The Star Brand had the ability to collapse its entire reality due to a temporal paradox.

Kill the wielder and they come back because death is temporary and the Brand revives them.

The Brand grants the wielder infinite power only limited by one’s imagination. There is no limit to what can be done, including eradicating death from existence. That is on par with pre-retconned Beyonder.

Justice League ends up torn apart atom by atom.

Winner: inevitably Star Brand

The extent of Mjolnir’s workings when lifted by someone worthy and not Thor isn’t really explored in the MCU.

In theory it should make Cap on par with Phase 1 Thor.

Pretty obvious he was smaller. It was immediately visible.

Just depends on the writing and the era of comics. Power scales were a bit wonky until the 80’s.

On a whole though, Spider-Man has a lot of assets to call upon to defeat more powerful characters, and usually it’s not Spider-Man just standing there, going toe to toe with the Rhino.

A few reasons:

1. Thor’s feats on earth at that point don’t illustrate the sheer amount of incomprehensible power and damage Thor could unleash. Pierce doesn’t fully understand what he is dealing with.

2. Pierce must show he is in charge at all times as a senior officer, even in the face of extreme danger. Officers don't have the luxury of appearing weak in front of enlisted.

3. A belief that Thor is largely benevolent and would not choose to harm humans in that situation

4. Unlikely, but perhaps he believes Captain Marvel could be summoned and act as a defense against Thor in a pinch.

5. He’s desperate and very close to the Tesseract. This might be his only chance. He was acting out of desperation rather than logic.

6. The other Avengers are there and are perhaps ready to protect him if Thor loses it.

7. He’s just a moron

Team wins. Too many abilities, too much experience, magic, cosmic level power...and hammers.

At best Hulk ends up like Champion in Thanos Quest.

Claremont Cyclops was really good. I personally liked the twists and turns associated with Madelyne Pryor. It's actually quite complex and opened up some interesting stories.
