Leia Organa Solo Respect Thread

Leia is a character that is rapidly becoming a favorite of mine. She is both underrated and underused, as well, which presents a perfect opportunity and incentive to create a respect thread for her.

Respect Leia Organa Solo:

"But it is she who leads the battle, yes, hmm…Princess Leia Organa. Bold. Strong…her mother's blood flows through her."

Power

By 17 ABY, Leia is the greatest Jedi in the galaxy along with her brother:

Unfortunately for Leia, Kueller got to Luke first, returning him to Almania to await the arrival of Leia. Kueller intended to kill the two greatest Jedi in the galaxy, leaving the way clear for him to rule.

Kyp Durron states that Leia is as strong in the Force as he is:

Yammosks could detect the Force, and Kyp maintained that Leia was as strong in the Force as he was. Han was not at all eased by the explanation.

Force Valor/Protection/Speed

Force Valor is a light-sided power enabling a Jedi to enhance one's resolve and physical traits. Force Protection is the passive (and sometimes active) enhancement of a Force sensitive's durability to varying superhuman degrees. Force Speed is the passive (and sometimes active) enhancement of a Force sensitive's speed to varying superhuman degrees.

Leia reacts to Force Lightning aimed at Han Solo, deflecting it with her lightsaber. This is done decades before she is a Jedi:

Mara winced in sympathetic pain as Solo was thrown backwards into the guardrail at the front of the hologram pit. Through the crackle of the lightning she heard Organa Solo shout her husband's name and jump to his side, dropping her blaster and igniting her lightsaber just in time to catch the third blast of lightning on the green-white blade.

Leia disables a droid with the Force faster than it can finish another word:

"Your cell door has malfunctioned." The droid planted its foot and began to bring up the heavy stun blaster in its right arm. "Return to your cell and remain-"

Leia flicked her finger at the EverAlert's head and used the Force to flip its primary circuit breaker. The switch lay hidden beneath its neck armor, but that was no hindrance to a Jedi.

"-staaaationaaaar..."

The droid's chin slumped against its chest, and the stun bolt it had been preparing ricocheted harmlessly off the floor.

Leia telekinetically slams guards into a blast door before a person can say another word:

"Stang!" the older one said. "She's-"

Leia swept her arm in their direction, using the Force to jerk both guards forward. She slammed them into the blast door, then dropped them across the threshold so the cell block could not be sealed off without crushing them.

Leia runs down a corridor, always a few steps behind a telekinetically hurled insect:

Leia reached back and caught one of the last standing Unu soldiers in a Force grasp, then brought her arm forward and hurled the insect sideways down the corridor. She followed a few steps behind, using its body as a shield, listening to shatter gun pellets drum into its carapace.

Leia breaks a proboscis with two of her fingers:

Leia shot her free hand up between its mandibles, catching the proboscis between two fingers and continuing to shove until it snapped.

Upon punching Alema's chitin-armored body, Leia snaps a bone in her hand, but she ignores the pain, continues holding her lightsaber with both hands and continues fighting normally:

Alema charged out of the melee, her lightsaber already descending for the kill. Leia caught the attack on her blade, then delivered a Force-enhanced punch to the Twi'lek's chitin-armored midsection.

It was like hitting a wall. She felt a bone snap in her hand, and she did not even drive Alema farenough away to buy space to stand. The Twi'lek brought her knee up under Leia's chin, snapping her head back with such force that her vision went black for a moment.

Leia lashed out with her free arm, hooking it around the knee that had just struck her, then launched herself into a back roll. Alema had to spring in the opposite direction, executing a backflip, and they both came up on their feet facing each other. Leia's hand throbbed, but not so badly that it prevented her from grasping her lightsaber handle with both hands.

Leia and Saba create a shield out of their blades, with enough synergy so as to never interfere with one another's blades:

Leia and Saba activated their lightsabers and began to weave an impenetrable shield of light, synchronizing their movements through the battle-meld so that one blade was always in position to block without interfering with the other.

Leia speedblitzes a snake-bird:

On the way down, a cold shiver of danger sense raced along Leia's spine, and she felt something hungry descending on her from above. The hiss of air rushing over wing scales began to rise behind her, and she rolled into a Force flip and ignited her lightsaber, bringing the blade up through the body of something huge, green, and musty smelling.

The snake-bird fell away in two pieces.

Leia resists a kick from Alema Rar. Though the kick causes her intense pain, Leia is able to endure it without moving a centimeter, and forces the pain out:

Alema dropped to her haunches and somehow snap-kicked from that impossible position, and Leia's middle exploded into pain.

The Princess exhaled hard, forcing the pain out, and did not yield a centimeter.

Leia perceives the blaster bolts she fired in slow-motion:

The darkness faded from her eyes, but her blaster bolts were snaking toward their target in slow motion, while the target-a shimmering blue mirage that seemed to have three heads and six arms-was limping toward her behind a lightsaber moving so fast that it seemed to be weaving a shield of solid light.

Leia kills a man faster than Han can straighten up:

Han dragged himself out, catching his scalp on something and cursing. When he straightened up, Leia was standing over what Han could only describe as a dead guy. He was in civilian clothing and looked about thirty. He wouldn’t be seeing thirty-one, that was for sure.

Leia forms a basket of sapphire light out of her blade as she deflects blaster bolts:

She deflects blaster fire in such quantities it appeared to be the efflux of an ion drive, and earlier presumably deflects similar or even large quantities of blaster fire while somersaulting and twisting through the air. Later she deflects fire from around a dozen guards and deflect the bolts away from them to avoid hurting them, which means she must have had a very casual time deflecting fire from them if she could control the paths of each of the blaster bolts to prevent them from hitting their shooters.

Then the deafening bang of a concussion grenade echoed down the corridor. Han was momentarily blinded by a brilliant flash of yellow. Leia cried out in surprise, and the air resonated with the piercing shriek of blaster-fire. Hapan voices began to scream and abruptly fall silent, and blaster bolts flew down the corridor so furiously it took a moment for Han to realize his vision had cleared.

Leia was Force-tumbling back toward him, somersaulting and twisting through the air, arcing from one side of the corridor to the other, batting blaster bolts aside and taking momentary shelter behind the display pedestals. Behind her, the surviving assassins-if there were any- were nowhere to be seen, and a wall of royal guards was charging into the far end of the corridor, power blasters blazing.

Han rose just high enough to show his shoulders and head above the pedestal he was using for cover. "Knock it off, you rodders!" he yelled. "We’re on..."

A volley of blaster bolts brought his protest to an end, blowing the armor display off its stand and sending him to the floor beneath a crashing avalanche of durasteel.

"Han!" Leia’s voice was barely audible over the screech of blasterfire, and the burned-meat stink of blaster combat had grown so thick in the hail that Han felt like retching. "Keep down!"

"Like I have a choice," Han grumbled-or would have grumbled, had there been enough air in his chest to do so.

He pushed a twenty-kilo breastplate off his shoulders and head, then rolled to his knees. His breath still would not come, but the ache in his chest was dull and general, suggesting he’d simply had the air knocked out of him. Leia was on the opposite side of the corridor and a little ahead of him, trapped behind a display pedestal by a torrent of blasterfire so bright and constant it resembled an ion drive’s efflux.

Han looked back to the royal guards, who had already advanced halfway down the corridor. "Okay," he growled. "I’ve had it with you guys shooting at my wife."

He dropped back behind the display pedestal, pointed his blaster at the ceiling, and fired into the heart of the giant chandelier. It took only a handful of shots to bring the huge fixture down in a chiming crash of wind crystals and metal, and the torrent of blasterfire coming down the corridor immediately faded to a fraction of what it had been. He raised his head again and saw that the chandelier had landed squarely in the midst of the charging guards, leaving the largest part of the company sprawled on the floor-injured, trapped, or just too dazed to move.

But nearly a dozen guards had been far enough down the corridor to escape the chandelier. They were concentrating their fire on Leia, driving her back behind the pedestal every time she tried to make a break for Han’s side of the corridor. And Leia was not helping matters much, simply deflecting their bolts instead of batting them back into her attackers. Clearly, she was trying to avoid hurting Hapans still loyal to Tenel Ka

Leia knocks out a man with a roundhouse kick, then another with a spinning crescent. She then speedblitzes a young man:

She took one man out with a roundhouse kick to the head and sent another cartwheeling into the wall with a spinning crescent - then found herself looking down the barrel of an E-ll blaster rifle. When she raised her gaze, it was to see a young recruit only two or three years older than her son Anakin had been when he died.

The boy's pupils widened, and Leia knew he was going to blast her. She brought her lightsaber up beneath his arms, slashing them off at the elbows, then spun away feeling sick and sad. This was not right, fighting on the day of Mara's funeral, drawing blood inside the Jedi Temple, maiming her own son's troopers.

Leia and Tahiri Veila deflect a flurry of stun bolts from a squad of marines, reflecting them back at their firers even as they duel one another:

Han dropped, barely reaching the floor before a flurry of stun bolts flashed toward the fight-then reversed directions as the two Jedi batted the attacks back toward their sources. The marines collapsed in moans and spasms, the redheaded captain cracking skulls with Han as she landed atop him.

Leia attacks a briefly stunned Tahiri so quickly that the latter would not have had the time to block the attack. Due to Han's plea, Leia is distracted, allowing Tahiri to barely block the strike. Afterwards, Leia unleashes knee and elbow strikes with speed and ferocity only possible for a Barabel-trained fighter:

Leia accelerated her pirouette, trying to land the attack before Tahiri had time to block, and that was when Han began to realize his wife was really serious about this-she wasn't in it just to teach the younger woman a lesson.

"Leia, wo!"

The plea made Leia hesitate just long enough for Tahiri to block, then Leia was on her feet again, keeping Tahiri pinned against the strut, beating down her guard, slipping in knee and elbow strikes with a speed and ferocity that only a Barabel-trained fighter could achieve.

Leia knocks Han off the floor and knocks the air out of his chest with an elbow to the ribs:

He wrapped his arms around Leia's shoulders and pulled her back - then felt the air leave his chest and his feet leave the floor as she instinctively slammed an elbow into his ribs and started to throw him.

Leia is unharmed by a particularly large Wookiee smashing his elbow onto her shoulder. Additionally, because of Saba's training, her pain tolerance is enough for her to take the blow without crying out in pain:

A particularly large elbow, descending from a ferocious cheer, crashed down on Leia's shoulder and drove her to her knees. She didn't cry out - Saba had broken her of that particular urge by rapping her on the head until she learned to accept pain silently - but it didn't prevent the elbow's owner from scowling down to see what kind of critter he had just smashed.

"No harm." Leia rose and rotated her arm. "See? It still works."

Leia deflects "three or five thousand bolts" from a droid in the span of a couple of seconds at most:

The exchange took place in what seemed like slow motion. Han's shoulders did not hit the door - he staggered back into the corridor.

Leia's blade came up and deflected the first three or five thousand bolts from the droid's right arm.

Someone shot the droid three, four, five times in the chest-Han was surprised to see the blaster in his own hand, firing as fast as his finger could pull the trigger, his brain not figuring into the equation - and then his shoulderblades hit the passageway wall behind him, throwing his aim off.

In the fraction of a second that Querdan Dei loses sight of her, Leia effectively blitzes him before he can defend himself, decapitating the Sith:

Complementarity - their blades locked, sizzling, then they spun away from each other, and Dei realized he'd made a mistake. Spinning toward his off-hand as he'd done thousands of times, he lost sight of his opponent a fraction of a second early, betrayed by his missing eye. He felt Leia surge in the Force. He whirled his blade in a defensive, protective pattern, but it encountered nothing.

They came to a stop facing each other. Dei felt a curious sense of detachment.

Then he found himself staring at the sky. He didn't know how, but suddenly he was looking up at the stars. Then at the camp beyond the overlook, and it was upside down. Then at the backs of his own legs and feet. His head hit the sand a moment before his body collapsed. His head rolled a few meters, then came to a stop. The last thing he saw was the nexu, puffed up, blood-spattered, sitting staring at him.

And darkness washed that image away forever.

Mental Endurance & Resilience

Before she received any training in the Force - in fact, before she even learnt of her Force-sensitivity - Leia is capable of preventing Vader from manipulating her mind with the Force to extract knowledge of the Rebel base's location, and also resists mind probes and truth drugs, showing mental resiliency and control that rivals that of a Jedi:

Behind him, the interrogator droid followed. It was a crude tool, a blunt instrument compared with the subtlety and precision possible with the Force; however, Princess Leia's mind was too strong to easily manipulate, even with the power of the dark side at his beck and call. It was possible that he could wrest the knowledge from her, but he might end up destroying the very information he sought. She would force him to burn her brain to a husk before she would willingly part with the data - of that he had no doubt.

But, after half an hour, despite the truth drugs, electrical shocks, and other inducements he had administered, it was evident that her resistance had not been lowered enough for him to probe her mind. That was surprising.
She was physically weakened and in considerable pain, but her mind remained shielded. She had revealed nothing.
Most unusual for anyone except a Jedi to have such control, he mused.Source: Death Star

Combat Skill

Leia defeats and kills an amped Beldorion in lightsaber combat:

In the curtains of sun-glittering dust that filled the open gateway of the launch bay a woman stood, slender and tiny in the moving aura of misty light.Taselda? His old rival, his old enemy, flashed to mind . . . No. The little Jedi woman, the woman Ashgad had brought, the woman Dzym had wanted, a small shining figure in the shadows, with the pale glory of a lightsaber shining like tamed starfire in her hand.

"Don't test me, little Princess." His own blade stretched forth with a deadly thrumming, a pallid and sickly violet. "It has been years. I may be a lazy old slug now, but I am Beldorion still."

Heart beating fast, Leia studied him, remembering how Jabba had moved, sidelong and looping, using the center of the body as a balance point. She recalled the one time Jabba had become displeased with someone at his court--the fat housekeeper who danced or was it his long-suffering cook--and had gone after her or him with a stick. Recalled the deadly speed of even that obese and sluggish bulk. Yet she felt no fear. She didn't reply and could feel that it displeased him. He was the kind, she realized, who liked to expound before he killed. Good.

"You were a sweet little girl. Don't make me--" Leia struck. Step, step, thrust, as Callista had shown her, a hard clean slash like diminutive lightning, and Beldorion, still expounding, barely got out of the way. But his counterstrike was unbelievably fast, the strength of it nearly breaking her wrists as she intercepted it on the blade, the doubled vibration roaring in her head and in her bones. The blades twined, snarled, Leia twisting out from under another descending blow and barely dodging when the descending swerved to lateral an old trick, Callista had said, but it took practice and left you open. Leia dodged back, shaken by the Hutt's sheer, animal strength.

She stepped back in, pressing him, her attention narrowed to nothing but the monstrous thing before her and the shining blades. Nothing else existed in her mind. He had enormous striking range, flinging forward like a serpent, so that she threw herself sidelong, rolled--Thank you for the practice, Callista, Luke--under the paralyzing wallop of his tail and was on her feet again and going in, the blade seeming to stream fire from her hand. Not a second, not a moment, to lose--the plague rising up from this dim-shining world the monster coming toward her again, rutilant eyes staring. He struck with his tail again, hundreds of kilos flashing with the speed of a whip. She barely dodged, wishing she had Luke's acrobatic training, his ability to Force-lift. The blades tangled, parted, Leia panting as she leapt sideways again, sparring for distance, watching the tail, fighting to remain close enough to strike. In and out, Callista had said. It's the only way for a woman to fight.

Like a huge serpent he struck, and she raised her blade to defend, her mind open with the Force, feeling before he did so that he was going to switch to lateral again. He did, and she was in under the blow and slashing a long, streaming, sidelong cut that went through the soft green body like burning wire. She flung herself past him, away from him, fast, for the huge bulk of him burst open, severed clean through, mammoth gouts of fluid and flesh and organs exploding soddenly forth. She heard him bellow with rage, once--saw the hot smoke-colored blade of his lightsaber go whirling, end over end. Then he was collapsing like a punctured balloon, like an empty sack, and Leia stood panting, covered in slime, her own blade burning in her hand, as Luke flung himself out from under the Headhunter and into its cockpit.

Dripping with filth, she saluted him with the blade, and Luke saluted back, their eyes meeting for an instant before he slammed the cockpit shut. Luke knew what it was that he saw. Her first victory. The victory over the shadow of Vader. The victory of acceptance of herself.

Decades before being trained as a Jedi, Leia defeats Luke Skywalker in a spar, though Luke is holding back:

But it had been a long while since she had been given a chance to fight with her hands, her speed, her agility, rather than just her mind.

No wonder there was a gleam in her eye as she raised her lightsaber and swung it down toward Luke's blade.

He deflected her first thrust down and to the left and went back to guard just in time to parry another thrust that came close to getting under his guard. Leia let her blade slide down Luke's and then pivoted under his guard, freeing her blade to face him from the right. Luke stepped back and swung around as he adjusted his stance to meet her attack. He had intended to go easy on her, but it seemed that he was not going to get the chance. She was too fast, too good.

Luke decided to move to the attack. He dropped his left hand from the saber's grip and extended his blade in a one-handed thrust to give himself more reach as he advanced toward Leia. But she would have none of that. She brought her lightsaber crashing down at the tip of his blade, striking with maximum violence at precisely the angle required to knock his blade downward. The strike forced Luke into an awkward backhanded stance while weakening his grasp on the saber's handle. His blade slammed down into the permacrete of the landing pad, gouging a hole in it, forcing him to concentrate, if only for a moment, on freeing his blade, rather than on his opponent.

He almost had the blade clear, but it was already too late. Leia reversed her stroke and swung hard at his blade from the opposite direction, slamming it clear of the permacrete-and knocking Luke's lightsaber completely out of his hand. The lightblade cut off automatically when Luke's hand was off the grip. The weapon went sailing through the air, landing fifteen meters away on the hard stand.

Leia fights closely with Alema Rar, often on either equal or superior ground, despite only being trained as a Jedi for less than a year:

"Alema Rar!" Leia said. "I've been looking forward to this."

Leia reached back and caught one of the last standing Unu soldiers in a Force grasp, then brought her arm forward and hurled the insect sideways down the corridor. She followed a few steps behind, using its body as a shield, listening to shatter gun pellets drum into its carapace.

A couple of moments later, she heard the snap-hiss of an igniting lightsaber, then a blade so blue it was almost black sliced the insect in half. Leia pressed the attack, leaping between the body halves as they dropped away, hitting Alema with a Force shove and bringing her own blade around in an overhand power strike.

Alema barely got her guard up in time, and sparks filled the air as the two blades met. Leia brought her foot up in a driving stomp kick that rocked the Twi'lek back on her heels, then rolled her lightsaber into a horizontal slash at Alema's limp arm.

Alema had no choice except to pivot away and bring her weapon around in a desperate block that left her sideways and out of position. Leia swung her foot around in a powerful roundhouse kick that caught the Twi'lek behind the knees and swept both legs.

Alema landed flat on her back, her mouth gaping and her green eyes wide with alarm. Leia allowed herself a small smirk of satisfaction-recalling how lopsided the combat had been in Alema's favor the last time they fought-then blocked a desperate slash at her ankles and slipped into a counter, angling the tip of her blade toward the Twi'lek's heart.

Before Leia could drive the thrust home, a thrumming mass of blue chitin hit her in the chest and bowled her over backward. She tried to bring her lightsaber up and found her arms pinned to her chest, then her attacker pressed the muzzle of a shatter gun to her ribs. She used the Force to push the weapon away, but then the insect's mandibles were clamped around her head, its needle-sharp proboscis darting toward her eye.

Leia shot her free hand up between its mandibles, catching the proboscis between two fingers and continuing to shove until it snapped. The Gorog let out a distressed whistle and bore down with its mandibles, and the edge of her face exploded into pain. But by then she was shoving at the insect with the Force, opening enough of a gap so she could bring her lightsaber up and slice her attacker in two.

Leia started to spring up-until a storm of blaster bolts streamed past overhead, tearing into a trio of Gorog at her feet. Half a dozen crew members rushed past and crashed into the wall of insects in a deafening cacophony of blows and small-arms fire, then Bwua'tu appeared at her side, reaching down to help her up.

"Princess! Are you-"

"Fine!" Leia brought her feet under her, automatically raising her lightsaber in a high block. "Get ba-"

Bwua'tu and the rest of the crew members were behind Alema, pressing the attack on the Gorog and driving them back toward the capture bay. On the other side of the hatch, Leia sensed Saba and the Noghri, struggling to override the security system so they could join the battle. Coming down the corridor behind her, working their way through the smoke left by the Grendyl's grenade, Leia heard the distant drone of the surviving assassin bugs.

Alema studied Leia with narrowed eyes. "You've been practicing."

Leia shrugged. "A little."

"It won't matter," Alema sneered. "You're too old to start being a real Jedi now."

Leia raised her brow. "I think I need to teach you some manners."

Leia sprang forward, once again attacking the side with Alema's crippled arm. This time, the Twi'lek did not make the mistake of underestimating her opponent. She gave ground quickly, pivoting around so that her crippled side was protected.

Their blades clashed time and again, each Jedi augmenting their lightsaber strikes with Force shoves and telekinesis attacks, each trying to take advantage of the other's weakness. Leia's face had become so swollen that she could barely see out of one eye, and Alema kept circling to find a blind spot. As Alema tried to protect her weak side, Leia kept slipping toward it, forcing the Twi'lek to retreat toward the security hatch. All the time, the drone of the assassin bugs drew nearer.

Then Bwua'tu and the Ackbar's crew began to overwhelm Alema's company of insect-soldiers, forcing them past her toward the access terminal. Though the Twi'lek's back was now to the main fight, as the admiral and his followers drew closer to the terminal, the knowledge came to her through Gorog's collective mind. Her eyes flashed with alarm, then she sprang back, locked her blade on, and hurled her lightsaber at Leia's legs.

Leia had no choice but to block low and pivot away, and in that second Alema pointed at Bwua'tu's spine and let loose a crackling stream of Force lightning. Leia started to grab the admiral in the Force, intending to jerk him out of the way, but his aide Grendyl was already leaping to protect him.

The lightning caught the woman full in the chest, hurling her back into Bwua'tu and knocking him to the deck. Leia leapt at Alema, striking for the shoulders. The Twi'lek spun away... and launched Leia into a wall with a whirling back kick to the ribs.

The blunt clang of skull against durasteel sounded inside Leia's head. Her mind turned to gauze and she thought for a moment that the bloodcurdling howl assaulting her ears was her own. Then she noticed the meter-long segment of amputated lekku flopping around on the deck like a baagalmog out of water.

Leia looked up and found Alema trembling and screaming in pain, the cauterized stump of one nerve-packed head-tail ending just above her shoulder. But the Twi'lek's pain did not prevent her from releasing another stream of Force lightning-this time into the access terminal itself.

The unit exploded into a spray of sparks, pieces, and fumes. The security hatch gave the telltale hiss of a breaking seal, and Bwua'tu cried out in frustration.

Leia sprang to her feet and started toward Alema.

The Twi'lek was already stretching her arm up the corridor, calling her lightsaber back to hand. Leia heard the sizzle of the blade growing louder behind her and dropped into a deep squat as the weapon spun past overhead, then stabbed for Alema's heart.

The Twi'lek brought her blade down and blocked easily, then brought her foot up in a side-snap kick that caught Leia in the base of the throat. The blow was more painful than harmful, but Leia dropped to her seat, coughing and choking and trying to make it sound as though her larynx had been crushed. She could hear the drone of the assassin bugs only a few meters behind her and knew the time had come to end this fight-and she could see by the unreasoning fury in Alema's eyes that the wounded Twi'lek was primed for a mistake.

Leia rolled her eyes back in her head and let herself collapse to the floor. She heard Alema slide forward, then felt a knot of anticipation form in her stomach as the time approached to bring her blade slashing up through the Twi'lek's abdomen-and that was when Leia felt a surge of relief from Saba and the Noghri. A loud grating sounded from the security hatch, and she knew her Master and bodyguards had finally forced it open.

The pulsing whine of Meewalh's T-21 repeating blaster echoed down the corridor, then Alema's blade began to hiss and sizzle as it batted blaster bolts away. Leia opened her eyes to find the Twi'lek dancing along one wall of the corridor, just beyond reach and retreating into the droning cloud of assassin bugs.

When their eyes met, Alema's brow shot up in surprise. She flicked her lightsaber up in a brief salute, then gave Leia a spiteful sneer and fled out of sight.

In another rematch, Leia defeats Alema Rar again, this time by using a Spidersloth and displaying considerable tactical fighting ability:

Leia charged, firing her blaster pistol with one hand and activating her lightsaber with the other. There was no question of giving Alema a chance to escape later by working with her now-even if it meant letting the Chiss recover the bomb. Eliminating the Dark Nest was the core of Luke's plan, and the Twi'lek was a big part of that nest.

Alema rushed to meet the attack, igniting her own lightsaber, wielding it with her one good arm and easily deflecting the stream of bolts. They met at a large burl where a smaller limb converged with its parent, their lightsabers coming together in a sizzle of sparks and color.

Leia jolted Alema with a one-handed power attack that hammered the Twi'lek's block down easily, then whipped her blade around in a buzzing backslash at a pulsing span of blue undefended throat. Alema dropped to her haunches and somehow snap-kicked from that impossible position, and Leia's middle exploded into pain.

The Princess exhaled hard, forcing the pain out, and did not yield a centimeter. She swept her blade down to attack the extended leg, but Alema had already drawn her foot back, and she ended up blocking the Twi'lek's blade as it came sizzling in at her knees.

Leia rolled her wrist and sent Alema's lightsaber flying, then brought her blaster pistol around and allowed herself a small smirk as she opened fire.

It was too soon to gloat.

Alema was already twisting away and launching herself backward in the air, her handed extended to recall her falling lightsaber. A pair of bolts burned past the Twi'lek's legs-so close that her flight suit began to smoke-but she rolled into an evasive Force tumble and landed unscathed on the adjacent branch ... and slipped. She inhaled sharply and started to fall, then hooked the back of her knee over the branch and caught herself.

Leia fired at the knee, but Alema was already swinging around, facing her, deep blue lightsaber in hand, batting blaster bolts straight back at her. Leia stopped firing. The Twi'lek slipped back into the branch moss in a seated position, then brought her leg up and stretched it along the branch, staring at her boot.

Leia's earlier slash had not missed after all. The front half of Alema's boot was missing-along with half her foot. The Twi'lek turned toward Leia, her unblinking eyes wide in astonishment and anger, and that was when Leia's comlink earpiece crackled to life.

"How's it going down there?" Han asked.

"Busy!" Leia said into her throat mike.

"Any sign of the bombs?" Han pressed.

"Not really."

Leia watched in alarm as Alema rose and peered over the branch behind her-no doubt plotting an escape route.

"Gotta go," Leia said. "I'm sort of in the middle of something."

Determined not to let her prey escape, Leia Force-jumped from her branch toward Alema's.

The Twi'lek's withered arm swung up, reaching toward Leia. The princess tucked into an evasive somersault - then felt herself rolling the wrong way as her feet were Force-jerked in the opposite direction. She called on the Force to stop her rotation, but by then the back of her head was thonking into the side of the branch.

The moss was not as thick on the sides of the branches. The sound echoed inside her skull so hard that Leia thought she would never hear anything else. Then she felt her feet whipping down from above and sensed the darkness rising up to swallow hers and she knew she had come to one of those terrible instants when everything depended on willpower and the stubborn desire to live.

Fortunately, Saba had prepared her well for such moments. Leia found her arms lashing out behind her, one elbow hooking over the branch to stop her fall. Everything remained dark, but she knew she had to keep fighting, to keep her enemy . . . whoever that was-she was having trouble remembering . . . at bay.

Leia felt the blaster pistol in one hand and her lightsaber in the other . . . another of Saba's lessons ringing inside her head, never, never drop your weapon, die with your weapon sssstill in your hand ... and Leia started to fire the blaster, pointing it down the branch where the trouble-who was it again?-seemed to lie. A familiar voice sounded in her ear.

"Hey, that sounds like blasterfire!"

Han.

"Yeah .. . it is." Leia started to recall the situation - a jungle, a Twi'lek, a fight - Alema Rar. "Now be quiet!"

Leia shook her head - big mistake-then whipped her leg up over the branch, still firing. The darkness faded from her eyes, but her blaster bolts were snaking toward their target in slow motion, while the target-a shimmering blue mirage that seemed to have three heads and six arms-was limping toward her behind a lightsaber moving so fast that it seemed to be weaving a shield of solid light.

Then one of the six blue arms moved. Leia's blaster flew from her own hand and vanished into the billowing greenness of the out-of-focus jungle.

The fight was not going exactly as planned.

Saba always said that planning would be Leia's downfall; that she planned too much and felt too little. She had also said that a shenhit always saves its deepest bite for last.

Leia pushed off the mossy branch and brought her feet up beneath her. The Princess had never met a shenhit, but Saba usually uttered the saying in sparring practice, right before she drove her student into the deck with a flurry of power strikes. Leia began to advance on her three-headed, six-armed opponent, weaving her blade through the frenzied slash-slice-and-rip of a Barabel rage attack.

To Leia's astonishment, the three-headed enemy suddenly stopped advancing, then began to retreat.

"Wait! This is silly!" Again, that beguiling voice and that furtive Force-touch, trying to dampen the negative thoughts and bolster the positive ones. Alema pointed her lightsaber over the side of the branch. "The bomb is right down there."

Leia stopped advancing-more to give her eyes a chance to bring her enemy into focus than because she was considering the offer-and glanced down. There did seem to be a big silver blur lying in a bed of green.

"It would be a shame to let the Chiss recover it," Alema said. "Can't we strike a truce long enough to destroy it-then finish killing each other?"

Leia pretended to consider the offer while her vision finished clearing, then-when Alema's extra heads and arms disappeared-she shook her own head.

"Let's do it now."

Leia started forward ... and instantly regretted her decision when the branch bounced and nearly buckled her knees. She noticed it sagging beneath her weight and realized she was farther out on the end than she had perceived in her foggy-headed state. It was a mistake that would cost her dearly. With such unreliable footing, the Princess would be even worse off than her half-footed foe.

Alema was quick to press her advantage, hobbling forward to attack, launching a flurry of strike and Force-push combinations that drove Leia back even farther toward the tip of the bouncing branch. The Princess parried, but her reactions had been slowed by her head blow, and she had to retreat yet another step. She Force-shoved at Alema's knee, but the nimble Twi'lek - who had spent her youth dancing in the ryll dens of Kala'uun - simply lifted her bad foot and pirouetted forward on the good one, driving Leia back another, even longer step.

The branch sagged so precariously that the Princess had to Force-stick herself in place.

"Hey, those sound like lightsabers!" Han observed over Leia's earpiece.

"They are!" Leia growled. "Can you just hold on?" Now the branch was bouncing even when the Princess wasn't moving, and her danger sense was covering her back with goose bumps. Had Alema launched a power attack-even a weak one-Leia's only choice would have been to drop off the branch and hope she could catch another one with the Force on the way down. Instead, the Twi'lek seemed content merely to hold the Princess in place with defensive swordplay.

Then comprehension finally burned its way through the concussion fog inside Leia's head. The danger she was sensing had nothing to do with Alema. A predator had landed behind her . . . something large enough to weigh down a limb the size of her thigh.

Alema smiled. "Dinnertime, Princess."

Leia's blood began to burn with a very Barabel-like rage. She would not die at the hands of some Twi'lek dancing girl - or at the claws of some jungle flunky. She went on the attack, forgetting her slow reactions and foggy head and uneven footing, and let the battle take her - let her lightsaber block and slash and stab of its own accord, let her feet dance back and forth over the bouncing limb.

Alema came at her just as strongly, kicking with her half foot, stretching out for long lightsaber lunges, pushing constantly through the Force-steadily driving Leia back toward the hungry presence that she could now sense coming up behind her.

Then a wisp of hot breath brushed the back of Leia's neck, and she knew it was time. The Princess tried a throat slash and swung wide, deliberately leaving herself open for a heart thrust. Never having been one to resist temptation, Alema could not help lunging for the kill.

Leia had already flexed her knees and was springing off the sagging branch, bringing her feet up over her head in an open Force flip. She saw the Twi'lek stretched out below her, not quite off balance-but not far from it-her neck craned back as she watched her target fly overhead. Leia brought her lightsaber down, striking for the head. Alema could only whip her lightsaber up in a desperate block. The blades clashed in a growling shower of sparks and light, then the Princess was swinging down behind her, twisting around to plant one foot between the Twi'lek's shoulders and send her stumbling toward the shaggy mass that had been creeping up behind Leia.

There was no time to tell what kind of creature the thing was. All Leia saw was something the size of a bantha taking Alema's sword arm in its jaws. The Twi'lek screamed in pain; then four spiky pedipalps emerged from the side of the creature's mouth and began to feed her in.

Alema's legs were still outside, kicking wildly, when Leia felt the thing's attention fall on her and noticed six beady eyes peering out from beneath the mossy scales that covered its head. Before it could spring, the Princess brought her lightsaber down, cutting the branch away at her feet.

Instead of plummeting toward the jungle floor, the creature swung outward, hanging suspended by a thick, ropy tail that ascended more than ten meters to a branch above. It was even larger than Leia had first imagined, with a long slug-like body that had dozens of tiny feet wriggling on the underside. Alema remained in its mouth, kicking her feet and presumably screaming into its throat. Leia locked her lightsaber blade in the on position, then used the Force to send it spinning through the tail.

The predator - whatever it was - did not open its mouth or roar in pain. It simply plummeted groundward, filling the jungle with a terrific banging and cracking as it crashed through the mogo boughs, then finally splashed into the dark river below.

Leia called her lightsaber back to her hand, and had barely switched it off before Han's voice came over her earpiece again.

Leia's next rematch with Alema Rar, which is too quick to be conclusive while Rar also tries only to defend rather than attack:

She stopped abruptly and stared to the left. Han followed her gaze ... to see Alema Rar emerging from wall-side shadows, an odd smile on her lips, her lit lightsaber in her hand.

"Mine," Leia said, and leapt forward.

Han ignored her. He fired at the Twi’lek, but Alema casually caught the bolt with her lightsaber, then began spinning her blade in a defensive pattern as Leia reached her.

...

"Sweetheart?"

"Busy." Leia swung an almost ceaseless flurry of blows at Alema, but the Twi’lek Jedi continued backing away, fighting a defensive action, never trying to attack. It was unlike her.

"Jacen’s run off."

Han’s words created a tight knot in Leia’s chest. She had risked her life, and Han his, to save their son, and Jacen had just left them behind.

But she couldn’t dwell on that. Alema was still a dangerous foe. Leia had to win here.

"Sweetheart."

"Now what?"

"Incoming."

Leia backflipped away from her enemy, and in midrotation saw that the view of Gilatter VIII was partially blocked-the same ship she’d seen Alema disappear in only days before was headed straight for them.

As she landed, she saw that Alema had switched off her lightsaber and was donning a close-fitting, flexible helmet with a transparent faceplate-an emergency decompression helmet. Alema smiled at her.

Leia proves to be Tahiri Veila's superior as she holds the advantage over her in a duel. She gains a position where she would have killed Tahiri were it not for Han's plea:

A pair of lightsabers sizzled to life behind the woman, and sparks flew as Leia and Tahiri brought their weapons together. By the time the captain spun back around, the two Jedi were locked in a furious battle of flashing blades and flying feet.

"Stop!" the captain ordered. She motioned to her squad, who instantly flipped their blaster rifle power settings to stun and leveled the barrels at the combatants. "You will stop, or we'll open fire."

Leia landed a jaw-cracking elbow under Tahiri's chin, and Tahiri slammed a knee into Leia's ribs. The captain cursed under her breath, then turned to her marines.

"Hold on!" Han said. "That's a really bad..."

"Fire at will, "the captain ordered.

Han dropped, barely reaching the floor before a flurry of stun bolts flashed toward the fight-then reversed directions as the two Jedi batted the attacks back toward their sources. The marines collapsed in moans and spasms, the redheaded captain cracking skulls with Han as she landed atop him.

He rolled out from beneath her, cursing and rubbing his head. The hangar was ringing with security alarms, and royal guards were pouring from hidden crannies and secret passages, but the two Jedi remained oblivious. Leia connected with a vicious thrust kick that bent Tahiri backward over a landing strut crossbar.

Tahiri grunted and pointed at a loose blaster rifle, bringing it tumbling into Leia from behind, catching her between the shoulder blades and knocking her to the floor.

Leia flipped onto her back and brought her legs up over her head, landing on one foot and pirouetting straight into the attack, her blade level with Tahiri's neck.

"Wait!" Han cried. "Not my strut!"

"Leia, stop!" Han yelled. "You want to kill her?"

Leia continued to press the attack, and Han realized that was exactly what she wanted to do. She had found a handy target for all her rage, just as he had when he'd blamed Anakin for Chewbacca's death, and she was determined to make Tahiri pay for what had happened to Luke.... and for what Jacen had become.

Han snatched the blaster pistol from the captain's hand and, hoping to startle his wife back to her senses, sent a bolt zinging past her. It glanced off the Falcon and left a black, smoking furrow in the hull-apparently, the captain had not set her blaster to stun. Leia glanced away just long enough for Tahiri to land a spinning back-kick that sent her staggering away.

Han sprang up to grab her. He was taking his life in his hands, but he knew Leia would never forgive herself if she killed Tahiri over a stupid comment and a couple of bad choices. He wrapped his arms around Leia's shoulders and pulled her back - then felt the air leave his chest and his feet leave the floor as she instinctively slammed an elbow into his ribs and started to throw him.

"Whoa.... Leia!" he groaned. "It's me."

He felt the tension leave her body and his feet return to the floor, then Tahiri started to advance, her haggard eyes filled with malice and anger.

"Don't do it!" Han ordered. He pulled Leia aside and, when she deactivated her lightsaber, stepped between her and Tahiri. "Don't you dare."

Tahiri stopped two paces away, her lightsaber still ignited, glancing from Leia to Han and looking like a sabacc player trying to decide whether to fold or raise."You think this is what Anakin would want?" Han prompted. "His mother and his girlfriend trying to kill each other?"

"I certainly don't," a female voice said, coming up behind Han-and speaking over the drone of her own lightsaber. "And I won't have it in my hangar."

The anger in Tahiri's face quickly changed to embarrassment. She deactivated her blade and bowed, holding herself parallel to the floor. "I apologize, Your Majesty. I didn't believe they would resist."

Leia's final rematch with Alema Rar, where the former is initially blindsided and then forced to stop Waroo from intervening. Afterwards, despite fighting only defensively, Leia deflects all of Alema's attacks until the latter tires and decides to flee the duel. It later turns out that this Alema Rar was, in actuality, a Force Phantom projected by the real Alema:

Leia forced herself to keep her voice low and calm. "Finally invested in some prosthetics, did you?" And some vanity surgery to rid yourself of facial lines, sags, scars. . .

"Nothing so crude. We are simply ageless and eternal now, as we have always deserved to be." Alema lifted her lightsaber in a traditional salute, a come-fight-me gesture.

The Falcon stood on her tail again. Leia, caught off-guard, hurtled toward the rear of the engineering bay-right past Alema, who didn't budge.

Leia spun her lightsaber in a defensive arc, an attempt to block the blow she knew must come, but it didn't. Alema merely danced aside. Leia crashed into the stern bulkhead, an impact that sent waves of shock through her back muscles, shoulder blades, spine. . .

For a brief second she was helpless, bent with pain. But Alema didn't whip out her blowgun to send a dart her way-she didn't even essay a lightning-quick leap followed by a maiming slash with her weapon. She advanced slowly, walking carefully down the ceiling toward Leia.

Recovering, Leia reached out, a flailing motion that sent a wash of Force energy toward her enemy. Alema merely rocked back on her heels and looked faintly amused. "Growing weaker? Perhaps it is the infirmity of age."

There was a dull rattling noise and Waroo, spinning like a child's toy, hurtled down at Leia from the main corridor.

Leia twisted aside and exerted herself upward through the Force, slowing Waroo's fall. The Wookiee crashed into the bulkhead beside her, but softly, not hard enough to impair a being of his size and strength.

Alema's smile broadened. In a movement that was curiously clumsy and unpracticed, she raised her lightsaber and charged to swing it down at Waroo.

Leia raised her own blade, catching Alema's seemingly unpracticed attack; their blades met, sizzled, sparked. Waroo rolled away from the two of them and sat up, swinging his bowcaster off his back and aiming it at Alema. The weapon, built tough to Wookiee standards, did not seem to be damaged.

"No!" Leia lashed out with her foot as Waroo fired. She connected first, kicking Alema backward, and angled her own lightsaber to catch the bowcaster bolt; it sizzled out of existence against the blade.

Puzzled, Waroo offered an offended growl. He rose to his feet and hastily recocked his bowcaster. Leia got her feet under her and leapt toward Alema, positioning herself between the Twi'lek and the Wookiee. She caught Alema's next strike, this one as suitably swift and ferocious as any Jedi's, before it could sever her right arm, but she did not press her attack. "Waroo, don't shoot. There's something wrong. Trust me."

Waroo offered a little grumble of complaint. He aimed but did not fire.

Leia strained against Alema's blade, panting from pain and exertion. Their blades sparked and sizzled as they pressed against each other, slid along each other's lengths.

Alema tried to disengage and strike, but Leia simply followed her step for step, staying close, fighting purely defensively. Alema struck a second time and a third, all shots toward one of Leia's limbs, but Leia blocked two of the blows, dodged the third.

Alema's smile did not fade, but after another moment her strength seemed to. She sagged back as Leia continued to push. "Fine." Her tone was light, but there was a forced, brittle quality to it. "We will meet later."

She leapt up and backward, landing on the main corridor wall above, her motion so light and graceful that it seemed she could not possibly be affected by the Falcon's constant upward acceleration. Then she turned and ran toward the hatchways to the circuitry bay and crew quarters.

Leia and Waroo leapt after her, an effort for both Jedi and Wookiee. But, though Alema had been out of sight for only a few moments, though she could not have made it as far as either hatchway, she was gone.

Leia outduels and decapitates Querdan Dei by exploiting a mistake he made with relevance to his missing eye, displaying tactical ability. She also displays tactical ability by kicking sand into Dei's face:

"Care to surrender?"

"No."

"Good." She came at him.

Dei took her first attack, blocking with both skill and sheer strength, a defense meant to look contemptuous, meant to intimidate.

Leia was not intimidated. She retreated a step before he could shove her away, disengaged, kicked. His blade swept through the air where her leg should have ended up, but she hadn't followed through. Sand propelled by her foot spattered against his face - the right side of his face. He grinned. Hers had been a viable tactic, countered by damage he'd already sustained.

Then it was on, a full-speed duel to the death.

Relaxing into the Force, into instinct and muscle memory and training, Dei decided that the moment was one of perfect complementarity. His hot anger against her cool restraint. Male and female. Sith and Jedi. Glowing red against glowing blue. Strength against suppleness. He felt a thrill of delight at the beauty of it.

Telekinesis

Telekinesis is a basic, neutral Force power enabling Force-sensitives to manipulate their surroundings (often objects or individuals) via the Force.

With minimal training in the ways of the Force, Leia hurls the reborn Emperor Palpatine backwards:

No Caption Provided

With minimal training, Leia is able to alter her directional course when she is thrown by Streen's winds, causing her to slide to the floor instead of being smashed into a stone wall:

The cyclone struck Luke, buffeted his body, and lifted it into the air. Leia ran toward her paralyzed brother, feet barely touching the ground as powerful winds knocked her sideways. The storm wrenched her off balance, and she found herself thrown through the air, flying like an insect toward the stone walls. She spun around and reached out, calming herself enough to use her own abilities with the Force, to nudge her body away. Instead of being crushed against the stone blocks, she slid softly to the floor.

Leia swept her arm in their direction, using the Force to jerk both guards forward. She slammed them into the blast door, then dropped them across the threshold so the cell block could not be sealed off without crushing them.

The older man, a grizzled human sergeant, snapped the comlink out of his sleeve pocket. His companion, a Duros with smooth blue skin and red eyes bulging in alarm, made the mistake of reaching for his blaster.

Leia reached out with the Force and slammed his head into the wall, then summoned the blaster from his open holster. By the time she got the muzzle pointed in the sergeant's direction, he was raising the comlink to his lips.

Leia uses the Force to create a loud creak, possibly by using telekinesis to hit something, and then grabs a clawcraft (which is 7.65 meters in length) and swings it back and forth via telekinesis:

Leia signaled the others to be ready, then used the Force to create a loud creak in the storage gantries directly above the security platoon. The troops immediately looked up, already suspicious enough to raise their charric rifles.

Leia Force-grabbed a clawcraft hanging over their heads and began to swing it back and forth. The troops immediately began to back away from the Falcon-until their female officer started barking commands at them. In the next moment the officer was sliding across the deck with her arms flailing, still screeching orders in a panicked voice and gesturing at the gantries.

Leia holds the Millennium Falcon's drive assembly together with telekinesis (albeit with strain) in order to prevent it from expanding to tear the ship apart, and with the help of Jacen and Jaina, manages to both compress the drive assembly and land the ship:

He visualized the Millennium Falcon. In his mind, he could see the plates of her underside and the transparisteel of the cockpit mounted on the starboard flank. He saw her as she should have been, whole and sound. He could feel Leia straining to use Force telekinesis, but he couldn’t sense exactly where she was trying to apply it. He could only hear the tension in her voice and taste her growing anxiety.

And he could feel another presence, too: his sister, Jaina.

They hardly spoke these days, but twins could never cut themselves off from each other for long. She must have sensed their parents’ crisis, too.

Whatever his mother was trying to do, Jacen could only guess. And guessing wasn’t good enough when one was using the physical might of the Force.

Still in his Theran sound trance, he heard the bip-bip-bip of a sensor alarm, the kind that announced that a hull had been breached-or worse.

" . . . drive’s shaking loose and it’s going to take the plates with it . . ."

That was what he needed to know. He was certain now that his mother was using the Force to stop the cracks in the drive housing from spreading and ripping the Falcon apart as the ship reentered the atmosphere. It was a massive task. She needed help.

Jacen filled his lungs with a long, slow breath and centered himself to try something he had never attempted before.

Mom, I hope you can handle this.

He pictured Leia sitting in the copilot’s seat. Her emotions and her presence in the Force washed over him and he visualized himself in her place, behind her eyes, seeing what she saw. For a moment he was simply observing; but then a feeling like a sigh drained out of him and it was as if he were exhaling an infinite breath into his mother - no, through his mother. Now he was no longer sitting in the alcove between two topiary bushes, but staring at an array of lights and readouts and at hands that weren’t his. Beyond the console, Coruscant loomed in the viewport.

If Jaina had joined the effort, she was hardly detectable. He had drowned out her presence in his own mind with the sheer strength of the telekinesis he was projecting.

Take this, Mom. Use me. Use the Force I’m channeling through you.

He heard her say "Uh!" as if something had startled her. Then he could feel pressure in his lungs as if he were running hard and fighting for breath. He had no idea how long it lasted. But he had the sense of clutching something tight to his chest, and an awareness somewhere outside his mind and yet at its core showed him the Falcon enveloped in the Force, the hull around her drive assembly compressed instead of expanding catastrophically.

He was sure he wasn’t seeing what his mother was actually looking at, because he had none of the images of entering the atmosphere or landing. The scenes inside the Falcon’s cockpit were being supplied by his memory. He was simultaneously aware both of that rational fact and that his Force power was being funneled through his mother, helping her hold the drive assembly in place by telekinesis.

Then relief swept over him like a wave, making his scalp tingle and his heart pound. The Falcon was down safely. He knew it. Now he could open his eyes. When he did, he was almost surprised to find himself still in the grounds of the Temple in broad daylight.

He shot through the traffic lane below in a streak of white flame, causing several booming crashes as startled freighter pilots slammed their vehicles into one another and the surrounding buildings.

Leia sends a Mandalorian somersaulting over an edge via telekinesis:

Still only halfway back across the bridge, Leia reached out in the Force toward the same commando. As his head rocked back, she gave it a powerful tug and sent him somersaulting over the safety rail. The Mando's jetpack ignited almost instantly, but that merely sent him into a second-long spiral, which ended in a crimson plume as he crashed through the bed of a passing hoversled.

She jerks a blaster rifle:

Shaking her head at Han's defiance in the face of death - and loving him for it - Leia reached out in the Force and jerked the blaster rifle aside, though not quickly enough to tell whether the red spray that erupted beneath the muzzle was Han's blood or the balcony's molten durasteel.

Leia sends two of her attackers flying, then hurls a table:

At that same instant, Leia shoved her left hand forward. Two of their attackers went flying. She raised her right hand, and the melted metal table rose. As hard as she could, Leia Force-hurled the table toward the center cluster of those firing upon them.

The table crashed down and the rain of blasterfire paused.

Force Blast

Force Blasts are blasts of raw Force energy, often with highly destructive effects.

While under the influence of a Monolith (possibly the Mortis Monolith), Leia is able to unleash a wave of Force energy so great that it manifests as a yellow torrent of flame, disintegrating one of the Qreph brothers (while Luke disintegrates the other). It is worth noting that while Leia and Luke's powers were enhanced by the Monolith, the Qreph brothers also gained Force powers as a result of the Monolith:

And then Leia was leaping in behind the Columi, one hand holding her lightsaber and the other hitting Craitheus with a wave of energy so fierce it became a yellow torrent of flame. Marvid stumbled away from his brother in shock, giving Luke the half second he needed to turn his palm forward and loose his own blast of golden energy.

Marvid swung his hand over to block, and the two streams of opposing energy met. The Columi’s flesh melted into smoke and his bones dissolved into ashes, and Luke glimpsed a shadow tumbling away on the shock wave.

Sense/Precognition/Clairvoyance/Telepathy/Empathy

Force Sense is a basic power allowing Force sensitives to sense their surroundings via a sixth sense of sorts. A broader, passive iteration of that power also affords a Jedi passive precognition and clairvoyance. Telepathy is the power to sense, communicate and manipulate thoughts, whereas Empathy is the power to sense, communicate and manipulate emotions. While the former three and latter two are not necessarily related, a number of Leia's feats are related to all of them, hence why I placed all these feats under one section.

Only shortly after learning of her Force-sensitivity and having no training whatsoever, Leia is able to sense Luke's survival of the second Death Star's destruction:

His expression betraying his concern, Han turned to Leia and said, "I'm sure Luke wasn't on that thing when it blew."

Leia looked away from the explosion and smiled. "He wasn't. I can feel it."

With rudimentary training in the Force, Leia is able to sense Luke's fall to the dark side and Palpatine's evil laughter:

Leia is able to sense Luke's presence nearby, that his mind is imprisoned, and is then able to recognize that he had lost to Palpatine, partially falling to the dark side:

"Luke... why can I feel you so near? Your mind... imprisoned. You have played the Emperor's game... and lost."

On boarding the Eclipse, Leia senses an oppression like none other (Palpatine in particular):

"Disembarking inside the colossal warship, Leia senses an oppression unlike anything she's felt before. There is no glimmer of hope in this ship... only the dark side of the Force... more powerful than ever."

Leia frees Luke from the Emperor's telepathic dominion:

WHISPERS: (the voice of the Emperor) Nothing....you are nothing......

LUKE: (echoing whisper) Where am I?

WHISPERS: Alone.

LUKE: (echoing whisper) No.....help me......

WHISPERS: There is no one. There is only the Dark Side.

LUKE: I...am....a Jedi.....(moans in pain)

WHISPERS: You are NOT a Jedi. You are nothing. You have no name.

LUKE: My name......is......Skywalker......(cries out in near-silent agony)

WHISPERS: You.....have......NO.....name!!!

LUKE: I.......

WHISPERS: Accept the Dark Side. You have no name.

LUKE: (losing to despair) I.....have.....no.....name.......

WHISPERS: You serve the Dark Side.

LUKE: I sss.....

WHISPERS: Listen to the voices.

LUKE: The voices......

WHISPERS: .....of the Dark Side.

LUKE: (dark voice again) Yes.

WHISPERS: The one law is fear. The one fear is power. The one power is hate.

LUKE: Hate......

LEIA: (echoing, as if from a far distance) Luke......

WHISPERS: Hate....

LEIA: (using the Force to "amplify" her voice) Luke.....clear your mind.......

LUKE: Leia.....?

WHISPERS: The one law is fear.....the one fear is power.....the one---

LEIA: Luke, I'm your sister. I NEED you.

LUKE: My sister......

WHISPERS: You are alone.

LEIA: Luke, listen to my voice. My child....will be a very great Jedi. Because YOU will train him. You will train ALL my children in the ways of the Force.

Sound: The whispers seem to be losing power....

WHISPERS: Do not listen!!

LUKE: Leia.....the Force......I am not alone!!! I AM NEVER ALONE!!!!!

Sound: The whispers suddenly STOP.

EMPEROR: (shocked) NO!! This can't be!! NO ONE returns from the Dark Side!! You're mine....

Leia is able to sense the Emperor's presence (and his intentions), despite the fact that the Millennium Falcon sensors are blinded and visually, there is nothing to be seen. Even Palpatine himself comments on Leia's power:

"What was that?"

"What was what?"

"Don't you feel it? He is near... I feel his dark side power."

"What do you mean who? There aren't any ships around here."

"Your highness, the sensors aren't picking up anything -"

"The Emperor is here. He wants us... he wants our children!"

...

"Yes... yes! Excellent! She is strong to have sensed my presence, but still they are blind!"

Leia sows confusion in the primitive minds of a group of beasts, despite her minimal training in the Force:

No Caption Provided

Leia trains her telepathic defenses with Luke. Both take turns probing each other's minds and repelling each other's influences:

Luke let his eyes fall half-closed, then sent faint tendrils of thoughts into her mind, deftly touching the topography of her memory. Atfirst she didn't react, but then he could feel her concentrating, building an invisible wall around his probe. Though slow, she succeeded in blocking him off. "Good, now I'm going to try different places." He moved his touch to a different center. "Resist me if you can."

As he kept probing deeper, Leia became better at fending him off. She parried his attempts with greater speed and stronger force as he guided her to put up barriers. He grew more pleased as he worked with her, touching random spots in her mind, trying to take her by surprise. He could feel her own delight with her improving abilities.

Luke reached to the back of her mind, an area of deep primal memories but little conscious thought. He doubted he could get any defensive reaction there, but no attacker would be likely to strike at such places. Her thoughts were like a map laid out in front of him, and Luke touched inward to an isolated nub in her mind. He pushed--

And suddenly felt as if a giant invisible palm had planted itself on his chest and shoved backward. Luke stumbled to keep his balance, taking two steps away from her. Leia's eyes went wide, and her mouth dropped open in surprise.

Luke said, "What did you do?" in the same moment Leia said, "What did I do?"; then both answered, "I don't know!" simultaneously.

Luke tried to reconstruct what he had done. "Let me try that again. Just relax."

She seemed anything but relaxed as he probed her again, reaching to the back of her mind, finding the isolated nub among her instinctive centers. Touching it, he found himself knocked away again with physical force.

"But I didn't do anything!" Leia insisted.

Luke allowed himself to smile. "Your reflexes did, Leia. When a medical droid taps your knee, your leg jerks whether you want it to or not. We may have just stumbled upon something a potential Jedi has that others don't. I want you to try it on me. Here, close your eyes and I'll give you an image of what I did to you."

"Do you think I'll be able to?" Leia asked.

"If it truly is instinctive, all you need to do is find the right spot."

"I'll try." Her face wore a skeptical expression.

"Do, or do not. There is no try. That's what Yoda always said."

"Oh, stop quoting him. You don't need to impress me!"

Leia touched her brother's temples, and he took a deep breath, using Jedi relaxation techniques to drop his guard. He had erected so much mental armor in the past seven years that he hoped he could still let her inside. He felt the touch of her thoughts, delicate mental fingers tracing the contours of his brain. He directed her search toward the back, where primitive thoughts slept. "Can you-“ Before he could finish his question, Leia stumbled backward into the self-conforming seat. "Wow! I found the nub, but when I touched it, you knocked me off my feet."

Luke felt wonder tingle through him. "And it was completely unconscious on my part. I wasn't aware of doing anything." Luke touched his lips as new thoughts raced through his mind. "I need to try this on other people. If it's completely a reflex reaction, this could be a very useful test for finding people who have latent Jedi powers."

Despite being heavily drugged and only marginally trained in the Force, Leia is able to prevent herself from being hypnotized by Beldorion:

He rumbled deep in his belly, and she felt the touch of his mind on hers. Faint and weak, but there, subtly drawing at her will. She felt herself in danger of becoming hypnotized by those scarlet orbs and looked away. With that much sweetblossom in her system it was difficult not to submit her mind to his dominance.

"Ashgad, now... he's made himself the champion of these Newcomers, but what is that? When I ruled Hweg Shul, all the people came to me with their problems, that I could render judgment. And my judgments were just to all, you know." The red eyes caught hers again, held them. "I was the better ruler-the stronger as well."

It was an effort to look away. "I'm sure you were."

He chuckled again, and slithered one tiny yellow hand around among the satin cushions, almost absentmindedly plucking forth a droch nearly the size of the tip of Leia's finger, which he popped into his mouth and cracked absently with his tongue. "He couldn't have taken over from me if I hadn't been tired. That's all it was. All that fighting with that Taselda woman. It wore me out. Now taste this, little one."

He extended his hand, and across the room a beaten-silver plate stirred where it lay on the sideboard of blackwood and crystal, then lifted and floated across to them. It had almost reached them when it tipped in midair and fell. Even dazed with the effects of the blossom, Leia's reflexes were quick enough to let her dive from the pillows and catch it. It contained roulades of some sort surrounding a bed of what smelled like petroleum by-products, topped with a weird blue thing like an enormous berry. In a lifetime of diplomatic banquets-admittedly brief-Leia had never seen the like.

"Who was Taselda?" she asked, handing him the plate.

"A former colleague." He plucked the berry from the top of the dish.

"She and I came to this world together-oh, many years ago. But she grew jealous of the reverence in which the local population held me and of my greater skills-she couldn't even manufacture the, ah, basic tools of our order. She did everything in her power to discredit me.

Pinpricks, mostly, but annoying just the same. Henchmen trying to break into my palace, that sort of thing. Even after I came to live with Ashgad. Now, my dear, tell me if this is not the most exquisite taste in the galaxy."

Leia picked up the fruit knife and fork from the small table nearby, cut a section from the berry, and watched as Beldorion slurped down the rest with Rabelaisian enthusiasm before she ate her own fragment.

She wished at once that she'd taken a larger hunk, because it was delicious, both sweet and meaty, juicy and subtly chambered."

Zubindi used to grow them three times this size," Beldorion said with a sigh. "And of a flavor to make this seem a cast husk by comparison.

Would you believe it, childs. It's a common Rodian kelp gnat, raised on growth enzymes and kept alive and growing for a year instead of the day of its natural life span. Zubindi could keep them going for five years, turn them into a whole different life form! They'd sing and whistle and move around on little tentacles they developed toward the end of that last year of life. Heaven knows what they would have been, had he been able to prolong them further! And the way he could torture britteths! Britteth flesh, as you must know, improves with the enzymes secreted when they die in pain... ah! Sometimes I think I shall never get over his death."

He groped in his brandy bowl for another prabkro, and shed a sentimental tear. Leia tactfully took a tiny bite of one of the roulades.

Kubaz chefs were famous through the galaxy for injecting insect life forms with growth enzymes and gene-splicing them in quest of never and more perfect designer foodstuffs, so it was anyone's bet what these actually contained.

"What brought you here in the first place," asked Leia.

He shook his great head, narrow eyes like cabochon jewels peeking out at her from beneath heavy lids. "I think you know," he said, and his great voice sank to a basso murmur, like the mutter that presages typhoon winds. His long, purplish tongue slopped around the edges of his mouth, questing for stray droplets of juice, then vanished within.

"I think you've felt it-that light. That ocean of brightness that fills the universe; that fills each of our Order with light.

Travelers' tales-old log books. They said it was here. But you know that."

His eyes held hers again, inescapable. "Now a young lady of your-particular-talents might find herself needing allies in a situation like this. Ashgad can't be trusted, you know, little one.

And he was never that good a ruler." He held out one small gold-ringed hand, and Leia found herself unable to pull away.

From the doorway a deep, very quiet voice said, "At least he never sold one of his slaves to Dzym."

Beldorion swung around, hissing; Leia sprang back and pulled her gaze away. Liegeus stood in the doorway, graying hair hanging down in his eyes, broken out of his fear, thought Leia, by anger. For a moment he only stood there, looking at the two of them, then he stepped lightly down and crossed to the dais.

Leia is able to predict where Beldorion would strike before he does so, allowing her to launch a preemptive counterattack:

Like a huge serpent he struck, and she raised her blade to defend, her mind open with the Force, feeling before he did so that he was going to switch to lateral again. He did, and she was in under the blow and slashing a long, streaming, sidelong cut that went through the soft green body like burning wire.

Leia senses everything in a forest, from tiny bloodbats to packs of Ewok-sized spiders, and senses that all of them are waiting for a chance to attack:

The strength of the living Force in the jungle overwhelmed Leia's physical senses. Her ears hummed with its energy, her skin prickled beneath its warm pressure, even her vision had begun to cast the rain in a soft green glow. She found herself perceiving with her spirit rather than with her body, becoming a part of the jungle rather than a visitor to it.

Saba was reacting a little differently. She was creeping along the vine-swaddled mogo branches with all the stealth of a hungry rapard, barely stirring the thick foliage except when she suddenly fell on some hissing rodent or popped out of hiding to snatch a passing buzzbird.

Leia might have been bothered by the trail of death that her Master's predatory instinct was laying behind them had she not felt like half the jungle was trying to eat her. Through the Force, she could sense everything from tiny bloodbats to packs of Ewok-sized spiders-all of them on the hunt, stalking her through the canopy, watching and waiting for an opportunity to attack.

Leia senses a snake-bird's descent upon her, then speedblitzes it and continues to sense danger:

On the way down, a cold shiver of danger sense raced along Leia's spine, and she felt something hungry descending on her from above. The hiss of air rushing over wing scales began to rise behind her, and she rolled into a Force flip and ignited her lightsaber, bringing the blade up through the body of something huge, green, and musty smelling.

The snake-bird fell away in two pieces. Then Leia sensed her target branch coming up behind her - fast. She reached out to it in the Force and drew herself over to it, landing backward in the wet moss and nearly slipping off the branch.

Leia's danger sense continued to ripple.

Leia senses Alema Rar's presence despite the latter concealing herself with the Force:

She could hear a large river purling through the jungle somewhere far below, but she had no sense of where this new predator was hiding. She turned in a slow circle. When she saw nothing but clouds of emerald foliage, she reached out in the Force, but she felt only the same hunters as before. This danger was something different-something that could hide itself in the Force.

Leia stilled herself and began to search for an empty place in the gauzy fog of the living Force on Tenupe. It did not take long to find. There was an odd calm where her branch connected to the mogo's trunk, hidden behind a green curtain of strangle-vines. Still holding her lightsaber in one hand, she drew her blaster and began to fire into the vines. The snap-hiss of an igniting lightsaber sounded from inside the mass of vines, then a blade so blue it was almost black sliced through the foliage and began to bat Leia's bolts aide. The tangle of vines quickly fell away, revealing a blue-skinned Twi'lek female with an amputated head-tail and one withered arm hanging useless beneath a sagging shoulder. She wore a StealthX flight suit two sizes too small for her slender figure, her front zipper open down to the navel.

Leia stopped firing and touched Saba through their battle-meld, trying to let her knew she had found something as important as the bombs. "Alema Rar. I should have known you'd crawl out of a hole around here somewhere."

"No," Lando continued, "what we’re actually doing is something else. Something vital to the Alliance’s war effort."

"Vital."

"So we have to get to Corellia."

"So we have to get to Corellia."

"Well, you obviously have to get to Corellia, then."Lando shrugged. "But how?"

The lieutenant thought about it. "Well, it’s a pity you don’t have any of the access codes provided by Intelligence. That would allow you to fly right in."

"Oh, that would be handy." Lando fixed the lieutenant with what he hoped was an honest look. "Do you have a lot of those recorded on your shuttle, son?"

The lieutenant laughed. "I can’t tell you, sir."

"Of course you can," Leia said.

"Of course I do."

"Why don’t you just give us one, then?"

"Why don’t you just give us one, then?"

The lieutenant nodded. "That would solve everyone’s problem, wouldn’t it?"

Lando smiled. "It sure would."

The lieutenant rose. "I can’t just transmit that sort of information. I’ll go download it from our bridge computer and give you a datachip. How does that sound?"

"Sounds wonderful."

"I’ll be right back."

When he was gone, Lando looked at Leia. "That wasn’t really fair, was it?"

She shook her head, smiling. "He was even more weakminded than I’m used to. I don’t think he’s going to progress far in the service. But I still prefer this sort of thing to cutting people’s arms off."

Leia feels her son Jacen Solo's death:

Han set the Falcon down, then unbuckled and turned to Leia. Her eyes were already fixed out the forward viewport, focused somewhere beyond, and she had The Look. Han's heart dropped-his entire being dropped. He had seen that look only twice before, once when Anakin had died and once when she had thought Luke was dead, and he had spent every minute of Jaina's hunt terrified that he was going to see it again. And he didn't know if they could stand it-if even he and Leia were strong enough to handle the loss of their last child.

Unable to sit still, and unable to bring himself to ask Leia, Han turned to his missile control panel and began to enter a new set of specifications.

"Threepio, go load the baradium missile."

"The baradium missile, Captain Solo?" C-3PO asked from the navigator's station behind him. "I don't believe Master Skywalker's plan calls for a baradium missile."

"It doesn't," Han said. "You heard Tenel Ka's announcement. They killed Allana. If Jaina is gone, too, nobody who was a part of it is leaving this:"

Han felt Leia's hand on his arm and let his sentence trail off, but he didn't look over. He was just too afraid.

"Han, we need to hurry." A click sounded from the copilot's seat as she unbuckled her crash webbing. "Jaina's still alive."

Han's throat tightened. "Still?"

He didn't know whether to let his breath out or hold it until his heart started to beat again, but he rose to leave-and that was when he saw that Leia still had The Look.

"Leia?" he asked. "What-"

"It's Jacen." Her voice cracked, and her hand slid down his arm to grab his. "Jaina got him."

Force Harmony is a light-sided power where multiple Force users can join their Force energies together for powerful but non-violent effects. Often, the manifestation of these light-sided energies can protect oneself or another from dark sided powers, or cut Dark Siders off from the Dark Side of the Force entirely.

Leia uses Force Harmony in unison with Luke and Anakin to cut off Palpatine from the dark side, causing him to lose control of his Wormhole:

Battle Meditation

Battle Meditation is a Force ability which can considerably increase the morale and physical prowess of one's allies whilst simultaneously decreasing the same attributes of one's enemies.

Leia hurts Palpatine with Battle Meditation despite only just learning the power and having minimal training in the ways of the Force:

"The Emperor is here. He wants us... he wants our children!"

"Blast that scum! If I ever get him in my sights, he's rancor food!"

"I don't need a blaster. Not with what I've just learned with Jedi Battle Meditation."

***

"Yes... yes! Excellent! She is strong to have sensed my presence, but still they are blind!"

"My lord, the Millennium Falcon is headed right for us. They seem unaware of our presence, just as you predicted."

"Of course, it is. Through the dark side, I am blinding their sensors. The daughter of Vader feels my presence, but she does not know, she cannot... eh? What's this? Aaaahhhh......!"

"My lord - "

"Errngh! This Jedi... she's learned old Jedi tricks! Take the ship! Tractor beam on!"

Force Meld

Force Meld, or Jedi Meld or Battle Meld, is a powerful Jedi technique where Jedi can join their minds together. In Outbound Flight, it is revealed that a Jedi Master of great power and depth in the Force is required to successfully utilize it. Despite this, Leia was able to utilize it as well as any Jedi Master.

Leia reaches out to initiate a battle meld but discovers it is already open.

Leia reached out to initiate the Jedi battle-meld and discovered that Mara and the other pilots had already opened it.

Leia is able to detect satisfaction and the source of it, via the battle meld:

A sense of satisfaction came to the battle-meld; Mara and the other StealthX pilots had slipped in behind the XJ3s without being noticed.

Leia is able to sense that Saba Sebatyne is growing more and more concerned:

Leia sensed through the meld that the Barabel's concern had been more immediate: they were not going to be much use to Han and Luke if they got blasted to atoms here.

Leia is able to sense Saba's battle lust:

The meld began to fill with reptilian battle lust.

Leia reaches into the battle meld in order to urge Mara and the others to keep their fingers away from the triggers of their blasters:

She reached into the battle-meld, urging Mara and the others to keep their fingers away from their triggers, then took a deep breath and activated her microphone again.

Leia can sense Saba's irritation:

"This one is curiouz, not worried." Saba's tone was even, but her irritation was pouring into the battle-meld.

Saba initiates a combat meld, and Leia is able to open herself to it in order to sense that something is happening in the nebula and that Luke is reaching out to her:

"No." Saba touched Leia through the Force, initiating a combat-meld. "That will do no good."

"Saba, Luke reached out to me," Leia said. She opened herself to the meld, and an impression of vast openness appeared in her mind. "Something's happening in the nebula."

Leia is familiar with and can recognize a battle meld used during StealthX operations:

"You give us too much credit." Leia stretched her Force-awareness into the Choke and felt the familiar presence of a StealthX battle-meld.

Leia senses a grim calm through the Force meld and is able to understand what Jaina and Zekk are about to do:

High above Tenupe, Fell Defender was still shuddering from the Killiks' opening salvo when a grim calm came to the battle-meld, and Leia understood what Jaina and Zekk were about to do.

Leia and Saba are able to synchronize their movements through a battle meld, so that they can fight harmoniously without hindering one another:

Leia and Saba activated their lightsabers and began to weave an impenetrable shield of light, synchronizing their movements through the battle-meld so that one blade was always in position to block without interfering with the other.

Leia feels Jaina and Zekk through the Force meld, feeling their grimness and determination driven by Raynar's will, and their focus on destroying the defoliators. She feels Alema Rar in the same way:

Leia checked her targeting display and saw that the Falcon was about five kilometers above a pair of Chiss defoliators and closing rapidly. The defoliator escorts were badly out of position, bunched up in front of the two craft as they fired at unseen targets that Leia assumed to be Jaina and Zekk. She could feel them through the battle-meld, grim and determined, driven by Raynar's Will and still focused on destroying the defoliators. She could also feel Alema - close by and just as determined.

Alter Environment

Alter Environment is a Force power which allows a Force user to manipulate nature and their surroundings in varying ways.

Leia parts fog using the Force, even though she received limited training in the ways of the Force:

She focused her attention on the gray curtain ahead, and whorls of fog began to peel away from the center.

...

By the time they reached the fog bank, Leia had opened a long channel down the center-a very narrow channel, not much wider than the Falcon itself.

...

Han turned his gaze forward, and the fog parted again.

...

A blurry sliver of green murk appeared at the end of the fog channel that Leia was holding open. Her gaze remained dead ahead.

...

Han pushed the throttles forward and accelerated into the fog, then asked Leia, "Can you do that fog thing again?"

"Yes," Leia said. A low rumble reverberated through the Falcon as Meewalh and Cakhmaim unleashed the big laser cannons. "But why not climb out of here and fight where we can see?"

...

Leia turned her attention back to the fog, and soon the verdant finger of a vine-covered spire could be seen jutting up at the end of the channel.

Force-flash

Force-flash is a power that enables a Force user to disable cameras and recording devices, causing brief periods of static but often only alerting security to "minor malfunction".

Leia Force-flashes all the security cameras in the Fellowship Plaza, which prevents Corran Horn from identifying where she is:

When no one answered his question, Luke said, "Forget I asked. Where are they now?"

All eyes turned to Corran, who was monitoring the Temple security channels over an ear comm.

"We don't know, "he said. "They escaped into Fellowship Plaza, and Leia's been Force-flashing the security cams."

Leia disables a droid with the Force faster than it can finish say a word:

"Your cell door has malfunctioned." The droid planted its foot and began to bring up the heavy stun blaster in its right arm. "Return to your cell and remain-"

Leia flicked her finger at the EverAlert's head and used the Force to flip its primary circuit breaker. The switch lay hidden beneath its neck armor, but that was no hindrance to a Jedi.

"-staaaationaaaar..."

The droid's chin slumped against its chest, and the stun bolt it had been preparing ricocheted harmlessly off the floor.

Sound Mimicry

Sound Mimicry is a power enabling a Force user to generate (or "mimic") varying sounds even without the proper cause of the sound:

Leia projects a loud boom:

She pressed her ear to the door, then looked up toward the side wall of her cell, fixing her attention approximately over the last cell on the block, and used the Force to project a loud boom into the ceiling.

Source: Dark Nest III: The Swarm War

Leia uses the Force to project her voice above the uproar of large crowd of Wookiees:

Leia allowed the tumult to continue for a moment, then used the Force to project her voice over the uproar.

"I wasn't supposed to use the Force?" she asked, feigning ignorance. "Is it against the rules?"

Source: Legacy of the Force: Inferno

Leia augments her voice with the Force:

"Blast it," Leia murmured under her breath, then, more loudly, using the Force to augment her voice, she shouted, "Everyone remain calm! I'm certain it's just a glitch and will be remedied soon. We're in no danger."
