Swamp Thing #0 0

THE GOOD:  Kano is doing the art in this issue and it looks really good. Seeing his facial expressions and the details that he adds to the backgrounds and characters is stunning. The way that he conveys horror in the panels is also very, very good. The story is interesting filling in a lot of questions that I had about the character from issue #1. Seeing Anton come back and really track down the avatar of the green is interesting to see and I'm glad that we got to see more of the Swamp Thing fro...

Green Lantern #0 1

THE GOOD: Doug Mahnke managed to do this whole issue and his work is just really great. Meeting a new character is important and he illustrates everything we need to know about this character very well. The facial expressions really popped out in this issue and it's why Doug Mahnke is one of my favorites. The story is more getting to know this new character then anything else. Geoff Johns does a good job at introducing a new complex character and he makes him very likable at the same time. Seein...

Animal Man #0 0

THE GOOD: Steve Pugh does an amazing job on the art in this issue. His continues with his clever paneling, and the style the he contributes to the book, really gives it a tone that is hard to forget while looking at the art. The details are very nicely done as well. The story is very simple, but it's easy to tell that it contributes to a much larger story. We get to see the avatar before Buddy Baker, for a while and it's interesting to see a little more info on the people who came before Buddy. ...

Dial H #0 1

THE GOOD: This issue had a lot to like, however, the art wasn't one of them, more on that later. The story is fantastic. China Mieville does a great job at crafting the zero issue to where it doesn't effect the current run, but gives explanations that will be helpful for the current run. Seeing Laodice in an ancient time was interesting and seeing the dial back them was also very well crafted. Seeing Laodice figure out the dial and repel the invasion and then become a queen type was cool to see ...

Godzilla #4 0

THE GOOD: Simon Gane does an awesome job on art duties. His style is very messy and it turns out great and even gives this book a tone that is right for a giant monster comic. The rubble and destruction, looks amazing, as well as the cities that he draws. The monsters also look very good. The story is getting further and further to a huge climax. Seeing Titanosaurus fighting Rodan was and interesting match-up because it has never been done. The final result was mostly satisfying. We also get to ...

Green Lantern Annual #1 0

THE GOOD: Ethan Van Sciver does a great job at filling the whole issue with his detailed and interesting art. Just looking at the first page, you can see the amount of details he puts into his backgrounds and his characters facial expressions. The story is huge and very interesting. The guardians are losing it and they are setting out to create a Third Army. This issue was really good at setting up the crossover event that will be coming soon. It also, does a very good job at ending a story that...

Justice League #12 0

THE GOOD:   There are tons of artist on this book and you can see that there is a little difference between pages but everything still looks really good. They have top artist come in and the result is a great looking book. The way they draw the characters and the action makes this book fun to look at. The story is continuing on from the previous issue. Wonder Woman is being attacked by Graves because she has never felt loss. This is where Steve Trevor comes in but the Justice League saves the d...

Justice League Dark #12 0

THE GOOD: Mikel Janin does an amazing job on this book. His style is very clean but has a much more complex feeling to it that makes it a pleasure to look at. The fact that he has has only a few fill in issues is another great thing about his work. The story get very interesting as the team splits into two. Jeff Lemire does a great job by adding to the plot by introducing another mysterious character and by having Felix trick the team into believing something. Seeing Constantine and Black Orchid...

Batman Incorporated #3 0

THE GOOD: Chris Burnham does an amazing job in this book. His overall style fits into the world of Batman but it also has a different feeling from any other Bat Book. The way that he draws his people makes the whole page just fun to look at. The story is continuing on from issue #2 that came out a while ago. Bruce Wayne and Batman both have really cool parts in this issue that involve getting more info on Leviathan. Damian however steals the show because of his whole attitude in this issue that ...

Green Lantern #12 0

THE GOOD: The art in this issue is different from the regular artist but Renato Guedes and Jim Calafiore contribute to the book. Renato Guedes adds a lot of details to his faces and the backgrounds. Jim Calafiore contributes his simplistic yet interesting style to this book. The story gets very huge and complicated but in a good way. We get to see the Guardians and all the evil but somehow nice things they are planing. The real big deal here is the fight with Black Hand and what the Book of the ...

Nightwing #12 0

THE GOOD: Andres Guinaldo provides the pencils for this issue and it looks fantastic. The action that he draws is just great to see in this series. He also does very good facial expressions and it really conveys the characters mood well. He also can draw a very bright Gotham for when Dick Grayson is out of the mask. This issue is really, really rewarding. Thing from issue #1, and #2 are answered here with a great conclusion. The reveal was very strong and it just ups the whole story line that is...

Red Hood and the Outlaws #12 0

THE GOOD: Timothy Green II is doing the art in this issue. He does his best for following Kenneth Rocafort. He adds a lot of details in the backgrounds. The way he draws the armor of the characters is very well done and he even makes it look awesome. The Blight that he draws looks evil as well. The story is very interesting and we get to see the reason why Roy was kidnapped so easily. The way that Scott Lobdell pulled that off was interesting and it really ties together the relationship between ...

Birds of Prey #12 0

THE GOOD: Cliff Richards does the whole issue and he turns out some great looking work. The character expressions are very clear when looking at the characters. Cliff also draws really good action scenes that really make you pause for a while. The oil rig splash page was just really great to look at. The story continues after last months issue where Poison Ivy took over the team. This new thing that the team is doing is interesting and the conflict coming from that has been very enjoyable. Black...

Batwoman #12 0

THE GOOD: Finally, J.H. Williams III returns to Batwoman. Fans have been missing his work and we're all glad that he is back on Batwoman. The return of his splash pages are nothing short of amazing. The fact that he has a different feeling to him art when Wonder Woman is the main is a good thing. The details are endless as well. The story picks up where the last few issue left off, but that old format is gone and therefore, the series can be enjoyable again. The whole fight with Bloody Mary was ...

Legion of Super-Heroes #12 1

THE GOOD: Francis Portela and Tom Derenick do the art in this issue and it's very noticeable that there are two different artist, but they draw different locations so it balances out. I really like how Francis drew all the action the took place on The Dominators' World. I like the thick lines that Tom Derenick adds to his work as well. The story is very rewarding a fun to read. The introduction of the hybrid of Dominator and Daxamite was very interesting and fun to see. Paul Levitz does a great ...

Wonder Woman #12 0

THE GOOD: Cliff Chaing is an amazing artist. The expressions on all the faces he draws convey the feelings of the characters very strongly. The whole issue is just beautiful. The action is very fluid and fun to look at. The backgrounds are simple but consistent and just great to see. There is so much more that was great about the art. The story is just pure, fun and amazement. We get to see Wonder Woman just kick ass. We also get to see that Hera is very smart and has a plan for almost everythin...

The Ravagers #4 0

THE GOOD: Daniel Sampere and Stefano Martino both do the artwork in this issue. There isn't a huge difference between their styles so you may not notice it. I really like the amount of details that they both put into their work. The way they draw the characters is also very fun to look at. The expressions on the characters too makes them come alive. The story is much more focused on action. We get to see Beast Boy and Terra save the rest of the team. This issue was great because you got to see h...

Superboy #12 0

THE GOOD: Robson Rocha and Eduardo Pansica both are the artist in this issue. The difference between their work is very slight so you may not notice the change. The way they add tons of details into their work is one of the greatest things about this issue. The expressions are very strong here as well. The story is rather interesting. We get to see Superboy get to spend a night out with normal people. The interaction between him and the other characters in the club are fairly interesting. The ba...

Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. #12 0

THE GOOD: Alberto Ponticelli draws this book with a very different style then most books being put out. The over all details that he adds into the panels is also very stunning and it helps build all of the different worlds they visit. The action in this issue was also very over the top and Alberto Ponticelli captured it in a great way. The story is continuing Satan's Ring story line. Frankenstein comes off very cool with all things that he is doing, but to make him feel a little more human, Matt...

Batman #12 0

THE GOOD: Greg Capullo takes a break from this issue and his fill in does just as great work. Becky Cloonan has a very different style but her work works well with the story that Scott Snyder is telling. I really like the way that she draws Gotham City and I think that he characters also looks really cool. The story goes way back to around the events of Batman #1,2,3 and 4. I like how Scott Snyder did this because it tells it own story but adds a little to the Court of Owls. I really like Harper...

THE GOOD: Pete Woods is an amazing artist and I'm glad that he was put on this book. His style is very clean be he adds a lot of details in the background that just makes the page look very good. Suicide Squad #12 0

THE GOOD: Fernando Dagnino does an amazing job penciling this book. His style is very simple but with the lines he uses it makes the whole image look much more complex. I really like the expressions on the faces of the characters because it reveals a lot about the characters. The backgrounds are also REALLY cool. The story is trying really hard and in some places it accomplishes that. I really like how they go to the little camp that Regulus. I also think that the return of Captain Boomerang was...

Batgirl #12 0

THE GOOD: Adrian Syaf is doing an amazing job in this book every month. I really like how he added a little bit of Batwoman into this book with the panels and he did it very good. I like the expressions that he creates for the book and it really adds a lot of emotion to the book as well. I like the backgrounds he does as well. I think the story rapidly improved from the last few issue. I really like it how Gail is sculpting the villains more then she has in past issue. I like seeing that they ar...

Worlds' Finest #4 0

THE GOOD: I really like Kevin Kaguire's artwork. I like the facial expressions the most. They just add a lot of the characters. He also does amazing backgrounds. George Perez is penciling the present part of the issues. I like what he is doing. There are some really cool panels that he drew. The story is still revolving around Hakkou invading Tokyo. Now he is in the bay and is attacking the ships that were there. I really like how Paul Levitz is balancing action with character moments. I really ...

G.I. Combat #4 0

THE GOOD: I really like the art in both stories. Ariel Olivetti has a very clear style that is very simple but has a look to it that makes it look brilliant and very interesting to look at. Dan Panosian does an amazing job here and adds a lot of detail with very sketchy lines. He draws the violence the story requires with a lot of emotion. The story for The War that Time Forgot is finally getting somewhere. I really like seeing the ocean and the ship off the coast. I also really like seeing Stev...

Swamp Thing #12 0

THE GOOD: The penciler is Marco Rudy and he does a great job. He manages to keep the feeling from Animal Man but also have the Swamp Thing feeling as well. The story is still a great part of this series. I really like seeing Animal Man and Swamp Thing really getting to work together. I also really like how Abby interacts with Maxin...

Animal Man #12 0

THE GOOD: I'm very glad that we have one artist on this book now. I really like Steve Pugh's artwork. It still has a similarity to the beginning of the series where Travel Foreman was on the book but gives it his own take. I really like the character expressions as well as the action that is in this book. I am in love with these characters. In this issue we get to see the crossover that we have been waiting for. We see Animal Man track down Swamp Thing and it just creates a fun filled read. I re...

Swap Thing #11 0

THE GOOD; The art in this issue is well done by Marco Rudy. I really like how creepy Anton Arcane looked in this issue. He was just horrifying to look at. I also really liked how he continued the cool paneling that Yanick Paquette started doing when he first started this series. I also really like the action that was drawn in this issue. The story is continuing off of #10. I really like seeing Abby in this issue and in the position she is in. I really liked hearing about all the things that Arca...

Green Lantern #11 2

THE GOOD: Doug Mahnke does great work on this series. I really though that the facial expressions were really strong in this issue. I also really liked the backgrounds because they are very other worldy, but then we go to something that looks a little like the Justice League watchtower. I think that the story is leading up to something huge. I really liked seeing that there is a plan for the Green Lanterns to stay and try to reform the guardians. I also really liked seeing Black Hand doing what ...

THE GOOD: Brett Booth is a perfect match for a series like this. I really like the facial expressions that he has on the characters because they look a little quirky. I also really like the action scenes in this issue. They turned out really nice and really showcased the fighting. I was also really liking the panels that he adds, is makes the page look very complex. The story is focusing a little on Wonder Girl and her armor. I really like the humor in this issue. I think Bunker and Kid Flash ar...

Justice League Dark #11 0

THE GOOD: Mikel Janin is a fantastic artist and I think that he should be more well known. I really like how clean the art is and the amount of details he adds to the backgrounds and the characters themselves. I think the coloring also help contribute to the feeling of the book, giving it a much darker tone then other series out there. I was really impressed with the story that Jeff Lemire is telling. I really like the fact that they are giving time for each character to really shine. I like see...

THE GOOD: Simon Gane does an amazing job drawing the monsters and the cities they destroy. I really like how he adds so much details to the monsters they pop out no matter what page you're on. I also really like the sketchiness of the work he does. I was very impressed by the explosions the occur in this issue. The story is continuing where #2 left off. Red Hood and the Outlaws #11 0

THE GOOD: I really like the art. I'm not sure how much better of an artist they can find when Kenneth Rocafort leaves for Superman. The whole feeling that the artist puts into his work is just amazing to look at. I really like the expressions and the way that he adds a lot to the panels. I also just like the sketchiness of the work as well. The story is still focusing on Starfire. We learn a lot about her and I think that it works for the character. I really like how she is really trying to deci...

Nightwing #11 0

THE GOOD: Despite what some people are saying, I enjoyed the art in this issue. Andres Guinaldo does a good job at filling in. I really like the action that he draws. It's very impressive and easy to follow. I also really like the expressions, because they seem like that is what a person would do in this situation. The story is okay. I really like seeing Dick Grayson really trying to bring a fun place to Gotham. I think that this is my favorite part of the issue. I also really like seeing Dick G...

Birds of Prey #11 0

THE GOOD: There are some parts of the art where I really liked looking at the panel. Travel Foreman does a great job with the characters and the backgrounds. I really like the sketchy feeling it has to the pages that he does. The story is a little confusing. It starts at current time, which is a few weeks ahead from where we left off in the last issue. Then it goes back into the past that tells us what exactly is going on in the present. I really think that twist of Poison Ivy was predictable bu...

Batwoman #11 1

THE GOOD: I think that the art this issue has is decent. I really like how Trevor McCarthy tries to clone the artwork of J.H. Williams III. I think that he has great facial expressions and that the panels look just as cool as when Williams was on the book. I also like the style that he has and I think that it would suit a series like this very nicely. The story is still split up. I think that this issue wildly improves because I actually got when everything was happening. I really like seeing Ja...

Legion of super-Heroes #11 0

THE GOOD: There are two artist and they both have qualities that I really enjoy about their work. Andres Guinaldo has thick lines that really define his work. the expressions are also great from him. Francis Portela is a much cleaner artist. His lines are well defined and everything crisp. I really like the angles he finds for the panels. The story is about the rouge group of Legionnaires trying to free Brainiac 5 and Dream Girl who have been abducted by the Dominators. I really like that we are...

Justice League #11 0

THE GOOD: Jim Lee. I think that says everything that one needs to say about the art. Jim Lee has an amazing style the sketchy but also very easy to follow. The amount of details that he puts into his work is stunning. The facial expressions hit me hard in this issue because I feel like all the characters have several different emotions in this issue. The story is improving. I really like it how Graves is really leading the Justice League around the world but seems like there is very clever plan ...
