Historically, Dr. Octopus. Before the first Raimi film, he was always the first villain people thought of when they thought of Spidey.

Raimi read 60s and 70s Spider-Man and sorta gave up his research after that. He had a very elitist view of Spider-Man that romanticized everything Bronze Age and deemed everything else as worthless, hence why he hated Venom and intentionally sabotaged the character in Spider-Man 3 (Along with the entire Black Suit storyline.) Also, I find it laughable how anyone could say that his Green Goblin was accurate. Raimi tried to do this weird thing where Norman was sometimes really sympathetic and tragic and then sometimes a misogynistic, sadistic monster and it didn't work at all. Had NO basis in the comics.

The fact that this is even a question truly speaks to how much Homecoming butchered everything that made Spider-Man a great character.

Imma get slammed for this, but 2014 and 2003. I REALLY dug Daredevil: Director's Cut and Ang Lee's Hulk.

Ghost in the Shell looks like Ultraviolet if it had a budget, which is, delicately put, not a good thing

Power Rangers gives me very strong Fant4stic vibes. Granted, I didn't hate Fant4stic as much as everyone else did, but it still wasn't good, and this doesn't look that great either

Arthur looks friggin' awesome, I'm legitimately hyped

Assassin's Creed looks too ambitious and smart for its own good. Kinda like Ang Lee's Hulk. And like Ang Lee's Hulk, I think critical response will be positive while fan response will be negative

Pirates...Is that the lead from Gods of Egypt? Oh no.

Imma put my money on Ghost in the Shell. God, it looks so soulless. It looks like one of those countless awful Matrix wannabes from the early 2000s.

Seeing as Spider-Man is my favorite comic book character, it kills me to say this...I haven't liked anything Spider-Man related since The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (Which I admittedly LOVE.) Peter himself is a raging, douchebag, Tony Stark-esque power fantasy who is no longer relatable (Which, believe it or not Slott is kind of...You know...The whole f*cking point of Spider-Man to begin with), Black Cat is being intentionally sabotaged as a character, most of Spider-Man's best villains are being sidelined for the "edgier" ones to appeal to new fans, and Silk...Dear GOD, Silk. To sum up my opinions on Silk, she is basically Marvel's equivalent to Harvest in quality. If any of you know or remember how I feel about Harvest, that's how much I hate Silk.

No, though I tend to focus more on DC's villains and anti-heroes than their heroes. And, to be fair, many of those beloved villains and anti-heroes are Batman related (Poison Ivy, Red Hood, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, e.t.c.) Though there are BIG exceptions like Gorilla Grodd and the Sinestro Corps.
