Yes I kind of get annoyed by people who claim themselves to be true Batman/Iron Man/whatever fans and geeks, but have never read comics. But it's just so common right now, since being a bit geeky is the new fashion style. I can't go a day without seeing someone wearing a comic book/star wars/... T-shirt who has never ever read a comic and/or never even seen Star Wars before. I think it's just plain stupid. To me it'd be like wearing a Nirvana T-shirt but never having listened to their songs before.

On the other side, sometimes a geek annoys me equally as much. People who for example (since this was the most recent one I encountered) consider themselves to be a true Deadpool fan, but only having read a few TPBs from the latest series.

Either way, I think this is something normal for people like us. We all love comic books and the characters we read about. A lot of us have put a lot of time and money in this hobby and it easily annoys the hell out of us when someone who hasn't had nearly as much experience as us with a character is suddenly claiming they're true fans, etc. It'd be kind of like if someone who has read a book on neuro-science starts claiming that he actually knows more about the subject than someone who's an actual neuro-surgeon.

I don't really know if that makes sense to anyone else... But yeah.

@ClintsEvilTwin: He kind of reminds me of Kang. But I have no clue.

@secondfallen616: Thanos is actually one of the reasons why Deadpool was/is invincible. Sure the healing factor's a big part, but as you said, a healing factor can only save you up to a certain amount of damage. Thanos actually cursed Deadpool so he could never die and thus never be with Death.

I remember this even happened once, way back, that Deadpool's body took so much damage that it couldn't heal itself. Deadpool effectively died for a short period, only to come back alive somewhere else.

Which makes one wonder, if Deadpool would kick the bucket now while his healing factor is negated, would he actually be able to die? Since Thanos' curse is still there, I'd asume he still won't be able to really die. At least not indefinitely.

God, I can't get over the fact that nearly everyone here seems to think Daniel Way's Deadpool is the most awesome ever.

Seriously, has anyone of you even read some Deadpool stuff from before Way? Cable & Deadpool by Fabian Nicieza or Deadpool (Classic) by Joe Kelly? Those were some awesome comics. It had the dark humor that made Deadpool well-known but it still was mainly a tragic story with a Deadpool-character that had some heart and knew character evolution.

I'm not saying Daniel Way's run was a total piece of crap. It had it's fun moments and a few decent story lines but it totally lacks heart and character evolution. Even Daniel Way himself seems to know this seeing as he references Deadpool losing his pinkey as some "lasting change to the character" or something.

Either way, I've been a Deadpool fan for a long time and I hate the fact that Daniel Way single-handedly made Deadpool into more of a clown that an actual "merc with a mouth"... Thus I'm actually a bit afraid that this trend will continue. I really hope the new writers actually have some story-telling in mind as well and not just one prank after another. But I don't have actual high hopes to be honest.

Seriously what 's up with all the Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe hate? I see a lot of people complaining that Deadpool isn't nice and is pretty violent here. Which is what he used to do before Daniel Way made him into a clown. I haven't had the chance to read it yet (since my local comic store forgot to order it), but I'm looking forward to a less-funny Deadpool and a more deadly one again.

I 'll never understand the Daniel Way love since I think 90% of Way's Deadpool is pretty crappy. Especially compared to other (older) stuff like Cable & Deadpool or Deadpool Classic by Joe Kelly. Now that was some funny stuff, but still seriously deadly as well.

@jake0814: That's just semantics and I asure you, I've read that issue since Invincible Iron Man is a steady series on my pull list. Not sure why you discussing semantics is relevant to this topic either. But anyway, to me, replacing something aged with something newer and better can be considered upgrading.

Crap. I'm not exactly Greg Land's biggest fan either. I'm guessing due to budget cuts for my comics and Land being on art duties Invincible Iron Man will unfortunately drop off my pull list. Too bad, loved the Fraction/Larocca run.

@Novemberx2: You're saying exactly the same thing what others said about The Avengers before it came out. People have been raving about Disney owning Marvel for way too long now. So far, Marvel's own movies have been hits, thus there is no reason (so far) to lead you to believe otherwise. You're still getting the same stories from Marvel as you were before they were backed by Disney, only now you're getting more (and better) movies, tv shows, etc. too.

If Disney goes all Mickey on Marvel and demands that Goofy appears in the next Fantastic Four incarnation, than you can complain. Hell, go burn a Mickey effigy or something. But right now, I see no reason to complain.

Really liking Blue Beetle so far. I sure hope this can keep away from being cancelled. But everyone tends to stick to the big names like Batman, Superman, etc. and forgets the smaller ones.
