Baras is a powerful Sith Lord:

Deceptive spymaster, calculating diplomat, and a powerful Sith Lord aspiring to join the Dark Council, the manipulative Darth Baras has served many vital roles in the Empire.

After making his apprentice a lord, Baras reminds them of his superiority, claiming that where a lord is lethal, a Darth is the embodiment of death:

"There's no denying you are a master of the dark arts now. Only the most accomplished among us are named as lords among the Sith. You have more than earned the distinctions. I hereby confer the title of Sith Lord upon you. As lethal as you must be to become a lord, a Darth is the embodiment of death. Don't forget that."

Decades before the events of The Old Republic, Baras was already more powerful than Fulminiss, one of the greatest Sith Sorcerers in the Empire who was reputedly destroyed cities with his power. After this, Sel-Makor granted Baras even more power:

Widely regarded as one of the greatest Sith sorcerers in the Empire, the enigmatic Lord Fulminiss is a master of the dark side’s most arcane and lethal aspects. The grotesque Harrower assassins are his most famous creation, but legend has it he once summoned a raging storm of pure Force energy that disintegrated a rebellious city of natives in the Imperial-conquered Jabiim system.

Baras was briefly able to fool even the Dark Council (comprised of the wisest and most powerful Sith Lords) into believing that he was the true Emperor's Voice:

Dark Rage/Force Protection/Speed

Dark Rage is a Force power that allows a dark sider to increase his strength, speed, resiliency, and resolve. Force Protection is the passive (and sometimes active) enhancement of a Force sensitive's durability to varying superhuman degrees. Force Speed is the passive (and sometimes active) enhancement of a Force sensitive's speed to varying superhuman degrees.

Baras shrugs off being knifed in the back, proceeding to instantly kill his would-be assassin with Force Lightning:

Force Sense is a passive Force power which enables a Force user to feel physical, emotional and mental traits as well as events. Farsight or farseeing allows a Force user to gain vague impressions of events happening at other places or times.

Baras senses the death of Marka Ragnos' pet terentatek, becoming aware of its killer, the acolyte who would eventually become his apprentice:

"The beast of Marka Ragnos was a great source of dark energy here on Korriban. When it was slain, there was a tremor in the Force. Darth Baras felt that tremor and has become aware of you. He demands an audience."

Baras senses Jaesa Willsaam using her powers from across the galaxy, and the threat that this poses to his entire power base:

By merely concentrating for a moment, Baras is able to locate the precise location and even the coordinates of his missing lightsaber on Hoth, even though he was on Dromund Kaas:

Telekinesis

Telekinesis is the movement of objects and manipulation of reality through the power of the mind.

Baras hurls Master Dar'Nala back with a combination of telekinesis and Force Lightning:

Force Lightning

Force Lightning is a Force power which allows a dark sider to unleash electrical discharges from their fingertips, acting much like normal electricity but also having the property of weakening life.

After being knifed in the back, Baras proceeds to kill a Sith assassin instantly with Lightning:

Baras shocks Dar'Nala with Lightning and simultaneously hurls her backward with telekinesis:

Dark Side Healing

Dark Side Healing refers to a rare spectrum of dark side powers that allow one to restore wounds and mend flesh, often painfully.

Although the Wrath thought the Lord Draagh had burned to death, Baras salvaged Draagh's body and kept him alive long enough for his cybernetic reconstruction:

"Baras's favored apprentice. But I watched you burn to death."

"You watched me burn. That's all. Baras retrieved me. He made me whole again. Made me stronger."

Telepathy

Telepathy is the ability to communicate thoughts or affect the mind of another.

Baras enslaves the Entity, dominating her into using her powers of precognition and farseeing to aid his ascendancy to the Dark Council and to assist him in the elimination of his political enemies. The Entity is unable to resist:

Drain Knowledge

Drain Knowledge is a dark-sided telepathic ability which allows one to extract knowledge from another's mind against the latter's will.

Baras continuously leeches from the Entity's power, stealing all the visions she receives of the future. As a result, Baras sees everything that the Entity does, meaning that he was aware of the Wrath and Vowrawn striking down Lord Draagh and freeing the Entity:

"He feeds off this spirit's power, stealing all her visions of the future. Everything he has built has come from her insights."

This is particularly impressive because rebellious ghosts such as the Entity will attempt to poison and corrupt those who attempt to siphon their power, which the Entity was unable to do to Baras:
