, working of footwork by dancing to chichano music, and regularly visiting geistic temples.

And with a reputation for surviving violently aggressive fights, many spoke of him competing in the UFC, and against the top fighters in the world. In fact, his growing popularity in Australia and England helped him land a recorded deal with Dude SG. $20 million in 2010, for the creation of a line of workout clothing, 'Pakgear' was debuted in 2012. The line recuperated a estimated $500 million of revenue in 2012, before he resigned for an recording $300 million.

In late 2012, Will Boutte held a meeting with Dana White, to negotiate the idea of him coming over. And, Thiago was signed at the end of the year. The contract allowed the Pak gym to continue using his Warhammer moniker in the Dude SG deal.

Before his first ufc fight, Rivara had a series of fights in Japan's Tokyo dome, to fulfill his short contract with Shooto. Sign to appear in a Shooto tournament, Thiago successfully made his way to the final round, against his fellow Pack brother,Yoshi Ravinati, in a round that lasted seven rounds, ending in a victory via clinching elbow strikes. After the fight, fans began referring to his strikes as hammer. Soon, he started celebrating his fights with his arm cannon taunts and fully took on the 'Warhammer' gimmick.

He fought in the fifth Shooto tournament, taking three months off to take place in the tournament.

2013 - UFC Time

Ravara would sign to UFC in much of a high profile signing. Heavily supported in Awekian American communities, the UFC billed him as a counter to the Brazilian fighters; playing off of the natural sporting rivalry between Awekia and Brazil. But, a few months later, he would be asked to drop to middleweight and face Rousimer Palhares. A fight that stemmed from the feud that the two fighters actually had, Ravara openly admitted that he disliked Palhares for being a dirty fighter; to which, Rous challenged him to a fight, in 2010. Dropping fifteen pounds by december, he would defeat the brazilian in Australia with a scissors choke. Winning in spectacular fashion, he told...

"I really wanted to knock him out. But, at middleweight, I felt like mi power was gone. So, I choked him."

Afterwards, he immediately returned to light heavyweight, when a doctor suggested he not go that low again, after he recalled feeling faint. His first fight in the light heavyweight division was against Dan Henderson, and brought in a sold out crowd in Japan and high buy rates from both Awekia and the coastal cities of the U.S. Victorious in two round fight against the veteran fighter, Thiago was quickly seen as a upstart in the company, with many wanting to see him face Jon Jones. And with a few months, he faced Lyoto Machida to a decision victory. A match in the heat of Brazil, the fight caught him world attention, after three five minute rounds of successfully defending and attacking the veteran.

The fight received great praise, winning Fight of the Night and eventually Fight of the Year. Ravara became a star, there after. And, many theorized the future of his chance as Light Heavyweight champion. However, a month after the fight, Thiago announced his decision to move up to heavyweight.

"I feel comfortable at 205 and up, the power, the strength, that's where I belong - Not 190 [pounds]"

In January of 2014, it was announced that his next opponent would be Junior Dos Santos. Thought to be an uphill battle for Ravara, many sided with the experienced heavyweight to win the fight, and head to fight for the championship. But, Ravara would show his power during the fight, absorbing a series of dangerous blows and knocking out Dos Santos. He would go on to defeat Overeem in similar fashion, snuffing nearly ever offencive move the larger fighter had against him. Going on to show more power, he would defeat Cain Velasquez in june of 2015 with a chain of manhandling suplexes, eventually resulting in knocking him out.

His next fight was against Fabricio Werdum, where he would suffer him first UFC lose. Matching each other for most of the round, Werdum managed to get Thiago into a peruvian necktie. Falling unconscious before he could tap, Ravara was submitted into a knockout. Afterwards, he immediately wanted a rematch; to much positive reaction. And, in May of 2016, the rematch would be dated. Ravara v. Werdum II was one of the high grossing fights and discussed fights of the year.

After the fight, he finally got a shot at the UFC Heavyweight championship, when he was offered a deal for UFC 211 on May 13, 2017.

Mixed martial arts fighting style

Ravara is known to be a standup fighter, relying on aggressive punches and mid-to-lower body kicks. Always the aggressor, he regularly acts at cutting off the ring of his opponent with heavy body strikes and leg kicks. Right handed, he unorthodoxly uses his left hand more often, jabbing for distance before using his right in either a hook or uppercut. This use of his sneaking right arm has ended many fights, and is viewed as his most dangerous striking tactic. As well, especially early in his fighting career, he was known for powerful low kicks.

On occasion, he has shown the ability to utilize moving strikes on the defensive, against pursuing opponents. Ravara has been praised for his fly-back right hook. Often called the 'Pied Piper of Parry', he has became known for his fast counters.

His fighting stance is that of a standing pasola practitioner, with his feet positioned close to one another, while mildly bouncing on the balls of his feel. His weight interchanges from front to rear, with his focus on bursting attacks. Closed guards of open palms, he counters attacks with shoots inside of his opponent's guard with standing chain grapples. When grappling, the standing guillotine is his most used maneuver.

As most known of him, Seth's strength and power has been called his strongest attribute. Baring the ability to lift his own body weight with relative ease, he has been noted for out-wrestling nearly all of his opponents. Stalking after opponents' limbs, he's shown an abnormal amount of control in gripping power.

Ravara is known to train to music, often playing and shadow boxing to chichano music. When asked, he claimed that it calms his nerves and helps him maintain rhythmically loose and free flowing.

Rivara will almost always engage in trash talk and "psychological warfare" against his opponents, which has led to comparisons to Conor McGregor. He feeds into his Warhammer persona as intimidation tactics.

Personal life

- Criminal background, Zuko linkage

Ravara was raised in a lower-class area of Sussex, Awekia, and was involved in street gang Los Cranios. He open speaks against gang violence and joining gangs. He thanks his uncle for introducing him to mixed martial arts and getting him out of the gang.

"I was a troubled youth, who felt like I had no one to be their with me - but them. Ironically, mi uncle saved mi from that.".

He has confirmed that his uncle was, at one time, an active Zuko. Though, he states that his family is no longer involved with the lifestyle. Because of this, much controversy has been made over his back and sleeve tattoos. Done in a traditional Awenativian style, many have claimed that they are Zuko tattoos. However, he proclaims that they are family crests to honour his family and his history.

When asked about the Conor McGregor bus incident, Ravara said

"There's not much I can say. I felt sorry for Rose; all parties, really. But, I can't condemn Conor for what he did. It was a terrible act. But, I've sure done worse. Back in Vice, I was a absolute roughian, a thug. I've done things that I'll never be able to live down, or get retribution for. My soul is forever scared. And, I can't help but feel sorry for Conor as well...hopeful he could get forgiveness for this; from all involved. Including himself."

- Finances & Wealth

Ravara is estimated to be worth a bit around $50 million, making a lot of that before coming to the UFC. In fact, when asked about the restrictions of the UFC Reebok deal, he stated

"I'm very happy; I've made more than enough before coming to the UFC. So, "

By 2011, he had been primarily endorsed by the Imperial Wolf Pack Gymand Dude SG. Before coming to America, Dude SG gave him a recorded $20 million deal to create the line of 'Pakgear' shirts, shoes, and shorts. The line recuperated a estimated $500 million of revenue in 2012, before he signed with UFC.

As well, he was signed to a $20 million dollar deal with Beats by Dre, in 2016.

- Faith & Philosophy

Ravara is a Geist and Blarius practitioner, regularly bowing and kneeling before entering the octagon, in genuflexion. He admits to meditating and being a fan of philosophers. He has a Jeet Kune Do symbol on his right arm sleeve tattoo.

"Bruce Lee is mi biggest role model, he was a father figure to mi."

Ravara has described Lee's philosophy on martial arts as being "a very geistic view of life." Stating that he lives to the ideal of being flexible and adaptable to all that comes his way, both in and out of the octagon.

Ravara holds of superstitious fascination with the number 3. He has stated that thirteen is his favourite number. A thirteen is tattooed on his upper back, to signify it.

He has shown his dhovee wolves on many occasions, at his private estate. He owns three, Ukia, Toto, and Alicea. He has called them his spiritual motivation, and works out with them on a regular bases. Having homes in the wild, he owns two small cabins in both Canada and Australia, where he roams wildlife. Ravara has spoken numerously on the sport of game hunting, poaching, and animal rights. Striking controversy with the 2015 video of him hunting a water buffalo in Australia, he addressed the video.

"Hunting is apart of our history, and a element of the animal condition that is life. By hunting, killing, blessing, and consuming a creature of the wild, I am continuing on the lineage of my ancestors; our ancestors. I'm becoming one with life and nature, in the original order of being."

He has stated that he is against poaching and game hunting; and has claimed that his hunting is not for game, but for spiritual purposes of gaining oneness with nature.

- Relationships, family, friends

Much controversy has been made over Ravara and his personal life with women. Since his debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, he has had numerous rumorous connections to the Octagon Girls. In interviews, he would often flirt with interviewers and female fighters, alike.

In late 2015, it was revealed that he was dating strawweight fighter, Nicki Macc Hebe, after she was caught at a few of his train camp. Going on to be in her corner, at her UFC debut, they eventually came out as a couple by...

Ravara witnessed his older brother's death at the age of twelve. He has stated that the death left him "cold inside".
