@frozen: Maybe, but given how in those worlds everyone seems to use the same/similar H2H styles a lot of the time, it's kind of just the standard there. That and I'd imagine any even semi-major street-leveler in comics would probably do pretty well if they got into fights in the real world, even if they don't necessarily use practical styles.

From what I've gathered the useful H2H styles in real life are (as listed by you): Boxing, Krav Maga, Judo, Karate, and Keyesi. I would think the fighting styles that Krav Maga draws from would also be useful.

@illuminatus: Game mechanics such as that are not canon

@thegoddamnmasterchief: No, they invaded the entire SW universe. No exaggeration about it. Their goal was to "cleanse" the entire SW universe of technology and in just a few years they had a bodycount comparable to what the Covenant got after 27 years. In that same number of years they had a number of factions far more technologically advanced then the UNSC in a similar state of desperation and it took several of those factions working together to win.

The Yuuzhan Vong win handily. There's just no two ways about it.

The galaxy, you mean. Saying the invaded "the entire SW universe" is nonsense because they're a part of the Star Wars universe. Their goal was to get rid of all the technology, yes. Quite the ambition. Did they pull it off, even though the New Republic was too incompetent to take them seriously as a threat until they were pretty much at Coruscant and the GE was little more than a pale shadow of its former glory? No. Could they have done it if the Galactic Empire was running everything? Mother of all fuck no.

And again, I'm not arguing that the Covenant will win but if you were wanking the Vong any harder, you'd run the risk of ripping your dick off.

The Galaxy/Universe bit is an admitted error on my part. The rest? No, not really. The Vong stomp. And you can't say I'm wanking because most everyone else who know what the Vong are capable of agrees with me.

Oh, and I'm flagging your post for it's rather rude and hostile vulgarity.

@phantomlantern8: The latter half is kind of my point. If your foe is sufficiently good, then they win. There really isn't anyway around this. If the UNSC fought any of the WH40k factions for example, their will power would mean nothing. They would lose.

But the Covenant, aliens who were supposedly so much more technologically advanced and superior, could not outright defeat the UNSC even though we were using guns no more advanced then what we have now for over 20 years. That's pretty sad. To say nothing for the fact that Covenant weaponry's projectiles actually go SLOWER than bullets.

Conversely, the Yuuzhan Vong were a threat to an entire galaxy and were overwhelming most everyone who tried to stand up to them. It took the New Republic, Imperial Remnant, New Jedi Order, AND the Mandalorians all working in concert to defeat these guys and even then the Yuuzhan Vong still racked up a bodycount comparable to what the Covenant got in a fraction of the time.

I think I'll call out some other users for additional opinions:

@vmole@cadencev2: Your thoughts?

@cjdavis103: Except it really isn't. The Yuuzhan Vong did way better in a much shorter war against superior opponents. And again, the Covenant relied way too much on their weapons and numbers anyway.

The Yuuzhan Vong still win this. Handily. Every time.

@risingbean: He did, but his Radar Sense in the movie didn't extend to the kind of precognition that would be required to predict where Azazel will be.
