@saint_wildcard: The problem with The Crime Syndicate is, you'd basically have to get the same actors to play as their enemies, and then they'd be fighting themselves. Which is why it has a small chance of being a big thing :/
It's not going to work with that attitude. And if anyone can make it work, it's SNyder.
I'm not sure I see the problem, cross-over potential is nothing new - it's just been legitimized, I think that's a good thing.
I state several reasons why I don't like it, why it's gonna keep failing, the recent two big failures and it ruining the novelty of a shared universe even when they fall flat. And yes, it would be a good thing, had they actually succeeded more. It's all talk and no bite, and it just annoys me that I keep hearing about them.
@saintwildcard: I thought you were going for animation script writing so you could write a Superman cartoon?
Yeah, writing is currently what I'm going for as a major (pretty worthless degree right next to Art, but it's what I wanna do in life). Since Rebirth happened, I kinda lost some interest and started working on my own ideas that I've neglected. But if given a chance, I would try and pitch the idea but we're talking that might happen like 5-10 years for a chance to maybe get a meeting and then it's in their hand. Not to mention with this whole Rebirth thing, who knows how it would be received and it have to go through Johns (who I've come to hate since his Superman run, but may end up having to kiss his ass to get it made), since he now is Co President of DC. .
....
But if TLDR, yes I'd like to write a Superman cartoon if given a chance
I just wish they'd made a good movie without the need for all of this. Not saying your ideas aren't good Saint, just expected more from a worlds finest movie. Still, we don't get everything in life.
This is therapy for me and an outlet for my hatred of this movie. It's also meant to be the sort of last thing I do regarding the movie on CV. There may be a YouTube series in the future where I may do a series in which I may make a video out of this pitch.
@saintwildcard: Well that's the problem with having this fight this early, and JL is right behind it. Spoiler Alert(lol): No matter what we show we already know this is just so they can become mates. If it was up to me I would have never done BVS. It would have been MOS 2(with 15 mins of Bruce Wayne in it), then instead of SS the next movie would have been Batman(With a small Flash Cameo). He would have fought the Redhood, and chased after Joker & Harley. Then I still would go with WW, then of course still follow it up with JL. Honestly the DCEU isn't really structurally sound, and it probably never will be. But, I think it can become a very entertaining place for fans.
There's no doubt about how this movie came to be, which was rushing and partially I think Snyder really wanted to do Batman (Probably even more so considering he won't get to do Batman solos since he knew Affleck would get that job, so it's why BvS was Batman movie and so will JL) . So while Ideally it would have been better for them to do separate movies and build up to JL, I don't think the concept of BvS was all that bad, so much as horribly handled and lacked any natural world building but instead was crammed in via security cams by Lex in an awkward and lazy way.
@saintwildcard: You didn't specify Russia though, Russia would think he was an American agent, Russia would think Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber are undercover American agents if they toured Russia.
I kinda.... no, you're right. I should have been more clear, but in my mind I did when I wrote it since The Other country thing was followed in a different moment by the name calling. I guess this means you'd trust me if they ever gave me a chance to write Superman huh?...... right?
I think I may hurl any time soon give or take any more compliments your way. As for the least favourite moment, the bit about Superman being a government dog according to the public. But because it wouldn't make sense given that this Superman tends to act without government consent.
Well, it was in Russia. Some people he saves may call him a false prophet, but in Russia the propaganda they tell the people is not to trust him and that he's an agent of America. People all over the world fear him for different reasons. Either because they think he's an American weapon, a false messiah or an eventual Alien Invader. There's a whole moment in this with the Superman Council that is dedicated to the misconception of other countries calling him a weapon by America, which they use because they don't trust Superman. The council is quick to say that he's not working for them, but in a world of spies no one trusts anyone. There was a bit in the UC about how, he wants to fight that American stamp but even our Talk Show hosts think it's a futile effort
As much as we tend to differ our views, I have to concede that your alterations with Wonder Woman and Lex Luthor are genuinely quality changes that would have dramatically enhanced the short term and long term plot points in BvS compared to what actually was the case.
That must have hurt you to say, thank you. Lex is probably the one I'm most proud of. The scene with him warning the council is inspired by when in Swamp THing, he is hired for a minute to show them how to kill Swamp Thing. Now for something you may actually like, what was your least favorite or moment you hated from this?
