@doc4943: Oh yeah, I would drop a majority my Marvel pull list if they went back to homogenized art.

Art is still nasty, if Marvel used better artists maybe their books would be bought more

I looked through you previous posts, and you must be my polar opposite because Samnee (Black Widow), Romero (Hawkeye), Del Mundo (Avengers), and Anka (Starlord) are easily my favorite comic book artists.

@atheistknowledge: Oh right, I forgot that happens in A-Force, I guess that's a better answer. Thanks for the reminder.

@slimebeherit: It's just stupid, and they did the same with Iron Heart.

Well how can I argue with such a compelling argument. I truly have been checkmated.

Probably someone who didn't see the cover, and just bought a comic called Hulk.

Well lucky for them they still get a comic with a Hulk in it.

Marvel can sell books to anyone w/o trying to make them look "girly/cutesy". You think females can't take comics seriously?

So you're saying not appealing to another demographic is a better way to attract that demographic?

Does Marvel think females will only respond to goofy-looking, cutesy art?

I specifically used more generic terms. People are attractive to all kinds of things. I myself, a dude, actually like this art style over certain more detailed art. My point is that the art looking cutesy is different enough from many of the books out there to attract a different group of people, be it men or women, young or old.

If you are a woman that likes a more serious looking type of book, then you have plenty to choose from, and have for a long time now.

@slimebeherit: Well I didn't think enough people would like it where they'd feel comfortable giving her a series. I understand some people like her, but...her own series? That's just me. I only see Barton as Hawkeye and I never liked when Marvel did the legacy hero thing. But that's just me.

Sometimes a publisher needs to take a chance to see if there is any real interest for a character. I certainly didn't know much about her, but that first issue gave me a feeling for what kind of person she is, and she seems like a really spunky, yet naive character. It was good read. As for the legacy character thing, it's nothing new, we have had multiple Ant-Mans, Ghost Riders, Spider-Woman. Kamala as Ms. Marvel has been very well received as well.

Oh? Thought he was still an avenger in the Civil War 2 storyline.

He was still an Avenger in CWII, but the events that took place definitely influenced his decision to leave.

Having his brain manipulated doesn't mean Peter's personality changed, it inserted Doc Ock's consciousness into Peter while sending Peter into Doc's body. Sounds like you need to reread Superior Spider-man. Peter was still flying around as a ghost thing so unless he was gone fully, it would be a change of personality because of mind manipulation but it wasn't..Peter himself has explained what happened like when he tried to explain it to Black Cat after she got pissy over what SpOck did to her. It would be like you trying to say that Zarathos or Eli manipulates Blaze or Reyes's minds..They took over their bodies, not their actual minds

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just saying that both things happened. In that case of Peter, it was an added brain patter, in the case of Hydra Cap, it changed parts of his personality.
