South Central for me. People say it's the "black" American History X but I disagree. Cinematography and direction might be a tad lower in quality but the storytelling is way better IMHO. Menace w Society would be my second pick.

@speckoh: As for Superboy Prime, PIS aside, even he shouldn't be able to beat Darkseid. SBP was pre crisis strong but he was still below silver age Superman. Darkseid b*tchlaps silver age Superman. But then again, due to PIS and the way post crisis power levels fluctuate, even post crisis Superman was able to hang and slug it out with Darkseid.

@speckoh: Hand of God Ion wasn't just the entity. Yat, Godhead Ion, and all other entities are equal but they have a different powerset than the first incarnation of Kyle Rayner as Ion. The emotional entities tapped to the spectrum and had a limitless source of power. It's like having a hose connected to the ocean as opposed to lanterns who use buckets.

Hand of God Ion had the whole power of the Oan battery inside him as well as some remnants of Zero Hour Parallax. He did not have a hose connected to the ocean, he was the ocean.

I would say, for me, the last battle in MoS. Yeah, it is controversial but that isn't really the question here. As an action scene, it was the best for me.

Pre52 Darkseid was a force so strong he survived a multiverse altering event that merged infinite earths into one earth. Pre Crisis Darkseid is post crisis Darkseid. PIS aside, post crisis Superman shouldn't even supposed to trade blows with him.

New 52 Darkseid on the other hand, is on par with the Antimonitor. GL Corps, both pre and post flashpoint (not that it matters, Johns said they aren't changed), again outside of PIS, would not be able to deal with Darkseid.

This brings up one question for me, though. Why did Ion not deal with Darkseid? He was nigh omnipotent.

Honestly, though, I also vote for alternate timeline. In all honesty, you just presented a slightly different take on the grandfather paradox.
