Meetra Surik (Jedi Exile) Respect Thread
By ShootingNova 22 Comments
As a follow-up from my last EU respect thread, I decided to create this thread.
Respect Meetra Surik, the Jedi Exile:
Power
Kavar noted that even in the days before the Mandalorian Wars, as a Padawan, Meetra Surik exhibited a strong, deep connection to the Force:
"You always had deep connections to the Force. I am glad to see that it is once again your ally. When I first sparred with you during your training as a Padawan, I could tell that you were different. And it wasn't just your strong connection to the Force."

Revan claims that Meetra Surik was a powerful Jedi during the Mandalorian Wars:
Revan sensed there was something she wasn’t saying. “What does that mean? Meetra was a powerful Jedi. Why didn’t the Council try to redeem her?”

Even early in her rehabilitation, the Exile's use of Force powers is sufficient for her to easily defeat an assassin:
Even though you are unarmed, you still have full use of your Force powers and can take down the assassin easily.

The Exile's Force powers are sufficient to destroy Iziz air defense towers and automated turrets:

Kreia teaches the Exile an advanced technique which Jedi Masters train for for years but still fail to learn. The Exile learns it immediately and is therefore commended by her teacher for being extraordinarily strong:

Visas senses that the Exile is stronger than her. As Darth Nihilus' Shadow Hand, Visas is second only to Nihilus in power, making her stronger than any of Nihilus' other subordinates:

As the Exile grows in power, she eventually becomes so powerful that she creates a disturbance in the Force and can no longer effectively conceal her presence from Darth Nihilus, who can now feel her presence from across the galaxy:
{Referring to a disturbance in the Force, the player has just barged into her meditation chamber}
"Ah, you are here. You felt it, did you not?"
"It was Visas' Master - he can feel my presence in the Force."
"The time to hide your presence is coming to a close, and you will need to increase your training."

Kreia claims that the Exile is greater than any she has ever trained. Whether this relates to her power and other combative facets is questionable, but it should be noted nonetheless:

By the time she arrives on Malachor V, the Exile is a "powerhouse of destruction":

Chris Avellone suggests that the Exile can kill the Greater Storm Beast, even whilst being "drowned in the dark side" on Malachor V, where the gravity vortex nearly crushed her and made it incredibly difficult for her to even breathe:
Question-
4. When on Malachor V, you're required to defeat the Greater Storm Beast. Is it fair to suggest that the Exile could have/did put it down with her force powers (telekinesis, force drain, etc) instead of just her lightsaber? I mostly ask because, in gameplay, you can theoretically kill it with anything, but given how tough the species is for barely surviving the first usage of the Mass Shadow Generator, obviously some tools you have available shouldn't feasibly be able to hurt it canonically.
5. Could Sion have theoretically accomplished the same concerning the Storm Beast?
Answer-
for 4 and 5, I honestly don’t know. Considering Luke killed a Rancor without a lightsaber, I’d like to think the Exile could have done the same.
Sion might have been able to, but the Exile would have a better chance.//

Revan claims that though he had sensed the Exile's exceptional potential during the Mandalorian Wars, she had grown far more powerful than he could ever have imagined:

The Exile is a powerful Force-sensitive, allowing her to return as a Force Ghost after death:
Some powerful Force-sensitives emerge from nothingness after their demise, appearing as ghostly figures that can communicate with the living. Among the Sith, such apparitions are fearsome spirits who refuse to accept their natural end; their peaceful Jedi counterparts are rare, reluctantly deferring their rest and reaching out to the living only when dreadful events are imminent. The Jedi entity’s warnings, therefore, are taken very seriously by the Jedi Order.

Revan deems the Exile a great Jedi:
"She was a great Jedi. My most trusted ally. History remembers her as the Exile. To me, she was... more."
Source: The Old Republic
Lord Scourge considers the Jedi Exile to be the greatest of the Jedi heroes, along with Revan. He implies that she is stronger than any other Jedi he has seen since with the exception of the Hero of Tython, making her stronger than other Jedi he has met, such as of Satele Shan and Jaric Kaedan. It is worth noting that Scourge has killed more than a hundred Jedi that the Emperor deemed too powerful to remain alive:
"For a time I worked with the greatest of your Jedi heroes: Revan and the Jedi Exile."

"Revan was both Jedi Master and Sith Lord. His student, the Exile, defeated the Sith triumvirate. They were your greatest heroes."

Lord Scourge once believed that Revan and the Exile were capable of defeating the Emperor, and was willing to serve them, admitting his own inferiority:

"I liked them. I would have served them, but my vision told me they would fail - I cut down the Exile and brought Revan to the Emperor as a gift."
Source: The Old Republic
Scourge goes on to imply that the two of them were stronger than any Sith, save those who were killed young or co-opted into the Dark Council:
"Revan, the Exile and I were all Jedi-trained. We all resisted the Emperor. What Sith have done so?"
"That was... a surprise. In three centuries, I expected to see one test his strength against the Dark Lord. But those strong enough to challenge him are killed young, or co-opted into the Dark Council."Source: The Old Republic

Force Bonds
Vrook Lamar notes that even as a Padawan, the Exile's ability to form Force Bonds and influence others was often discussed by the Jedi Council:
"Still... your ability to form such connections, to influence others, was always a subject of discussion, even when you were a student here."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
"...whatever the other Padawans see her do, they are quick to do the same..."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Vrook later goes on to claim that the Exile's Force Bonds allow her to leech the life of those connected to her, and simultaneously siphon their will, causing her to dominate them:
"You are a cipher, forming bonds, leeching the life of others, siphoning their will and dominating them."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Vrook Lamar, Zez-Kai Ell and Kavar note that Exile's companions are a special case of this, with them following her unquestioningly and unhesitantly, even against their instincts and sense:
"Have you noticed that when you act, others follow? Those that travel with you......they follow you, without question. Without hesitation."
"Against their instincts, and sometimes against their sense."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Kavar claims that after regaining her connection to the Force, the Exile's ability to form Force Bonds is even greater, and the Bonds she forms are now stronger than ever:
"But what's worse is that bonding you have - it hasn't gone away. It's gotten stronger, and the more attachments you form, the more you draw others to you."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Kreia explains that the Exile easily forms Force Bonds with others, and she can instinctively manipulate these connections to influence others in dominating fashion, such as her companions. Although those who are connected to her become stronger, she is also capable of drawing upon their strength to become stronger herself. However, the pain of an individual is reciprocated through these bonds, causing other bonded individuals to feel their pain (or death) as well:
"You form such bonds easily - the why of it is not important now, all that is important is that you understand that your actions affect others, strongly. Anyone can do such things, since life is connected by the Force. Sometimes the connections are faint - but in your case, they are very strong. You instinctively know how to manipulate such connections to influence others. You have seen it mirrored in those who travel with you. When you accept this, you must accept that this can occur on a larger scale. When you act, you cast echoes. Your intent is mirrored in others - your bond, in many ways, is predatory, an expression of dominance. It is your right. But when you are wounded, all those you are connected to are wounded. You give others strength to act, but it is also possible to draw upon the strength of others to increase your own."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
"The stronger your connection to life, to the Force, the stronger these echoes can be made - and the stronger they are felt. When heard, Force Sensitives instinctively seek out the source, are drawn to it, to try and form a connection. And when the connection is formed, both become stronger. And the influence between them grows. Your... companions, many are touched by the Force, on some level. And in many ways, they serve out of compulsion, and because your connection influences them strongly. It was much like it was for you in the Mandalorian Wars, with many Jedi under your command. But this connection has other consequences. When the source is wounded, the one on which others draw strength, then they are wounded as well. What one feels, the other feels. And when others die, the scream travels back to the source."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
The Exile's ability to influence her companions is most strongly seen when she randomly kills a person. Despite having no intention to do so themselves, her companions are instinctively forced to mirror her actions:
"What... what just happened? One minute, we were just talking... and then... I just lost control. It's like this... impulse just came over me, I couldn't stop myself. Next time, warn me - if you're out to kill someone, don't surprise me like that."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
"Why did we... why did I just do that? There was no reason to, but suddenly... suddenly this urge came over me. I... didn't like it. It felt wrong, but I couldn't help myself."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
"I do not know. As soon as your stance changed, so did mine... it was a strange thing. Echani are taught to be prepared for any battle, at any time. We are trained to predict each battle several movements in advance - and any great battle several hours in advance. The true Echani, the greatest of our teachers, are said to be able to predict the path of wars, of battles, years in advance. Yet this attack I was unprepared for. I did not anticipate it, yet as you acted, I acted as well. I am not used to such things."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
"It is strange... as you acted, suddenly I acted. It is like we were fighting in tandem, as a Force Bond, though I do not feel the same connection. Your impulse to kill, to attack that one - I felt it mirrored in me. It was a strange sensation. It was as if I had no choice in the matter."

Force Chain
Force Chain is a particularly powerful form of Force Bond which allows connected Force users to enhance or heal others by using such powers on themselves, but at the cost of feeling identical pain to any connected being that suffers it. This is its definition from The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia:
The ancient Jedi discovered that some of their number possessed the ability to forge a powerful mental link to one or more other Jedi. The exact mechanism was unknown, and many Jedi considered it the will of the Force whenever a Force chain was created. Whilst connected, the strengths of individual Jedi could be used by others, allowing them to work together against a common enemy. The chain could also be used to augment strength and maintain health. However, if a Jedi in the chain was injured, all members in the link would feel their pain - and it was believed that they could all die if one linked member died. A similar ability, known as the Force meld, was developed during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of the galaxy.
Source: The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia
The Exile regains her connection to the Force by forming a Force Chain with Kreia:
Kreia's union with the Jedi Exile creates a vergence in the Force that reconnects them to the energy field surrounding all living things.
Source: Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide
This Force Chain indeed allows the Force to flow easily between the two of them. When either Kreia or the Exile uses the Force to heal or strengthen themself, the other is affected in the same way. However, when one feels pain, the other feels it as well, unless the one who suffered pain is prepared to mentally shield the other from the pain:
"I confess its nature eludes me as well. But the bond is strong, and its roots run deep. It seems that at times of stress - and pain, if they catch us unawares, then the pain is transmitted between us. It seems the Force flows easily between us - when one of us manipulates the Force to heal or strengthen ourselves, the other is aided as well. A powerful technique indeed - though, as we have noticed, it has its drawbacks. When battle is upon us, I suspect our minds are prepared enough to shield each other from the pain. I think we shall not have a repeat incident of what happened at Peragus."

Wound in the Force
Because the Exile had formed Force Bonds with many of her Jedi brethren in the Mandalorian Wars, when they all died simultaneously on Malachor V as a result of the Mass Shadow Generator, the Exile felt their collective pain, which threatened to kill her as well. In order to survive, the Exile was forced to cut herself off from the Force so utterly that she became a Wound in the Force:
"To hear the Force over such pain... it is not possible. It was too much for any Jedi to endure... and it is a wonder that you did not die there when thousands perished, all those you had fought with and struggled with. You cut yourself off, because you had to if you were to survive."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
"When the source is wounded, the one on which others draw strength, then they are wounded as well. What one feels, the other feels. And when others die, the scream travels back to the source. If they occur at the same time, or at the right time, these screams will build upon each other, until it is the only sound you can hear. And the deaths of many will cause the screams to build, until their pain becomes yours and you die as well. And that is why during the Mandalorian Wars, you lost your connection to the Force. It was that final battle, the deaths of so many Jedi, that caused you to lose your connection. It caused the wound that you feel now. It caused pain in the Force, an emptiness, a wound that has yet to heal."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
"In times past and in times future, there are Jedi who will stop listening to the Force, those that will try to forget it, but maintain unconscious ties. And those, as in the past just as I, who have had the force stripped from them. But no Jedi ever made the choice you did. To sever ties so completely, so utterly, that it leaves a wound in the Force."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
The Jedi Council explains that they saw her as a Wound in the Force, and saw the end of the Force in her. They believe what she carries may be mean the death of the Force, and death of the Jedi. They explain to her that she unconsciously transmits her pain and suffering through the Force. She is described as a cipher, and the Council believes that she unconsciously forms bonds, leeching the life of others, siphoning their will and dominating them. As such, they believe that she is a "breach that must be closed", and so they attempt to cut her off from the Force. Additionally, they reveal she is essentially an iteration of Malachor V, another wound in the Force, and that she grows stronger with each passing death by unconsciously feeding on it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Kep9mUEfxA
Vrook: "When you returned to us, we saw what had happened. You carry all those deaths at Malachor within you, and it has left a hole, a hunger that cannot be filled."
Kavar: "In you, we saw a wound in the Force."
Zez-Kai Ell: "In you, we saw the end of the Force."
Exile: "But... that makes no sense. I can feel the Force again."
Vrook: "Yes.. you can feel the Force, but you cannot feel yourself. You are a cipher, forming bonds, leeching the life of others, siphoning their wills and dominating them. It is the teaching of these new Sith, to feed on others, on other Force Sensitives. They are symptomatic of the wound in the Force. You are a breach that must be closed. You transmit your pain, your suffering through the Force. Within you, we see something worse than merely the teaching of the Sith. What you carry may mean the death of the Force... and the death of the Jedi."
Exile: "But I can feel Force, strongly."
Vrook: "So you think. It is not the strength of a Jedi you feel."
Zez-Kai Ell: "He's right. It's... all the deaths you've caused to get here. You feed on it, and you grow stronger. You're like Malachor... it's in you, it's what you are now. You must have noticed as you've fought across all these planets, killing hundreds, only to grow more and more powerful. Why do you think that was?"
Kavar: "But what's worse is that bonding you have - it hasn't gone away. It's gotten stronger, and the more attachments you form, the more you draw others to you."
Vrook: "And that is why you are a threat to us all. [...] But it is of no consequence. Your ability to make such connections, such bonds so easily are why you cannot remain."

Because the Exile is Nihilus' "polar opposite" Wound in the Force, she uniquely repels his Force Drain, weakening him when he attempts to devour her:

When Nihilus tries feeding on this Jedi, his hunger is mysteriously repelled, as if confronted by his exact polar opposite. Psychically starved by the effort, the Dark Lord falls to the Jedi, and Nihilus the man dissolves into oblivion.

Unable to devour the Exile as he had so many others, Nihilus was finally defeated.

Kreia describes looking at her as "staring at the death of the Force", as a contrast to her hyperbolic claim that Revan was the "heart of the Force":
"Revan was power. It was like staring into the heart of the Force. Even then, you could see the Jedi he would slay etched on his soul."
"What do you see when you look at me?
"You are different. When I look at you, it is like staring at the death of the Force."

Force Drain
As a Wound in the Force, the Exile subconsciously feeds off the deaths of those that die around her, causing her to grow stronger with every death:
"He's right. It's... all the deaths you've caused to get here. You feed on it, and you grow stronger. You're like Malachor... it's in you, it's what you are now. You must have noticed as you've fought across all these planets, killing hundreds, only to grow more and more powerful. Why do you think that was?"

In the non-canon, dark-sided path, the Exile Drains Masters Vrook Lamar, Kavar and Zez-Kai Ell to death upon besting them in battle. It is revealed that they not only die but become absences in the Force - proof that the Exile Drained their connections to both life and the Force:
This master is dead...drained of life. His body is worse than lifeless, it's like an absence in the Force.

Willpower
The Exile managed to withstand the wound in the Force created on Malachor V during the final battle of the Mandalorian Wars (in part due to cutting herself off from the Force) despite being unprepared for it, something which few others could do. This survival gave her the strength to defeat Darth Traya and her followers:
"Now she seeks to create another echo, a wound in the Force, greater than the one before - greater than the one you caused. It will deafen all touched by the Force, until no life is left. You were strong enough to withstand it once - but few have your strength in such matters, especially if they are unprepared."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
In some ways it reminded her of Malachor V—the massive and instantaneous loss of life on that doomed world had created a wound in the Force. The activation of the mass-shadow generator had obliterated two armies, shredding apart the bonds of the Force that linked all living things.
Meetra had been close enough to feel the shock wave; to survive it she had cut herself off from the Force, shielding her psyche against the horrors of what she had unleashed. Many years had passed before she regained her connection to the Force, but in the end, surviving the trauma of Malachor V had given her the strength to defeat Darth Traya and her followers.

This is reinforced when Chodo Habat and Moza claim that her suffering is unprecedented and that she endures a planet's worth of pain:
"Forgive me, Chodo, but the human - I could feel her suffering. I did not feel it until she stood before us, but then it filled my senses. Have you ever felt such an intensity before?"
"Only once before. The day I came to Telos and strode upon its ashen surface. It is a planet's worth of pain."
"I do not know how she endures."
"It is because she has no choice. Perhaps in helping to heal a planet, it will help her become whole again."

The Exile resists the corrupting power of the dark side on Malachor V, which has consumed individuals such as Darth Traya:
"There is a place in the galaxy where the dark side of the Force runs strong. It is something of the Sith, but it was fueled by war. It corrupts all that walks on its surface—drowns them in the power of the dark side. It corrupts all life, and it feeds on death."

JEDI MASTER KREIA, Revan's old mentor, is still haunted by guilt, wondering whether it was her teaching that resulted in Revan's fall to the dark side, and begins to search for him. Sensing his last location, she travels to Malachor V, but is unable to shield her emotions, and is completely consumed by the dark side of the Force.

Meetra Surik resists the Void on Nathema for a time:
The entire process took less than five minutes, but for Meetra it might as well have been an eternity. She had managed to keep busy up until this point, but while waiting idly by for T3 to finish she began to notice the absence of the Force once more.
She could feel the Void pressing in on her from all sides. At the same time it was pulling on her, trying to rip away the very essence of her existence. Nature abhors a vacuum; the emptiness was trying to fill itself with her energy. For an instant she felt as if she were going to become undone, her physical body discorporating into trillions of subatomic particles that would scatter across the entire surface of Nathema.
No! she screamed in her mind. The Void will not take me! I am more than just a collection of random matter and particles! I am a living being. I am Meetra Surik!
The affirmation of her own existence seemed to push the Void back, at least for the moment. But Meetra knew she couldn’t hold out against it much longer. As much as she tried to ignore what she felt—or, more precisely, didn’t feel—all around her, she knew it was only a matter of time until the horrors of Nathema stripped away her sanity.

Along with Revan and the Hero of Tython, the Exile was one of the few who could resist the Emperor's corruption:
"Revan, the Exile and I were all Jedi-trained. We all resisted the Emperor. What Sith have done so?"
Source: The Old Republic
This is in spite of the fact that the Emperor is capable of withering and running even the strongest Jedi's connection to the light side, his mere presence forcing others to succumb to fear, anger and hatred. The Emperor has even broken dozens of Jedi into submission. In spite of these things, the Exile was able to resist his corruption:
His corrupting influence is so complete that none can stand in his presence without succumbing to fear, anger and hatred. The Emperor can wither and ruin even the strongest Jedi's connection to the light side. They fell to the dark side and returned to Republic space as Sith Lords. Since then, dozens more Jedi have followed the same path into evil.

Force Valor/Protection/Speed
Force Valor is a light-sided power enabling a Jedi to enhance one's resolve and physical traits. Force Protection is the passive (and sometimes active) enhancement of a Force sensitive's durability to varying superhuman degrees. Force Speed is the passive (and sometimes active) enhancement of a Force sensitive's speed to varying superhuman degrees.
Meetra survives the shock wave of the Mass Shadow Generator:
“Meetra was much closer to the mass-shadow generator than you were. She felt the shock wave; it nearly killed her. Left her vulnerable. At the same time, she felt the deaths of the Mandalorians and her fellow soldiers through the Force. It was all too much to bear in her weakened state. It would have killed her.” She paused for emphasis, before continuing. “Instinctively, she protected herself the only way she knew how. She cut herself off from the Force … permanently.”

Force Enlightenment
Force Enlightenment is an extremely rare Force power learned after extensive light side study which enables one to use augmentative powers to the highest level.
Having learned Force Enlightenment on Dantooine, the Exile is able to use it to call upon several defensive and augmentative aspects of the Force at once, all to the highest level, making her completely shielded by the Force:
"The holocron spoke of a way of calling upon several defensive aspects of the Force all at once, a form of sudden enlightenment - it is possible that when active, a Jedi would be almost completely shielded by the Force."

Battle Precognition
Battle Precognition is an Echani technique that allows a Force user to anticipate attacks before they happen, allowing one to avoid them. It is similar to Force Precognition, but derives from warrior insticts as opposed to the clairvoyance granted by the Force.
The Exile learns Battle Precognition from Brianna, allowing her to anticipate attacks before they happen and therefore avoid them:
"It is the way of the Echani to be able to read their opponents - to know where an opponent is going to strike before it connects, anticipate it, and then strike against them. Echani battles are fought several minutes in advance - in many ways, it is much like the game of dejarik played in the core systems. The most advanced among the Echani are able to predict the course of battles by months, and the most revered are said to be able to predict the path of wars. Only Revan ever demonstrated such skill in war. And even as he slaughtered us, the Echani still respected him."
"Can you teach me to do this?"
"You are already doing it. If you do not know you are doing it, then training will make you a dangerous opponent indeed. Come - as we fight more, I will teach you. Do not think about predicting my movements - react instinctively. You are doing better. At first, I was afraid that your awareness of your own ability might ruin it, but that is not the case.
{A little surprised again}
You learn quickly. Perhaps it is your connection to the Force that allows such things, but I do not think so. Now you fight as an Echani warrior fights - always in the future."

Crucitorn
Crucitorn is a Jedi technique used to transcend the physical senses in order to ignore pain.
The Exile learns Crucitorn, allowing her to turn aside pain and ignore it:

Breath Control
Breath Control is an ability enabling a Force user to hold their breath for extremely long periods of time without oxygen. This technique can be used to avoid poison gas.
When the Exile is in danger of being killed by poisonous gas fumes in the Jekk-Jekk Tarr, Kreia telepathically teaches the technique to her, giving Surik the ability to sustain her breath and prevent herself from breathing in the poisonous fumes:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmqDMgfBbn0
Kreia: "Listen to me - clear your thoughts."
Exile: "Wh... can't... breathe."
Kreia: "Still your breathing, let the trace amounts of air in your lungs hold you. The Force can sustain you... listen to it. Let it keep you alive until you reach safety. It is an old technique, similar to the healing trance - some Jedi can hold their breath for hours, even days..."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
As you collapse, gasping for breath, Kreia makes telepathic contact with you. With her guidance, you learn Breath Control, a secret Force power that seals you in a protective bubble and makes you completely immune to the gas.

Beast Control
Beast Control, also known as Beast Trick or Animal Friendship, is an ability that enables one to control beasts.
The Exile is taught Beast Control by Kreia:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWMiOuHYDL8
Kreia: "A moment - that beast there. Do you see it? The Force flows even through these simple creatures. If you empty your mind you may be able to feel its thoughts. They aren't fully formed. Basic instincts, primal urges, every breath dominated by the needs of the moment."
Exile: "What's the point of this?"
Kreia: "The Force is strong in such creatures... but their minds are weak, prey for those able to hear its thoughts - and influence them."
Exile: "I feel its thoughts."
Kreia: "Good. Beasts can be easier to affect than other sentients. But you must bridge the gap between what distinguishes us and them. You feel its thoughts, yes? Like a low rumble before the storm. Use the Force to create a barrier around it - carefully and slowly."
Exile: [Beast Control] "This shouldn't be difficult."
Kreia: [Failure] "You came close, and you have the potential. With practice you can make any animal passive and pliable. But the cage around their perceptions is a fragile thing. Many things can break its hold. Violence, especially."Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
However, Surik shortly becomes more masterful with the technique as she employs liberal use of it, enabling her to stun any animal she encounters on Dxun:

Force Sense/Force Listening/Telepathy/Empathy
Force Sense is a basic power that enables a Force user to feel or sense events, people, and objects. Force Listening enables one to extend their awareness and perceive sounds throughout particular areas. Telepathy is the power to sense, communicate and manipulate thoughts, whereas Empathy is the power to sense, communicate and manipulate emotions.
Surik is able to affect and dominate minds. Additionally, she can augment her persuasive abilities with the Force, leaving very few individuals with the ability to resist her persuasion:
One of the most important is Affect Mind (including Dominate Mind). Only your main character can use this power. It allows you to augment your Persuade skill with the Force; very few beings can resist its effects.

With Kreia's telepathic aid, Surik learns to use the Force again, sensing the droids in the next room:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_75K_dOxUl8
Kreia: "... be careful. There is much energy in the room beyond... yet it stems from nothing that lives..."
Exile: "Kreia? Wh-?"
Kreia: "...can you not sense them... reach out... cast aside your sight, cast aside what you see, and instead, reach out with your perceptions... ah, you can feel them... the droids you cannot perceive, but the small oscillations of energy... that you can feel... echoing outwards..."

Meetra seemingly senses Visas Marr's presence aboard the Ebon Hawk, and so she is automatically drawn to her:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9zPppGjvpc
Kreia teaches the Exile to extend her senses to hear everything throughout the ship, including T3-M4's welding and a struck motivator, the hum of the hyperdrive/rumble of hyperspace, and even Visas's surface thoughts and the Handmaiden's training, as well as the Handmaiden's hands cutting through the air. She obviously could sense and hear all of this as well (which she references several other times), and this is an incredibly impressive showing. Kreia also comments that this power is something Jedi masters train for for years and never learn, whereas Surik learns it immediately:

Force Sight
Force Sight is a Force ability that enables a Force user to see through the Force, allowing for the perception of things beyond the capacity of one's physical sight to behold.
Visas Marr teaches the Exile Force Sight, which the latter learns quickly:
"First, you must close your eyes... the surface of this ship, its sights will only be a distraction. Now, in your mind, reach out, listen for my breathing. Do not focus on the sound, but the life behind it. Imagine its energy, its texture, in tandem with the breathing - and then, in your mind, step back from the image, and see what remains. {Player gets it, she is impressed toward the end} There... it is not as difficult as I thought - you learn quickly."

Force Resistance/Energy Resistance/Force Barrier
Force Resistance is a Force power that allows a Force user to increase their resistance to Force powers and the influence of the dark side. Energy Resistance is a Force power that weakens the effect of energy attacks on oneself, whilst Force Barrier creates a solid wall of Force energy that is often used defensively but can have offensive purposes.
Meetra Surik knows Force Resistance:

Surik is capable of using defensive Force powers:

Sever Force
Sever Force is a Force power that allows a Force user to sever another Force user's connection to the Force.
The Exile knows Sever Force and is stated to have mastery of it:

The Exile is stated to be have an aptitude for severing others' connections to the Force:
After he leaves to fight the Mandalorians in the early skirmishes before the outbreak of the Mandalorian Wars, she trains with other masters, including Vima Sunrider, who cautions the Jedi Exile to be mindful of her powers, particularly her aptitude for severing another's connection to the Force.
Source: Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide
To survive the sudden Wound in the Force created on Malachor V as the Mass Shadow Generator killed thousands of Jedi and Mandalorians at once, the Exile instinctively Severs herself from the Force, to a degree greater than that of any other who has had the Force stripped of them (Ulic Qel-Droma, Kreia, Jacen Solo, etc.), making herself a Wound in the Force in the process:
"To hear the Force over such pain... it is not possible. It was too much for any Jedi to endure... and it is a wonder that you did not die there when thousands perished, all those you had fought with and struggled with. You cut yourself off, because you had to if you were to survive."

The disturbance in the Force is so great that the Jedi Exile instinctively severs herself from the Force before the backlash rips her to pieces.
Source: Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide
"In times past and in times future, there are Jedi who will stop listening to the Force, those that will try to forget it, but maintain unconscious ties. And those, as in the past just as I, who have had the force stripped from them. But no Jedi ever made the choice you did. To sever ties so completely, so utterly, that it leaves a wound in the Force."

The lead writer of Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, Chris Avellone, claims that the Exile could potentially deafen Revan to the Force for at least a period of time:

Telekinesis is a common Force ability than affords the user the ability to alter and distort reality around them.
The Exile can create Force Whirlwinds:

Surik is capable of unleashing a Force Wave that can send numerous Kinrath hatchlings hurtling into walls, incapacitating them:

Force Forms
The Exile is taught Force Channel by Kreia, and Force Potency, Affinity and Mastery by the Jedi Masters. These Force Forms have varying enhancements (and sometimes drawbacks) on her Force powers. All are esoteric Force techniques, but they allow the Exile to gain supreme mastery over Force powers:
The esoteric Force forms are the domain of the Consular and corresponding Prestige classes, Jedi Master and Sith Lord. Instead of lightsaber forms, these characters gain supreme mastery with Force powers.
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords: Prima Official Game Guide
Force Channel allows the recovery of the Force more quickly as well as a slight enhancement to strength in the Force:
"It allows you to recover your strength with the Force more quickly, and it lends strength to your Force powers. It has no other drawbacks - such a form is a gift, preferred of the Jedi Consulars, and effective in combats where you must fight only with the Force."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Force Channel's regenerative traits can allow the Exile to single-handedly take down armies with Force Storm and Insanity without rest:
Keep Force Channel or Force Affinity selected to regenerate Force faster, allowing you to tackle entire armies single-handedly with a volley of Force Storms and Insanity without having to stop and rest.
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords: Prima Official Game Guide
Force Potency causes one's Force powers to become drastically more powerful, useful for dealing with threads quickly, but drains energy equally quickly:
"The Jedi Order generally scorns unnecessary use of the Force as a weapon. However, it is sometimes necessary to deal with certain powerful threats with a potent Force attack. This form is used for such dire situations. Be warned though. Using your powers in this manner will quickly deplete your Force energy."

"...but there are techniques to enhance one's tie to the Force - to make your influence through the Force more potent. Yet even as such techniques can enhance the Force they should be used cautiously. They can drain you quickly, leaving you at the mercy of your opponents."

Force Affinity is useful for sustained or pitched battles, as it allows the regeneration of Force energy throughout a fight:
"This form gives you increased Force affinity. In simple terms, it helps you to quickly regenerate Force energy in the middle of a fight."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords

Force Mastery is said to be one of the greatest techniques a Jedi Master can learn, and is considered the pinnacle of Force mastery. It can create the illusion of one being more powerful in the Force by increasing the duration of their Force powers, but the focus required can quickly drain Force energy and leave the user vulnerable to Force attack:
"Through careful concentration, the duration of many of your Force powers will be enhanced. But be cautious when you face Dark Jedi. This form drains energy quickly, and decreases resistance to Force powers."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
"This form is considered the pinnacle of Force Mastery. Now watch carefully. This subtle technique enhances the duration of many Force powers at your disposal. However, the focus required for this form can drain your energy quickly and leave you vulnerable to Force attack."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
"This is among one of the greatest techniques of the Jedi Master - yet when one has seen all that you have, it is such a simple thing, you may wonder why you did not notice it before. Do you feel it gathering within you - now, slowly, let it out... slowly - this technique allows you to maintain your Force powers for longer than normal, though the energy and discipline required is great."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
The Exile is so gifted that she quickly masters all of the above forms merely by observing their use by the masters:
"Excellent! I'm impressed with how quickly you've mastered this form. I always knew you were gifted."

Combat Skill
Mandalore compares the Exile's combative prowess to Revan's, claiming that even the greatest Mandalorian warriors, with all their martial training, are no match for her:
"I thought that Revan was a singular Jedi, but now there's you. With all our martial training, battles and ethics, even our greatest warriors are no match for you."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
The Exile has Echani training (which includes Echani fighting arts and Battle Precognition), has martial arts proficiency, and is proficient in a number of weapons such as lightsabers, pistols, rifles and other simple weapons:

The Exile possesses mastery of all the lightsaber forms. Kreia teaches Meetra the Shii-Cho, Makashi and Soresu lightsaber forms, whilst the remaining four are taught by the Jedi Masters Vrook, Kavar and Zez-Kai Ell:
Shii-Cho is a simple, basic lightsaber technique taught to other Jedi, and is a solid fallback choice:
"It is simple, and it's simplicity is strength. It allows focus, a slightly improved chance of connecting with one's opponent. It has no other advantages or disadvantages - it is an effective form to fall back on when no other form will do."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Makashi is a form designed to counter Shii-Cho, specializing in dueling other lightsaber-wielding Force-users, but being poor against blasters:
"Ah - a technique that helps one resist the Force attacks of an enemy, and is also excellent for lightsaber combat. It does more damage, but it leaves you vulnerable to other attacks. Use it against others wielding the Force or lightsabers... but not against anyone else."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Soresu is a defensive form useful against many opponents, especially those with blasters. Soresu can turn somebody's blaster offense against them, but lacks its own offensive power:
"A… defensive technique. But effective. Use it if you do not wish to be hit, or if you are facing many opponents with blasters. With a lightsaber blade and enough skill in deflection, it is an excellent offense against blasters, but in other situations, it merely delays the inevitable."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Ataru is an aggressive dueling form against single opponents, faring poorly against blasters and multiple enemies:
"This is Ataru, an aggressive lightsaber form which is best suited against a single opponent. Take care when you face multiple adversaries, and be sure to close the distance between ranged attackers quickly, as your ability to deflect blaster fire will be diminished."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
"Ataru is the name given to the movements of this form - though it is aggressive, it is focused, and its best use is in combat against a single opponent."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Whether in friendship or in battle, you learn the lightsaber stance Ataru after meeting with Zez-Kai Ell. This stance is perfect for one-on-one battles, like the duel you just survived.

"This form is Ataru. Because it is such an aggressive fighting style, you should only use it against single opponents. And don't try using this form amidst heavy fire. Nothing is more embarrassing for a Jedi than to be cut down by a stray blaster shot."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Shien is a more offensive variant of Soresu, excelling in deflecting blaster fire and protecting against strikes from multiple assailants without compromise to offensive power:
"You will doubtless encounter many situations with multiple assailants. To better protect yourself against enemy fire without compromising your offensive capabilities, use the Shien form."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Whether you ally with Jedi Master Vrook or fight him, you learn a new lightsaber form, Shion, during your encounter. This form improves your defense and makes critical strikes more potent.
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords: Prima Official Game Guide
"This Shien form should prove appropriate - its best use is when you are outnumbered, which I fear suits your... our predicament perfectly. You will find it easier to deflect blaster fire with this form - and it shall also guard you against critical strikes by your opponents."

Niman is a balanced form with no specific strengths or weaknesses:
"For superior balance, use the Niman form. This form has no specific strengths, but no weaknesses either."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Juyo is an extremely ferocious lightsaber form which can devastate lone opponents, but leaves one vulnerable to Force attack:
"There are times when you want to overwhelm a particular opponent quickly. For these situations, use the Juyo form. Do not get carried away using this form, particularly against Dark Jedi. The ferocity required to use this form leaves one vulnerable to enemy Force powers."
Source: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
"I hesitate to teach this to you, because of your demonstrated recklessness... This is Juyo, a very ferocious form of lightsaber offense. It goes without saying to exercise proper control and restraint when using this technique. It may allow you to eviscerate a lone enemy, but it will leave you open to attack by Force powers."

Scourge is impressed by Surik's combat skill, and considers her a true challenge - so much so that he did know who would prevail in a contest between the two of them, despite having only witnessed her beating Murtog and his mercenaries. Part of him wanted to leap into the fray: battling this Jedi would be a true test of his skills. He didn't know which of them would prove the stronger, but he was intrigued by the challenge.

Even whilst impaired by the dark side nexus of Dromund Kaas, Meetra Surik proves superior to an amped Scourge when the two are attacked by an equally amped Nyriss. Despite starting the battle in a disadvantageous position, Surik manages to hold her ground even when Nyriss was concentrating her efforts on her, whereas Scourge is forced away even when he is fighting together with Surik:
She raised her free hand above her head and fired off another burst of lightning. Both Scourge and Meetra threw themselves clear of the deadly electrical bolt, but in doing so they gave Nyriss the early advantage.
Before they could recover, she leapt at them. Despite her withered appearance, she moved with the all the speed and ferocity of a dark side warrior in her prime. She landed right between her two adversaries, her blade flashing back and forth in a series of slashes and cuts that immediately threw her two opponents on the defensive.
Scourge barely managed to parry the first wave of her assault, unable to even think about countering with an attack of his own. Another quick thrust forced him off balance and he staggered backward.
Nyriss seized on the opportunity to focus all her efforts on breaking through Meetra’s defenses. The Jedi was clearly overmatched; though she managed to hold her ground, she was forced down to one knee.

Meetra outfights and slays a pair of Imperial Guards amplified by Vitiate's power on a potent dark side nexus, whilst said nexus hindered her as well:

The Imperial Guards are among the most deadly non-Force sensitives in history, and in sufficient numbers, are deferred to by even the strongest of the Sith:
The Empire's ultimate non-Force sensitive warriors, the Imperial Guard is a selfless army devoted to the Emperor and the Emperor alone. Clad in blood-red armor and wielding deadly weaponry designed to exterminate Force users, the Imperial Guard sweep across the galaxy at the Emperor's command, destroying his enemies both outside and within the Empire. When confronted by the Imperial Guard, the mightiest of Sith have laid down their lightsabers and surrendered to the inevitable death offered by a guardsman's electrostaff. Even members of the Dark Council fear the Imperial Guard, though many would die before confessing such a weakness.
Source: The Old Republic Encyclopedia
Before the Emperor’s apparent demise, the Empire’s greatest non-Force-sensitive combatants were selected for the Imperial Guard to serve and defend the Emperor himself. But being selected and developing into a guardsman were two different matters entirely. The Emperor chose worlds strong in the dark side for his academies–locations where his influence was strongest, where he could form a bond with his would-be guardsmen. In these academies, the candidates would undergo a relentless, merciless training regimen that included regularly scheduled battles to the death. Regardless of what kind of person entered an Imperial Guard academy, if they survived they would emerge as a honed-to-perfection killing machine molded to the Emperor’s will.

Drew Karpyshyn, the author of The Old Republic: Revan, has additionally confirmed that the Imperial Guards that Meetra fought were better than typical Imperial Guards described above:
"I'd agree they were better than the typical Imperial Guard, but I don't like to say what ability they were versus a Jedi Master, etc."
Source: http://i.imgur.com/zp6L2VW.png?1
Karpyshyn also says that the Exile is probably better than Revan at dueling, implying that they're on a similar tier in lightsaber skill:
"And how do you think Revan and the Exile compare as duelists [...] would she beat Revan in a strictly lightsaber duel?"
"This is similar to my last answer - the Exile is probably more skilled at dueling, but I hate "vs" questions."

Force Ghost
Force Ghost is a rare, esoteric technique allowing a Jedi to maintain their identity and consciousness after death. They could then manifest as Force Ghosts that exhibited identical traits they had shown in life, whilst allowing them to interact with the material plane despite not being a part of it.
Upon death, Surik becomes a Force Ghost, using her power to aid Revan in his mental war against the Sith Emperor Vitiate. Specifically, she continuously restored his energy as it faded as a result of being Drained by Vitiate:
Meetra could sense his suffering. When she had died, she had not become one with the Force. Loyal to the end, her spirit had remained with Revan, an invisible presence hovering just outside his cell.
She couldn't speak with him; whatever arcane Sith sorcery the Emperor had used to bind Revan in his cell made that impossible. She doubted Revan was even aware she was there. Yet even though she couldn't communicate with him, she was able to offer aid and support, her power trickling through the energy barrier that surrounded him, a lifeline he could cling to in the dark ocean of his imprisonment.
As the Emperor fed off him, Meetra was allowing Revan to feed off her. Her sustenance strengthened his resolve whenever he grew weak, refreshing and restoring him so he could continue his never-ending mental war.
