Sites like Comicvine were likely killed by Adblocker to be honest.

From what I recall first Comicvine tried to wait it out for a while, then they started to use much more intrusive, higher paid ads to make up for the lost revenue (but this probably just led to more people downloading the app), then they tried to do paid promotion videos like "unboxing" vids and such as well as linking to articles on other websites, until ultimately they just had to lay off their staff and run on a skeleton crew.

If Comicvine is anything like my website they may have lost like 75% odd of their revenue in the space of a year and a half when adblocker took off ~2013. Things continued to get worse throughout 2014 until ultimately plateauing in 2015.

Its just a completely different online world now.

Psychologists have repeatedly given the answer for decades now.

The American media needs to stop glamourising mass shooters. These people do this because they want their face on every media network, want their kill counts endlessly brought up, and want to have documentaries made about their atrocities, they are primarily psychotic attention seekers.

Report on them by all means, but only give the cold hard facts.

Unfortunately the US media isn't interested in doing responsible reporting, because they make too much money out of these events and all the ensuing arguments about gun control and such.

I was working in the NHS as a cleaner at the time (possibly my first lasting job?)

Watched it on the cafeteria TV, felt it was a decent excuse to not do much work.

Maybe a different design where just the outline of the Dragon is cut into the Red Saltire or something.

Actually, Scratch this, I just attempted it and the result was so bad it could single-handedly facilitate the break-up of the United Kingdom.

I think there are too many factors involved to make a judgement one way or the other.

I kind of feel like things would've been better here and the standard of living would've gone up for the average person if the Romans had gotten themselves a much more stable foothold and managed to stop the subsequent Anglo Saxon colonisation of the 5th century, they had a lot of advanced technology and philosophy for the time that we could've benefited from.

But saying that they did slaughter hundreds of thousands of Britons and make slaves out of countless more.

But then had they won out perhaps slavery would've been abolished much earlier, maybe instead of harsh Norman feudalism we would've been closer to democracy by the 11th century. Too many things to weigh up.

@silent_bomber: C and D aren't completely awful.

Its difficult to add Wales to the Union Jack because the Red, White and Blue colour scheme is so iconic, any other new colour element distracts a little from the effect I think.

The Dragon one doesn't add any other colours, but I'm not keen on that one really to be honest, maybe a different design where just the outline of the Dragon is cut into the Red Saltire or something.

As for the Cymru thing, at this point the change would be awkward and for it's own sake.

Can't really see the point.

I think it would be more accurate to change it to Cymru, but I agree not very pragmatic.

I just think its a bit much that the ancient Britons will forever be known as Welsh from now on, which from what I understand is the Anglo Saxon word for Foreigner.

So its the English from England, the Scottish from Scotland, and the foreigners from foreignland. Fellow-Countrymen (of what was left of Briton) is more accurate.

Countries do still change their names from time to time

It was okay, I don't think there's ever going to be a movie that completely encapsulates comic book Spider-Man for me now. Public perception has strayed too far away.

At least Kingpin got his dues in it :)

@bumpyboo

If the Union Jack was revamped which one would you go for?

No Caption Provided

Also, should Wales be officially named Cymru or is it not worth bothering with?

Andie MacDowell was never anything more than the poor man's Geena Davis.

Geena Davis should've been in Groundhog Day instead.
