Top 10 MCU Movies
Avengers: Infinity War is the absolute peak of the MCU, 10 years of films built up to this highly anticipated event and it did not disappoint. The film focuses most of it's time on Thanos' journey, and does a great job of fleshing out his character and properly establishing his motives. This is complimented by impressive production (cinematography, soundtrack, visuals) and a stellar cast of characters who are played perfectly.
Avengers: Endgame is a love letter to MCU fans, with the new heroes gone. We get to spend a lot of time with beloved MCU icons for one last time, the charisma of these brilliantly developed characters keeps you hooked for the more mellow first 2 hours. Setting you up for an unforgettable epic final hour.
This film did a brilliant job of establishing new characters, implementing them into the story in a way that didn't feel forced. But more importantly, it provided an emotionally gripping story with the well handled conflict between the MCU's two flagship heroes.
The Winter Soldier is a perfect spy-thriller action movie, it is brilliantly paced and implements many classic action movie tropes. The action here is the MCU's best but most importantly, this was the film that turned Captain America into a fan favorite.
Iron Man is the film that began it all, and it still holds up as one of the MCU's finest movies. In just 2 hours Jon Favreau manages to get us invested in RDJ's Tony Stark and the other side characters and made us all eager to see more from this up and coming cinematic universe.
The most underrated entry of the MCU is Captain America's origin film. The characters here are established well, the film is well paced and it does a great job of setting up lots of possibilities for future films.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is a film that does a great job of providing an emotionally gripping, fun and most importantly unique version of Marvel's most popular character. While I do not think this is a good Spider-Man movie, it's a well made film that I can respect as it's own fresh take.
James Gunn's fun and wacky entry into the MCU is a fantastic one, despite none of the characters being well-known in pop culture, Gunn managed to make a fantastic team up film that manages to give all of it's leading characters enough screentime for us to understand and resonate with them.
The Avengers is a film that's success is derived from the interactions of it's characters, the cast have great chemistry keeping us hooked the whole time. The final action sequence was the first time we got a blockbuster superhero team up and it was epic. However, the film does have an extremely generic plot and took away much of Loki's depth from Thor (2011).
Thor: Ragnarok is the film that turned Thor from one of the meh Avengers to a fan favorite. Taika Watiti successfully unlocked the comedic potential of Chris Hemsworth and it's glorious. This, paired with the fun and fast paced plot, makes this a film that you simply can't get bored watching.
