Best Jedi and Sith in the Galaxy

In a galaxy far, far away there have been thousands of powerful beings gifted in the Force. In this list, I'm picking the best characters throughout the series.

With a new Star Wars Saga coming in, who knows what new Jedi or Sith will make an impact.

List items

  • A padawan to Anakin Skywalker, she is definitely one remarkable Jedi. At a young age, she has endured great trails during the Clone Wars and proven to be a very capable fighter and strategist. Almost wished she was a Jedi Knight in the end of the TV series. However a betrayal would cause her to leave the Order and forge a new life for her own. A warrior in her own right, Ahsoka has earned a great spot on this list.

  • It is without a doubt that Good ol'Ben Kenobi is truly the best. This character was been through great trials in his life: his journey as a Jedi Knight,a heroic defender of the Republic and mentor to the Skywalker family. There are many characters who have accomplished greater feats than him, yet it is Obi-Wan who introduced us to the mythology of the Jedi Knights and made it into the legend that it is today.

  • The Chosen One has played a definitive role in the Star Wars Saga, from the Phantom Menace, to the Return of the Jedi. His love and devotion for those he cared about made him a formidable ally and fearsome adversary. His downfall caused an entire galaxy to be engulfed in tyranny and darkness. Only the love of his son could bring redemption in his soul. Despite his heroics, his actions as the villain Darth Vader remained a true testament to his impact in the Star Wars legacy. Anakin Skywalker is truly the ultimate galactic Greek tragedy.

  • The tattooed Sith badass, who has made some fans love the prequels. He may have only had limited screen time in Episode I, but he gave quite an intimidating performance. Now, still alive during the Clone Wars Maul has proven to be even more fearsome adversary than ever before. Let hope his legend continues to live during (and hopefully beyond) the Original Trilogy era.

  • Size matters not, and this little green man proves it. Grand Master of the Jedi Order for over 900 years, Yoda is a living legend. Yoda has taken on armies, Sith Lords, giant monsters (even R2-D2), and hardly even gets a cramp(I think)! I commend Star Wars for making old folks so badass.

  • Jedi, Dark Acolyte, Nightsister, and Bounty Hunter. These titles define this unique character from the Clone Wars era. Thanks to brilliant storytelling and fascinating portrayls throughout the years, Asajj Ventress remains one of Star Wars ultimate bad girls. I hope that someday we get to see even more of her in the future...

  • We embraced the Star Wars Saga through the eyes of farm boy whose destiny would take him far beyond the desert planet of Tatooine. He would play a significant role in aiding the Rebel Alliance in defeating the Galactic Empire and help bring forth the return of the fallen Jedi Order. Luke has accomplished so much, it would be a disgrace to not involve him on this list or a least the top three or five.

  • The Star Wars Devil in Disguise is the true definition of unexpected evil. Causing a war to demolish the foundations of the Republic and even fooling the powerful Jedi Order without them even knowing until its too late. Clever and cunning, he ruled galaxy for over three decades. He even controlled the Chosen One and Galen Marek(for a while)! Darth Sidious the ultimate villain of the Star Wars Universe due to his sinister brilliance and insidious endurance.

  • From Emperor's Hand to Jedi Knight, Mara Jade has had an interesting story arc. Which is why she remains a fan-favorite in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. In someway, she will be in the new trilogy I know it! Face it, this redhead with a dubious past are perfect story arcs for any spin-off movie or television series.

  • One of the most powerful Force-sensitives who has left quite a mark in the Star Wars Universe, Galen Marek truly defines the Force Unleashed. The apprentice of Darth Vader has gone from Imperial Acolyte to Rebel Jedi in a unique way and his actions have made quite an impact in the beginnings of the Galactic Civil War.

  • A legend that began in a video game that remains a cult classic to Star Wars fans. When you think about it Revan is virually the Old Republic's version of Anakin Skywalker; a Jedi who would defy the Council to save a galaxy and later be corrupted by the Dark Side to the destroy it. He would eventually find redemption and continue the fight during the era of the Great Galactic War. Revan has always been a fan favorite for his reputation is the stuff of legend.

  • Qui-Gon Jinn was the former apprentice to Count Dooku and master to Obi-Wan Kenobi. He was also the only Jedi to discover Anakin Skywalker as the Chosen One. Calm in pressence yet defiant when doing what he believes is right, this legendary master helped guide the destinies of many of the series most important characters. He would also play an important role in achieving a power beyond death itself.

  • He was portrayed by Samuel Mother****** Jackson. He has a purple lightsaber (why cause he wanted too!). He can use to Force to do killer karate moves. He even created his own lightsaber combat style! Mace Windu may not have a winning personality, but he can definitely be a badass.

  • A character that too has gone through the same trails as Anakin and Revan, but one of the only few to gain redemption and have a happy ending as a result. Quinlan is a pretty badass character, it was a great joy to know that he was officially cannon when he made an appearance in the Clone Wars TV show. I hope that more stories about him are featured in the future.

  • You gotta admit, Dooku was a Sith with swagger. A former Jedi who left the Order, Dooku would find confort serving as an apprentice to Darth Sidious and help in his plans for galactic domination. His knowledge of the Dark Side was quite impressive, alongside his political skills and lightsaber techniques. Of course he would end up being nothing more than a pawn to Sidious, but the Sith Lord had left quite an impact during the Clone Wars.
