Maxford Swift was born to an immortal warlock and a mortal woman. The first indication of his power having been passed on to his son was when Maxford's mana draining ability killed his mother in childbirth. From a young age, he was trained, not in body, but in mind, to harness his power and focus it into power. His father was the thief known as Illusionist, a magical criminal who used his vast arcane knowledge to commit massive burglaries. In his youth, he managed to manifest a plasma bolt powerful enough to blow through a bank vault door (stolen by his father). When he was able to do this, the Illusionist realised that his son could be a successful criminal, as opposed to a "small timer" like himself. Drawn into conflict with a mage of good intentions, Illusionist used his duplication spell to make multiple copies of himself. The duplicates beat the mage to near death, and Max was awarded the killing blow. Although a spell of less power would have been sufficient, Max put an intense amount of mana into a plasma bolt that cause the wizard to explode. Illusionist noticed his son's near-endless blood thirst and was concerned.
By the time he reached his physical prime, Max had chosen to craft a new identity as Sorceror Swift, in an attempt to distance himself from his father, who specialised in illusion based trickery, and be his own man, based on spells and curses of actual power. He had mastered an almost inconceivable number of spells, including his trademark exceedingly powerful plasma bolt, as well as the offensive and defensive capabilities of fire, the ability to summon up vast amounts of fog (meteorological disturbance), and had gained perfect control over his ability to absorb the life force of all things, mana, and also the ability to perform a sort of spell where one is forced to tell the truth, telekinesis, and controlling electrical devices had become a simple task. He had created a defensive spell of his own, which he called a prismatic sphere, made up of seven different spheres, each protecting against a different type of attack. He had inherited his father's immortality, and his father had taught him a rare spell that allows a sorcerer to summon deceased corpses and use them as puppets.
After a time, he grew bored of his criminal ways, and instead sought to be a better man. He became less of a warlock and more of a sorceror, although he retained the spells of Darke Magicke that most sorcerors tend to avoid.
Abilities
Immortality - Due to his father's immortality charm(curse?), it is theorised that once Max reaches the age of 20, he will stop aging altogether..
Magic - Due to his magical aura, the gift from his father's bloodline, Max can perform amazing magical feats. These have limitless capabilities.
Mana absorption - Every living thing - plants, trees, animals and humans - possesses a force called mana. Without this force, their body cannot survive. In order to perform spells, a wizard/warlock requires mana. Most people are never able/aware they can use mana to perform magic/are in denial about the existence of magic. All mages/witches/wizards/warlocks maintain the ability to drain a living thing of its mana. Max describes it as being a "magical vampire". Others describe the experience as "sucking a person's soul". Witnesses to the process say a coloured smoke seeps from the victim's mouth, nose, ears, and even the eyes, and is sucked into the mage's body.
Soul sight - Max can see the souls of dead humans. As part of his immortality curse, the souls of his victims eternally follow him and torment him.
Superhuman speed - The second part of his "Sorceror Swift" identity, Max can run at speeds of up to one hundred miles an hour for a limitless amount of time at base. This appears to be unrelated to his magical powers, is unknown in origin and can be amplified by his magical powers.
Invincibility - If his body is destroyed, Maxford's spirit seeks out a place of great mana, where it absorbs as much as it can, and then reforms the mage's body.
Equipment

Maxford's right arm has been replaced by a metallic arm, and it can produce a sword. This blade is magically indestructible, but seems to possess no other powers. It is unknown of the exact circumstances behind his loss of the appendage.
