These 2 seem interesting and I feel like there more trying to make a statement, but honestly who cares? If I wanted this I would read the newspaper and some philosophy journals not comics. Hopefully green team has Lex Luthor, or at least something to connect them o the DCU. It could be interesting to see how Bruce fits into this- since DC puts Batman into everything whenever they get a chance! But I won't hold my breathe because it would just make the dark knight look bad. *On a side note one could argue that from Marxist perspective Batman is a horrible hero (if a hero at all), but that's another debate entirely*

@OutlawRenegade:

I have to agree with you completely! Each of the books you mentioned sound amazing! and they've all been mentioned before.

However I gotta say I'm getting annoyed with Marvel for different reasons. In the Marvel Now! there are 6 Avengers series ( not including A+X and Young Avengers); 3 X-Men series and 2 X-Force series, for a total of 5 X-related series (again not counting A+X, Wolverine and the X-Men, or any spine-off solo series); and 2 Wolverine series (still not counting Wolverine and the X-Men- I mean I love the guy but does he need to be the title character in 3 series?)! Do we need the Avengers/ X name plastered over every comic marvel dishes out? It really sucks having some of my favorite characters broken apart from each other and scatter across different comics.

With that said Batman has 4 series in the new 52 and appears in JL and JLI regularly (and cameos any chance he gets). So no DC isn't better with this but is VERY annoying!

Thoughts on titles:|

SAVAGE HAWKMAN- I am a big fan of Tony S. Daniel, so it sucks to see his work getting shut down after 1-8... but then I was surprised Hawkman lasted this long after he left (I don't find Hawkman interesting enough to carry his own series)

TEAM 7- well, that was quick

FURY OF THE FIRESTORM- Can't say I followed ($) this but it always look interest esspecially with TT and JLI crossovers/cameos. now I kinda rege tit.

DEATHSTROKE- Jeez Jordan really got shut down right when he had total control over the character- not having to be contradicted by others [Deathstroke#0 vs Team7#0] :( (also just started writing T7). But now he's got Supergirl, I just hope it's the right fit.

RAVAGERS- good! It relied way to heavily on Teen Titans, both for its initial introduction and the subsequent cameos. I enjoyed some of the characters but overall it just felt like West Coast Titans. If I wanted that I would just read TT. But then I havn't like them since the Culling story arc...

SWORD OF SORCERY- It was nice seeing another female character get a lead, but honestly I had no idea who she was they just picked a character out of the blue. I'm surprised he canned to so soon though, but I don't know what the sales were.

* side note every thing remotely involving Deathstroke has been removed- his single title, his team title, his daughter's team title, and his crossover with Hawkman- ALL GONE :O

coincidence?

Good post! I can't wait for the variant covers edition! I am really getting sick of them, why does a comic need 3 variant covers? I get a special event or a #1 getting them, but Action Comics, Detective Comics, and many others are getting variants for every issue since the reboot it just makes them less special in my mind.

@arnoldoaad: Ok I think I get what you saying, thanks. Would you have approved of Capt.Atom's new series had it ripped off Watchmen BUT been written well (say by someone like Johns)?

Ya I did know he created Mongo, but I didn't know about him using Jason to save Superman! That was recently referenced in Red Hood and the Outlaws #14. Do you know what issue or story arc it happened???

@Twentyfive: Good point about static- he was a huge name and had his own cartoon show with JLU and Batman crossovers. They really dropped the ball with him.

@arnoldoaad: Yes they have potential but they'll never be DC's 'go-to' team, they will never be as big, even if their story is better. I'm just looking at it realistically casual comic readers and those who just watch the TV shows and the movie will think of the JL before the JLA.

@arnoldoaad: I think we'll just have to agree to disagree because we both have very different opinions on what rewriting, and 'rip-off' means to each of us.

Johns added enough to change large parts of the GL universe, Marz made it so only one ring (specially made by the guardians) could overcome yellow. Johns made it so they all could overcome yellow as long as they overcame fear- which changed nearly 40 years of the Green Lanterns mythos of not being able to affect yellow. His additions also change much of our perception of the Emerald Twilight story-Arc. Now you call it adding to older works, I see it as enough of a change to consider it rewriting (which I feel is different from a 'reboot' just to be clear) of older works. This is because when the original storyteller told it this is not what was intended, thus it has been rewritten into a new (and obviously better) story. But I do see your argument, these tales 'expand' on previous stories- your correct in that observation. DC did not want to through away years of continuity entirely. Our debate is really- at point do we stop saying something is an addition to a old story, and when do we say the author is rewriting? In the 'New52' DC is throwing out large sections of their continuity and merging other universes that they own. So again we'll have to agree to disagree, because I feel it is perfectly acceptable disregard character traits that are not working, and draw from other universes (ie- the Capt. Atom of the Watchmen Universe); however, you do not agree with this (which is your opinion and that's perfectly fine), and I think it is safe to say that you feel this is crossing a line.

So in your mind, when Johns draws from Moore's works on GL it is "expanding", but when Krul draw's from Moore's Watchmen it's a "rip-off". Is this because they're in different universes, because you feel the character's (Dr.Manhattan and Capt. Atom) are unrelated, or because one was well done and the other was garbage? [Just so I'm clear I don't mean any offense by this. I just want to understand the your reasoning behind your decision.]

I am NOT defending Krul writing or this series (it's bad), just talking about the notion that Capt.Atom is a rip-off of Dr.Manhattan. [To be honest I was surprised he got a series.]

PS-"Well technically Atrocious wasn't created by Moore, but he created The Five Inversions who foretell the Blackest Night, i don't remember if Atrocious is refer by name there but i do know is a concept made by Moore" Thanks for sharing, I didn't know that, that's really cool- made my day ;)'s
