Evil Deadpool = classic Deadpool? 0

The story: Some crazy chick fell in love with Deadpool, collected his body parts, eventually blew her own head off and the body parts that were on ice, thawed out and formed this new Deadpool which kind of reminds me of the original one.The good: I actually, kind of, liked this issue. Even though I hated the thought of having yet another version of Deadpool, especially one being simply 'evil' and I really disliked the way this all came to be. This issue itself was quite alright. It's not the bes...

Venom vs The Queen. Fight. 0

The story: With Spider-Island coming to an end, this issue is the actual start of the final battle against The Queen. Will Venom be able to carry out his mission and terminate the threat? How will the death of his father (previous issue) affect all of this? The good: As a tie-in this issue was really important, because this is the actual start of the final battle, where Venom 8 ends, ASM 672 picks off. The action in this book was amazingly well written and illustrated. The insertion of a fellow h...

Progress? Hell no! 3

The story Deadpool is still incarcerated in a prison psych ward, previously we saw how a doctor Whitby was very passionate while treating Deadpool, especially after he created a violent incident. After this Deadpool seems to lose interest in reality, but soon there's yet another violent outburst. People get their asses kicked, and Deadpool leaves the institution. But the doctor shows him way more than a professional interest. Insert new gimmick here.  The good I liked the intrigue of having Dead...

I smell a team-up! 0

First off: I'm pretty 'new' to reading Batman. I've been reading since RIP and thus I'm kind of used to see Dick as Batman ( and I like it ).  The story Without giving too much away: basically there's Mario Falcone, who seems to be currently running the underworld in Gotham City and is on the verge gaining even more power ( and money ). But Two-Face has returned also and is seemingly killed by his own wife in the previous issue. Than there's also another villain who's been pulling all the string...

Powers collide. 0

The story The Avengers are still being interviewed and this time the main topic is the Red Hulk and specifically his battle with the Worthy who used to be the Thing ( from the FF ). It seems that Red Hulk is the first to arrive after Thing levels Yancy Street. A fierce battle starts and Red Hulk seems to be able to hold his own, but after a while it becomes clear that this Red Hulk is no match for one of the Worthy.  The good I like that the story is still partially told in this interview fashio...

Grey Gargoyle: 2 - Tony: 0 0

First off: I've been following this Invincible Iron Man run since issue one. So keep in mind that I did not pick this up solely as a Fear Itself tie-in and I kind of do place this in the series as a whole as well.  The story Iron Man is still in Paris, waking up after his first encounter with one of the Worthy who used to be the Grey Gargoyle. There are people turned to stone and smashed apart all around him and Tony realizes that the number of casualties is incredible. The fight between him and...

Hulking out! 0

First of all, I love Deadpool. I've been in love with the character ever since I read the original Deadpool run by Joe Kelly. I also loved Cable & Deadpool. So yeah, call me a fanboy, I guess.  The story Deadpool continues his quest to utterly piss off the Hulk and make him smash Deadpool into oblivion, because Deadpool wants to be reunited with Death ( his true love ).   The good Daniel Way continues this story as he started it: action packed and several funny moments. Typical Deadpool ba...

Fear ill-writing? 0

First of all, I love Deadpool. I've been in love with the character ever since I read the original Deadpool run by Joe Kelly. I also loved Cable & Deadpool. So yeah, call me a fanboy, I guess. The story Fear Itself has the world panicking and hammers are falling down from the sky and .. well actually you really don't need to know all this stuff. Basically: Deadpool is installing high-end security systems to ward off super villains when Juggernaut ( as one of the Worthy ) crashes through th...

New York in the grip of Fear. 0

The story The Serpent has unleashed his Worthy upon the world and is spreading Fear. Spider-Man is trying to deal with crazed-by-this-fear New Yorkers while trying not to succumb to the fear himself. Meanwhile he's facing off with Vermin as well.  The good While the main series obviously has to keep things moving and has to shown signs of a world in panic, this series can show the fear that has gripped the world more clearly by focusing on New York. While there are no epic battles or such in thi...

Pleasant surprise 1

First off: I picked this one up mainly because I always wanted to read something with Namor in it ( other than a few X-books I've read ). The fact that this book also features the Defenders ( Doctor Strange, Lyra, Silver Surfer ) piqued my interest even more and because of it being a Fear Itself tie-in I simply couldn't resist. So I kind of went in this story without any expectations.  The story Attuma already is one of the Worthy when the story starts ( so you won't see the change itself happen...

Hulk grant wish 9

First of all, I love Deadpool. I've been in love with the character ever since I read the original Deadpool run by Joe Kelly. I also loved Cable & Deadpool. So yeah, call me a fanboy, I guess. The storyDeadpool decides (yet again) that he wants to die. But if you have a kick-ass healing factor, dying isn't exactly easy. Enter: the Hulk. The goodThe story itself is entertaining, full of action and surely has its funny moments. The battle tactics are pretty much what you'd expect from Deadpool. ...

Spidey has definably hit the big time! 0

So I picked it up in the store today, and what can I say? It was freaking amazing. The artwork didn’t disappoint at all, even though I had some very high expectations.   Of course a comic isn’t built on artwork alone, Dan Slott’s writing is equally amazing as Ramos’ art. He manages to not only bring forward an amazing presentation of Spider-Man, but also manages to write a story that presents several key characters in Spider-Man’s life to both the familiar and new users in a way that doesn...

Two mercs, an animal, an angel and one girl 0

The new X-Force team book is here and I was really looking forward to this ever since I read the Wolverine: Road to Hell prelude.  First off: One thing I keep on hearing is how many people don't like to see Deadpool in this book. I can agree with most of them that Deadpool is being over-exposed at this moment and that this seems like a gimmick. However, people should realize first that the Deadpool that Remender shows us here is totally different from the Deadpool in all his other cur...
