Anyone remember "Operation Human Shield" from South Park?

Literally what happened to the Dothraki

Last episode was total garbage, horrible direction, horrible lighting, and no attempt to try to make a properly thought out battle strategy at all. The Romans would've done a better job than this ffs. Seriously, transport Romans from the 1st century to Westeros, give them information on the situation, a couple of Dragons, and a dude with the power to see through the eyes of Ravens to scout out an area and they would've completely dominated and destroyed this threat.

Not even to go into the fact that the Night King et al were not properly established as characters at all, are we ever going to learn anything more about the origins of these things!? regardless its too late now to explain their motivations and such to create that interesting point of conflict that was necessary for this battle.

As anyone who knows me knows, I'm very interested in the history of comics, and especially Fleetway Comics from here in Britain so when I saw this old story from girl's comics back in print I wanted to check it out as I'd heard it was one of the better remembered stories from these comics and I'd previously never managed to track it down.

The story is about Fran, a girl who gets into an argument with her family shortly before a major disaster hits Britain, there's been a never-ending torrent of rain for weeks, dams break all over the place and eventually almost all of Britain is flooded, there are refugees fleeing the floods, gangs spring up in the anarchy, and people are drowning left and right.

I actually quite enjoyed this one! Generally I haven't gotten much entertainment from the girls comics I've read (not really surprising given that I'm not the target audience) but this one was pretty dramatic and well-paced, it also had some of the mildly dark elements that these comics were known for (they're famous for their cruel Cinderella type stories). It kicks off with the supposed "mean girl" of the school rescuing the title character before immediately drowning to death! followed by a helicopter Fran thinks is coming to her rescue suddenly running out of fuel and crashing in an explosion, there's also a scene where a hungry Fran finds a little girl with a Rabbit, Fran stares at the Rabbit until deciding to bash its brains in with a rock! Fortunately the little girl witnesses Fran ready to kill her beloved pet and Fran thinks twice. The group of girls are then tricked into becoming slaves, the little girl is pushed off the cart with the slavers saying she's no use to them!

The artwork is black and white, but I quite like it, very expressive style.

Story is good for the 1970s in my opinion.

Hmmm, I think if I had to pick a game to play against the Grim Reaper I would probably just go with Chutes and Ladders, leave it all up to chance. I mean you know for certain you have a 50/50 chance of winning and returning to life that way. Of course the Chutes would become highly stressful though.

Maybe she knows what happened to Ducky's voice actor

BB

Wow that's sad, I didn't previously know anything about the voice actor.

She must have been really talented as well, I'm really surprised that character was voiced by a nine year old

China is horrendous.

There is CCTV footage of a toddler being run over repeatedly in China whilst groups of people just walk past looking at her with disinterest. Yup, that actually happened in China. Likely the most awful thing I've ever seen.

If you take someone to hospital you can be liable for their bills so people just pretend not to see you.

Both were pretty much uninspired production-line fodder, but probably Tangled was less annoying.

Animated children's movies are very wimpy these days.

When I show my niece a film from my own childhood she gets anxious or upset a lot of the time.

"I'm sorry Emily, the T-Rex killed Little Foot's mum, it was a dangerous life being a prehistoric Dinosaur"

I want to renew my passport but with all this uncertainty regarding Brexit, I suppose it should be best to wait.

Still do hope this whole thing is over soon.

I don't think it will be over for years tbh

May's deal will be voted down, MPs will likely ask for extension, a second referendum, or try to call a new election.

None of those are likely to resolve anything, lol

I guess it might be worth waiting till the end of March, might be a little more clarity then.

It's not only my support, or the support from German people, rather, there are a lot of people out there supporting your voice, but from your perspective, it's hard to perceive it, because the second most influential media is in Europe, especially within the EU and the EU is controlled by leftist scum.

EU isn't really very left-wing, I guess you could call it marginally center left, but really they are corporate centrists

More accurately I think would be to call it an anti-democratic Neo-liberal Technocracy, but that's a bit of a mouthful I guess.

One of the annoying things in the UK at the moment is the framing of Euro-skepticism as being a right wing position when its more a position of self governance. Its not really left vs right but globalism vs nationalism, democracy vs technocracy.

Anyone on the moderate or far left should be against the EU, but instead here in Britain we even have dopey self-proclaimed "anarchists" calling for us to remain in the European Union! a frikkin' Federalist project!
