Original Avengers The Avengers were formed when Loki, the God of mischief, made The Hulk see dynamite on train tracks that weren't there. Hulk trying to help jumped at the track's and smashed them in order to save the train that was coming. When Thor had arrived he thought that the Hulk was trying to destroy the people on the train ans was called to stop the Hulk from hurting the people. Thor needing help called Iron Man in to try and help him stop the Hulk. In the end they all found out that he god of mischief Loki was behind it all. Thor trying to settle everything went to Asgard and challenged Loki. Loki tried to get demons to kill Thor so he could cause more mischief! Thor then got the Hulk to Asgard to fight the giant demons, while Thor fought Loki. Loki was defeated by Thor and the Hulk with help from Wasp, Ant-Man and Iron Man. Hank Pym suggested that the heroes worked better together and came up with the idea to start a team to stop evil that one super-hero couldn't fight alone! His partner Wasp came up with the idea for the name saying that the groups name should be something colorful and dramatic. Thus the team name Avengers was born! Also known as "Earth’s Mightiest Heroes", the Avengers originally consisted of Ant-Man, Wasp, Thor, Iron Man, and the Hulk, all of whom were popular, established superheroes. Almost from inception, however, the roster has been fluid, with the Hulk departing and Captain America joining. The rotating roster has become a hallmark of the team, although one theme has been constant: the Avengers fight the foes that no single superhero could withstand - hence their famous cry of "Avengers Assemble!" To that end, the team has featured humans, robots, mutants, gods, aliens, supernatural beings and even former villains. Such as Hawkeye, Black Widow, Swordsman, and Sandman. Despite the diverse nature of the team (which often resulted in squabbling), the Avengers have always managed to unite into a cohesive unit to combat extraordinary threats.
