Love this, thanks! Been meaning to take a look at this since you posted it.

To be honest, I've a habit of being a completionist. Not for the sake of thinking the collection will be worth something some day (it won't), but simply because I hate the feeling of an unfinished/incomplete series - it bothers me that I didn't finish Superman Unchained (I have issues #1-4).

As for trade waiting, I've learned my lesson with Omega Men (thankfully it's been uncancelled). When more series like that come along in the future, I won't wait until the first volume before buying. Generally though, I always prefer volumes - I'm far more likely to reread, whereas if I buy issue by issue I'd really only read it once.

About #2, I decided to take a look at some of Scott Snyder's work outside Batman, and I'm glad I did. Wytches is a fantastic read.

I'm definitely going to take your advice on diversifying my books. I bought Kurt Busiek's Marvels recently and loved it. While DC Comics will always be where I buy most of my books, I'm trying to branch out into Marvel and Image.

Anyway, thanks for the post!

Glad you liked it.

I know many have that problem. But consider that if you buy a book that isn't worth you money, you are keeping that book bad and you are depriving yourself from a better experience. Its the only way to make a statement. If you want to complete it, maybe tradewait on that.

Omega Men has thankfully made huge fuss. I prefer trades too, I am not a saying buy issues. BUT if you are willing to buy issues, buy from series that are worth it and aren't AAA sellers.

His The Wake is good too. He is a Horror writer and it shows.

Definitely check Busiek's Astro City then, you will love it. Marvel and DC all into one, good art and great writing.

I am currently buying fewer DC books than ever since I dropped the Superman titles and I am buying more Image books than ever. I think it is due to experience. Big two are just not fulfilling enough for an experienced reader.

I've been meaning to check out The Wake, it'll probably be one of my next buys! I'll have a look at Astro City too, I've heard good things about it.

Speaking of Superman titles, I'm really looking forward to the Lois and Clark series! Hopefully it's great - I liked what I saw from the preview.

About Omega Men, I'm going to check out if my LCBS has all the issues so far, and if they do I'll buy them and subscribe. Chances are 50-50 though, so if not I'll just get the first volume when it's out.

Seems nice...but why they had to re-insert Superman during the Darkseid's invasion? Convergence has happened way after that event.

If he was on this earth the whole time, where was he during the Doomed saga,or when Ulysses appeared or in the dozens of situations were his help might have been crucial? In my opinion DC should have put this Superman into our world and timeline right after the Convergenge event...and not before. I know that this isn't really important but they could have avoided this little misstep imo.

I feel the same, but I don't see it as being a major issue. They'll probably address that like they just did with Darkseid's attack.
