Child's Play 3 at least still uses the franchise's villain.

@amonfire1776: Civilians aren't enemy combatants and they are the vast majority of the people who were tortured in the Black Site prison program. Just because the US didn't sign on to the Geneva Conventions doesn't make the war crimes that administration, not war crimes, it just means they can't be held accountable for them. They are still war crimes. Also, there were US Citizens held in those prisons which does violate the "cruel and unusual punishment" clause of the Constitution. Also, the US DID sign the UN Charter and which prohibits nations from offensively attacking nations that pose no threat to them. Not to mention how the PATRIOT Act was a direct violation of the 4th Amendment.

@scottyhawkeye: very true. Thank you for elaborating. I couldn't articulate his political maneuvers versus his public misdeeds such as corporate fraud and instigating riots.

It helps that I study political science and follow this stuff in addition to being a geek. I completely agree with your point about Trump, the guy's last act as President was to instigate an Insurrection because he lost the election. I highly recommend listening to The Ring of Fire and Democracy Now if you want to keep up with the ruckus.

@amonfire1776: The United States can't be the world's police force and simply say that we need to invade countries because we don't like the way they're governed. All overthrowing those regimes did was create more instability in the region and made matters worse, bombing those countries to oblivion didn't fix anything like the war criminals who ran that administration said it would. Not to mention the torture program that violated Geneva Conventions and the Constitution.

@frozen: This is a great demonstration for the United States that everyone is held accountable for their actions especially the rich and powerful who think they can manipulate others or above the law.

But, what Trump did is pretty minuscule to what many, many other rich and powerful people have done. It's clearly targeted based on political reasons. You just applaud it because you agree with the other side.

It's pretty minuscule in comparison to TRUMP'S many other crimes. Let's not pretend this is Trump's only crime. He like all the other criminals in the elite took advantage of our two-tier justice system to game the system to his advantage. He just overstepped his boundaries and now his dirty deeds have finally caught up to him.

I'm glad Trump's being indicted for a crime, I must say this is minor in comparison to his other crimes, and if convicted the maximum sentence he could get is four years in prison. He's done much worse than falsifying business records to hide the fact that he paid a pornstar to keep her mouth shut. The Saudi-Led Genocide he aided and abetted is far worse than this.

Trump getting criminal charges from paying prostitutes while Bush got away from killing a million in the middle east

Noam Chomsky said that if Geneva Conventions applied to US Presidents they'd all be in the Hague. I'd love to see Trump and Bush rot away together to tell you the truth because they're both repulsive human beings and war criminals.

@eredin12: The whole Soros thing smells of antisemitic,

That is nonsense pushed by radical left. I do not dislike Soros because he is Jewish, but because of his own actions. He does not control world or any such conspiracy nonsense of course, but he does found politicians and prosecutors who promote his own agenda, that much is undeniable. I am not even saying that he does not have right to do that, but let us not act like this is not politically motivated.

Except for the claims that Soros funds all of this have underlying antisemitic sentiments. You may not dislike Soros because he's Jewish and just unwittingly repeat what you hear about him on the right-wing media sphere because it reinforces confirmation bias about him. The people who work in right-wing media and the politicians who make him into a boogeyman single him out because he's Jewish. Whether it's Kevin McCarthy, Alex Jones, or Viktor Orbán, they all single him out because he's a Jew.

@sundown89: Soros is the boogeyman of the right. To them, George Soros funds everything they don't like because it's easy to invent conspiracy theories about a Jewish Billionaire than cope with reality. Yes, he's a campaign donor that doesn't make him the "puppet master" they claim he is. If these people actually cared about the outsized influence billionaires have on politics they'd support overturning Citizens United, Beloti, and Buckley V. Valeo. They don't do that because the Koch brothers, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, the NRA, Weapons Manufactures, etc. can't buy elections either if that were to happen. As the last decent president, we had said America is "an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or of electing the president." We owe that to the Supreme Court, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton/New Democrat Coalition, who are basically diet Republicans, for the continuation of 40-plus years of the failed Reaganomics experiment.
