@edblank: Seriously, I don't know what you are talking about anymore. The whole characters being Gods has been done before by many others so I don't know why you single out DC.

The New Gods are gods in their own mythos anyways. The same way that Cthulhu is a Lovecraftian entity. It isn't like Lovecraftian wanted people in reali life to worship Cthulhu... If that is the case we might as well be worshipping Galactus. The whole point of the Darkseid War and Injustice is to show that power corrupts and portraying gods whether literally and metaphorically helps the story unfold.
