S_W_LeGenD blogsVAYLIN RESPECT THREAD - PART 2

WHO?

This blog is dedicated to Vaylin and her documented exploits. She is the daughter of Valkorion (formerly identified as Vitiate).

From the moment his daughter, Vaylin, was born, Valkorion felt her strong connection to the Force. As she grew up, the Immortal Emperor noticed similarities between them, which both pleased and frightened him, and he decided to keep a tight leash on his favorite child. Her father's control curbed her tendencies toward violence and anarchy, but beneath her upbeat and lighthearted exterior lurked a restless hunter, hungry and ambitious.

From (Star Wars: Knights of the Fallen Empire: Codex entry titled "Vaylin.")

Vaylin was immensely powerful in the ways of the Force and reckless to the extent that Valkorion sought to impose limits on her powers and mind.

Father - Valkorion

Mother - Senya Tirall

Brother - Thexan

Brother - Arcann

ANOTHER CHARACTER of much significance

The Outlander (who started a rebellion against The Eternal Empire encompassing numerous factions including the Jedi and Sith and became The Alliance Commander subsequently) feature heavily in contents of this blog.

Official portrayal of this character in updates provided by BioWare suggest a HUMAN MALE corresponding to the Jedi Knight background:

In-game portrayal of this character vary as per player choices and tastes nevertheless.

The Eternal Empire pushed the Jedi Order to de-centralize itself [a] and the legendary Jedi Knight of the time (alias Hero of Tython) became The Outlander at some point [b].

Revelation [a] below:

Based on the intelligence we’ve gathered, I believe the Jedi recognized the possibility of their order being destroyed by the Eternal Empire and chose to de-centralize themselves to better their chances of long-term survival.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Jedi Under Siege: State of the Galaxy)

Revelation [b] below:

But the immortal Emperor could not be vanquished so easily. He evaded death by infiltrating the mind of the Outlander, his most powerful opponent.

1. GAINS and LOSSES through the ages

Technological and/or Societal advances in Star Wars are not consistent through the ages - some of the most impressive constructions were of ancient origin. Destructive galactic conflicts and/or catastrophic events ruined many advances through the ages on the other hand.

Pre-Republic specialists believe that the Columi, the Gree, the Kwa, and the Sharu had a contact with a species known as the Celestials, or the Architects, beings of astonishing power and malleable form. The Columi retreated from the Stars after contact with the Celestials, and the Sharu sought refuge in primitivism. But the Gree, the Kwa and the Killiks became their servants, helping building astonishing technological projects - projects some scientists believe included the assembly of star systems and the engineering of the hyperspace anomalies west of the Deep Core, if not the barrier surrounding our galaxy.

But another slave species revolted, wresting control of the Celestials' domain some thirty thousand years ago and waging war against the Gree, Kwa, and the killiks. They were known as the Rakata, or the Builders, a species of bipeds with amphibian features whose technologies were powered by the Force.

From (Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare)

+

In the period after the mysterious Architects vanished from the galaxy millennia ago, several great civilizations rose in their place. The intellectual Columi species created a vast but peaceful empire, focusing on academic pursuits while droids and elaborate machines labored for them. As a result, the Columi evolved enormous craniums and tiny bodies.

The strange, reptilian Kwa, who achieved interstellar travel through Infinity Gates that allowed them to effectively teleport between worlds, rose and mysteriously fell, eventually devolving into simple lizards. The cephalopod Gree also reached their apex in this time, creating technological marvels that have rarely been equaled. Eventually, on the backs of these civilizations would come the Rakata and their Infinite Empire.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Codex entry titled "Galactic History 02: Ancient Civilizations.")

+

BY 30,000 BBY, Celestial influence had waned sufficiently to allow for a new galactic power at center stage. The Rakatans fanned out from Lehon with Force-based hyperdrives, and their vessels hop-scotched among worlds that possed strong Force-signatures. The Rakatan Infinite Empire encompassed points as distant Corellia, Honoghr, Generis, Hijara, Xo, and Dantooine, though vast tracts of territory between those remote holdings remained untouched. These gaps allowerd other insterstellar confederations to flourish on a smaller scale. Circa 27,000 BBY the Devaronians and the Gosams both experimented with the tumble hyperdrive, which allowed risky jumps of uncontrolled length and duration.

The Rakata fought bitterly against their major rivals, pushing the Gree back to their home cluster and all but exterminating Kwa. Dathomir became a possession of the Infinite Empire, with rancors transported back to Lehon as curiosities. The victorious Rakata proved to be manipulative and curel caretakers, enslaving humans, Duros, Selonians, and Drall for millennia and meddling with the ecosystems of worlds from Kashyyyk to Tatooine. After nearly five thousand years of dominance, the Rakatan Empire collapsed due to plague, which weakened their hold and permitted a colonial revolt in 25,200 BBY.

From (Star Wars: The Essential Atlas)

Tenebrae (VOICES) also created one incredibly advanced civilization while managing the already impressive reconstituted ancient Sith Empire:

To bring a society from oppressive tribalism into a glorious golden era requires significant funding. When Emperor Valkorion began his project, he funneled wealth from the Sith Empire into Zakuul, effectively robbing one empire to fund another. As Valkorion's grand society blossomed, the Eternal Empire turned its view outward, conquering planets and claiming their resources. By the time the Republic and Sith Empire fell, Zakuul had amassed the greatest fortune in the galaxy.

Much of it is channeled directly into Zakuul--expansion of the Eternal Fleet, lavish updates to the Spire, generous gifts to the citizens--but the Empire's treasure is so great, it couldn't possibly be spent entirely. The bulk now sits idle aboard the massive treasury called the Gilded Star, serving as a symbol of Zakuul's status--and a reminder of the Eternal Empire's power.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire: Codex entry titled "Zakuul.")

The Spire (or Zakuul Metropolis) was much ahead of any other Metropolis in development with seemingly impossible constructions and featured some of the tallest buildings ever witnessed:

Home to the Eternal Throne and defended by the Eternal Fleet, Zakuul has become the new superpower in the galaxy. An old civilization reshaped by Emperor Valkorion, Zakuul is technologically advanced, relying mainly on droid labor, with seemingly unlimited resources. All roads lead to the Spire, a sprawling metropolis built on the Endless Swamp. Valkorion's "golden city" symbolizes his victory over the Old Ways of Zakuul. A vertical labyrinth, the Spire is filled with countless neighborhoods, each with its own unique personality. The populace is primarily human, but as the Eternal Empire continues to grow, more aliens are welcomed into the fold.

The Eternal Throne was the tallest construction on this planet and one of the tallest of its kind throughout galactic history by extension.

However, The Spire suffered in the backdrop of the decline of The Eternal Empire circa 3628 BBY:

Independence from the fallen ruling family has done little to improve Zakuul’s prospects. The degree to which Zakuulan society relied on Valkorion and the Eternal Throne becomes more apparent day by day; the comforts and advancements of their daily lives were supported entirely by vast, automated systems--like the Eternal Fleet--plundering a constant wealth of resources from countless unheard-of worlds across Wild Space, with none of their people any the wiser. No one questioned the source of their Eternal Emperor’s bounty; they merely celebrated the apparent generosity with which he shared it.

Without their former support systems, Zakuul’s new government has attempted to establish diplomatic and economic ties with the Core Worlds; understandably, this has not been very successful. Few worlds have been eager to trade away more of their resources to the planet that demanded those same resources at the point of a knife so recently. As a result, the Zakuulans’ only support has ultimately come from a small consortium of corporate interests; it is my personal suspicion that many of these corporations are actually fronts for the Exchange criminal organization, though our agents’ investigations are still ongoing.

1.1. The Jedi Order was in decline in times of Master Yoda

"It is believed that the Jedi Knights have more skills and abilities than what is currently known. It was whispered that the Jedi could alter the structure of the universe, live beyond even death, and accomplish other miraculous feats. Now, however, these secrets, if they exist at all, await rediscovery ..." - Ood Bnar [before the Great Sith War]

From (Star Wars: The Tales of the Jedi Companion)

In ancient times, the Sith were a legion but they grew and fell over time because of galactic warfare coupled with the fact they were mired in treachery and the weak could overthrow the strong from time-to-time. More on this in the following blog.

The Sith Triumvirate was responsible for the First Jedi Purge in the period (3954 BBY - 3951 BBY) and a small number of survivors including Meetra Surik and Bastila Shan had to start from scratch - the resultant Jedi Order was shaped by lessons of the past and more vigilant than ever before although Tenebrae (VOICES) dispatched the Emperor's Wrath to assassinate promising Jedi time and again to make sure that the reconstituted ancient Sith Empire remains unchallenged until the time is right to commence the Great Galactic War.

Entire generations of the Sith Dark Council have passed under the watchful eyes of the Emperor's personal executioner, the grim Lord Scourge. As the feared "Emperor's Wrath," Scourge enforced his Master's will for more than three centuries. When a Jedi grew too powerful or a Sith too ambitious, Scourge eliminated the threat. Conspiracy theories held that Scourge was a title rather than a man, for even pureblooded Sith are mortal... However, the Dark Council knew the truth. There was only one Scourge, his life prolonged by Sith alchemy, and his battle prowess enhanced by the Emperor.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia)

The reconstituted ancient Sith Empire invaded KORRIBAN circa 3681 BBY - setting the stage for the Great Galactic War in the process in which the Empire was able to advance all the way to Core Worlds in time. The Jedi Order of the time was able to hold its own in numerous battles but was dealt a severe blow in the Sacking of Coruscant development. The massive Jedi Temple on CORUSCANT was total loss by extension.

1.1.1. SWTOR Reforms and Adaptations

Satele Shan became the Grand Master and rediscovered TYTHON through her meditations and the Jedi Order relocated to this planet to uncover its secrets as well as train a new generation of Jedi on it. TYTHON was not just another world but scarred by historical developments including Hundred-Year Darkness which spawned some of the most powerful Force-users including Karness Muur but was lost to history due to collapse of the hyperspace route touching it and some of the greatest secrets buried beneath the layers with it.

When the Jedi Temple was destroyed in the Sacking of Coruscant, the Jedi returned to their ancestral home to seek guidance from the Force and reclaim the ancient knowledge and wisdom that had been left by their ancestors. A new Jedi Temple was raised on the ruins of an ancient temple, and soon the Jedi Order began training a new generation of Padawans.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Encyclopedia)

Qualities such as 'aptitude in combat' and 'strength in the Force' are now prioritized above all else in the training regime adopted:

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Encyclopedia)

The Padawans must face the savage native Flesh Raiders, negotiate with the local Twi'lek settlers, and survive TYTHON's mysterious and dangerous ruins in the process. This was a marked shift from the earlier training regime that was confined to comforts of the Jedi Temple on CORUSCANT in large part much like in the days of Master Yoda.

Padawans must face the savage native Flesh Raiders, negotiate with the local Twi'lek settlers, and survive Tython's mysterious and dangerous ruins. Though the destruction of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant was a tragedy, training on their new home planet has helped equip the Jedi to face a galaxy at war.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Encyclopedia)

+

The new Padawans could stand as a beacon of light to cut through the shroud of darkness cast by the Empire's return.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Encyclopedia)

The new generation of Jedi who emerged from TYTHON was much better equipped to deal with all manner of external threats than ever before and helped turn the tide of the rekindled Galactic Warfare inflicting crushing blows to the Empire by and large and even to Tenebrae [VOICES] himself - these turn of events are apparent in the SWTOR vanilla stories. The powerful Dread Masters are also driven to defeat and some of the most dangerous entities to ever surface were taken care of in the mix. Unfortunately for the Jedi Order, the Revanites paved way for early recovery of Tenebrae [VOICES] and The Eternal Empire emerged from the shadows to strike at the Republic and the Empire circa 3637 BBY:

The Jedi sought de-centralization to cope with pressures of The Eternal Empire:

Information on the status and whereabouts of the Jedi is still difficult to come by. A token presence remains on Tython; they claim to be the last of their order, but frequent encounters with other Jedi across the galaxy suggest that this is patently untrue, and perhaps part of a larger effort to obscure the order’s current numbers.

If there is a functioning Jedi Council, they are entirely hidden. The most likely individual to be involved in renewed Jedi leadership, Satele Shan, appears to no longer have any connection to the order’s operations. Rumors suggest that she has begun to train her own crop of students in a hidden academy on Coruscant, but our agents were unable to confirm or disprove these rumors.

Based on the intelligence we’ve gathered, I believe the Jedi recognized the possibility of their order being destroyed by the Eternal Empire and chose to de-centralize themselves to better their chances of long-term survival. Elaborate conspiracies have never been a Jedi strong suit, so I suspect they are merely biding their time until circumstances call for them to unite once more. - Lana Beniko

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Jedi Under Siege: State of the Galaxy)

The Outlander - a veteran of the Great Galactic War - commenced a rebellion against The Eternal Empire by drawing support from multiple factions including the Jedi and Sith and became The Alliance Commander and took charge of The Eternal Empire and also exorcized himself from Tenebrae [Valkorion] in the process:

Valkorion has lived for millennia, using his dark mastery of the Force to assume many forms. His latest incarnation is Valkorion, the Immortal Emperor of the Eternal Empire. After ruling for centuries, he was struck down in an act of treachery engineered by his son, Arcann. But the Immortal Emperor could not be vanquished so easily. He evaded death by infiltrating the mind of the Outlander, his most powerful opponent. He now appears to the Outlander as an apparition, offering guidance and harsh lessons while carrying out a master plan that remains shrouded in secrecy.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Eternal Throne: Character Profiles: The Outlander)

+

"He spurs his son's bloodlust and ambition by setting him and the fleet loose on the galaxy (now that they're definitely in no state to resist the fleet's power or endanger Zakuul). He lures his new enemy into a trap and captures them. He arranges his own "death", whether by the player's hand or Arcann's, and invades the player's mind. Arcann and Vaylin do exactly what he expects, which is to generally muck up the galaxy and establish themselves as tyrants in need of overthrowing. And then he arranges and guides the player in doing just that, all the while laying the groundwork for dominating their mind at the moment of their victory and commanding a newly-reshaped galaxy as a heroic liberator - an all-new experience to try out. Too bad it didn't work out for him."

From (Charles Boyd, author and contributor to the SWTOR project)

Details in the following LINK.

The Eternal Empire suffered a significant setback circa 3628 BBY due to machinations of the conspiring Order of Zildrog with loss of the Gravestone and also The Eternal Fleet in the mix.

With the fall of the Eternal Empire, millions of Zakuulan armed forces were cast adrift, without a leader to command them or an empire to defend. Sana-Rae approached the Force-sensitive Knights of Zakuul and convinced many of them to join the newly forged Eternal Alliance. Meanwhile, Doctor Oggurobb tackled the Skytrooper problem. Under his supervision, Alliance engineers reprogrammed the Overwatch control center on Zakuul and converted the Skytrooper battle droids into loyal Alliance soldiers.

Tensions spiked as the Zakuulan forces flooded the Eternal Alliance ranks. Some feared being displaced by the new recruits, while others couldn't trust their former enemies. The xenophobic Alliance Captain Hym Jemuro even imprisoned the Skytroopers stationed aboard his capital ship in the cargo hold, claiming they were plotting a mutiny. Two days later, his ship suffered catastrophic damage while navigating the Kauron asteroid field. The Skytroopers escaped the cargo hold, repaired the ship's critical systems, and saved the crew. Since then, the Alliance has largely embraced their former enemies, much to the frustration of the disgraced Captain Jemuro.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Eternal Throne: Codex entry "Zakuulan Allies.")

In view of the decline of The Eternal Empire, the reconstituted ancient Sith Empire renewed its "onslaught."

War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire is inevitable. While the Alliance cannot stand alone, both factions are eager to secure our allegiance; given the tremendous skill of the individuals in our ranks, we are far more desirable as friends than enemies. This provides us with an opportunity for continued operations and influence over galactic affairs while retaining functional autonomy. - Lana Beniko

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Jedi Under Siege: State of the Galaxy)

The Republic focused on rebuilding the Jedi Order on the other hand:

With the Jedi Order scattered in the aftermath of the war against Zakuul, the Republic faces a key disadvantage in their war against the Sith Empire, whose Force users are more focused and united than in past conflicts. Eager to regain their lost allies, the Republic has formed Task Force Nova, a united civilian/military/Jedi effort to rebuild and revitalize the Jedi.

Given the importance of its mission, Task Force Nova has been granted top priority status and accelerated access to any resources necessary to locate and unite the unknown number of Jedi still in hiding across the galaxy, as well as any training efforts needed to prepare the next generation of Jedi to defend the Republic from its longtime foes.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Onslaught: Codex entry titled "Task Force Nova.")

It is unclear how long the next chapter of conflict between the Republic and the Empire will last (the archives are incomplete) but both Jedi and Sith will suffer much decline in the future.

1.1.2. THE DECLINE

"The Brotherhood of Darkness was nothing but a twisted perversion of the Jedi Order, a dark parody of the very thing we stood against." - Darth Bane

The Sith reached their lowest point in Lord Kaan's Brotherhood of Darkness circa 1010 BBY - the powerful and resourceful Sith Empires were all gone and the ancient sources of knowledge were all but lost to the Brotherhood at this point in time. More on this in the following blog.

The first great conflict between the Republic and the Sith Empire occurred when two hyperspace explorers stumbled on the Sith worlds, giving the Sith Lord Naga Sadow and his dark side warriors a direct invasion route into the Republic’s central worlds. This war resulted in the first destruction of the Sith Empire—but it was hardly the last. For the next four thousand years, skirmishes between the Republic and Sith grew into wars, with the scales always tilting toward one or the other, and peace never lasting. The galaxy was a place of almost constant strife: Sith armies against Republic armies; Force-using Sith Lords against Jedi Masters and Jedi Knights; and the dreaded nomadic mercenaries called Mandalorians bringing muscle and firepower wherever they stood to gain.

Then, a thousand years before A New Hope and the Battle of Yavin, the Jedi defeated the Sith at the Battle of Ruusan, decimating the so-called Brotherhood of Darkness that was the heart of the Sith Empire—and most of its power. One Sith Lord survived—Darth Bane—and his vision for the Sith differed from that of his predecessors. He instituted a new doctrine: No longer would the followers of the dark side build empires or amass great armies of Force-users. There would be only two Sith at a time: a Master and an apprentice. From that time on, the Sith remained in hiding, biding their time and plotting their revenge, while the rest of the galaxy enjoyed an unprecedented era of peace, so long and strong that the Republic eventually dismantled its standing armies.

But while the Republic seemed strong, its institutions had begun to rot. Greedy corporations sought profits above all else and a corrupt Senate did nothing to stop them, until the corporations reduced many planets to raw materials for factories and entire species became subjects for exploitation. Individual Jedi continued to defend the Republic’s citizens and obey the will of the Force, but the Jedi Order to which they answered grew increasingly out of touch. And a new Sith mastermind, Darth Sidious, at last saw a way to restore Sith domination over the galaxy and its inhabitants, and quietly worked to set in motion the revenge of the Sith …

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan)

The Jedi Order managed to rebuild the Jedi Temple on CORUSCANT at some point and reverted to its traditional training regime with Younglings and Padawans receiving formal training in comforts of the Jedi Temple and dealing with thugs outside and this trend continued till PT times. As the Jedi Order grew out of touch with mechanisms of Sith in times of peace, quality of the Jedi significantly dropped as well.

Not every Force power or talent is well known in all eras. Knowledge is gained and lost over time, and techniques that are common in Great Sith War are all but forgotten by the time of the Clone Wars.

From (Star Was Saga – The Jedi Academy Training Manual)

+

Pyramidal in shape, as opposed to the geodesic Jedi version, the holocrons were repositories of recorded knowledge, accessible only to those who were highly evolved in the use of the Force. Arcane writing inscribed on the holocrons Vader had fetched told Sidious that they had been recorded by Sith during the era of Darth Bane, some one thousand standard years earlier. Sidious didn't have to imagine the content of the devices, because his own Master, Darth Plagueis, had once allowed him access to the actual holocrons. The ones stored in the Temple archives room were nothing more than clever forgeries-Sith disinformation of a sort.

From (Star Wars: Rise of Darth Vader)

+

The Jedi slowly decline up to the point of the Clone Wars, but the sudden deaths of dozens of Jedi at the battle of Geonosis mark the first step in the rapid thinning of the Jedi ranks.

From (Star Wars Saga – The Clone Wars Campaign Guide)

The aforementioned information suggest that the Jedi used to be far more competent in SWTOR times than in PT times by and large. The long-standing assumption that the Jedi were at their finest in PT times is utterly misplaced. Master Yoda was an OUTLIER with only Master Mace Windu having comparable skills in PT times.

Among the other Jedi, perhaps only Mace Windu would have been his equal on neutral ground.

From (Star Wars: Yoda : Dark Rendezvous)

Anakin Skywalker was also better than most in his time:

Highly stubborn and emotional, he shows arrogance in his abilities as a pilot, with a lightsaber, and with the Force. Unlike other Jedi who display overconfidence in their abilities, Anakin is able to back up his boasts.

[1] Size estimation of the (high-rise) structure supporting the sector Sun Generator in The Spire (or Zakuul Metropolis).

Take a look at the following screenshot:

No Caption Provided

NOTE: The smallest arrow is pointing towards the following individuals; The Outlander (before becoming The Alliance Commander) and his ally Lord Lana Beniko. They look puny in comparison to the trees which also vary in height. The two trees on the LEFT are 7 standard floors in height and the two trees on the RIGHT are 11 standard floors in height.

No Caption Provided

NOTE: The visible part of the (high-rise) structure supporting the sector Sun Generator is 28 standard floors in height (building on the LEFT provide solid comparison with its window lights - some OFF and some ON). The smaller towering parts rising straight above the cone at 90% angle are 5 standard floors in height each. The larger towering parts next to them are not visible in this angle. The lower section of this (high-rise) structure is not visible in this angle either which seems to cover additional 28 standard floors in height from base to the very bottom of the visible part. Below is a screenshot from another angle which provide a good side view of this (high-rise) structure:

No Caption Provided

- before the explosion.

Same (high-rise) structure in all its glory before Vaylin [Chained] wrecked it with her telekinetic abilities:

No Caption Provided

NOTE: Concentrate on the top section of the (high-rise) structure supporting the sector Sun Generator and you will notice additional towering parts which are also visible in the first screenshot shared above - these parts are 15 standard floors in height each. The smaller towering parts are 5 standard floors in height each.

CONCLUSION

Putting the aforementioned into perspective from all possible angles, the (high-rise) structure supporting the sector Sun Generator is 60 standard floors in height from base to tip. A standard floor is 10 feet tall in reality and also in Star Wars. However, building architecture have countless variations in Star Wars and standard floors are not a common sight in games. The halls are typically multi-story tall inside countless buildings (i.e. a display of luxury and wealth).

[2] A closer look at the Iokath Purifier class droid and its capabilities.

In many technologically advanced societies, droids are designed to handle a multitude of mundane tasks. The organics who created Iokath embraced this idea, and built a wide variety of mechanical servants to nurture their artificial world. Custodian and compactor droids were created to preserve the parklands; scour swarm droids to clean the Chromium Garden; purifier droids to provide protection and security; and support droids to maintain and repair the entire system.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Eternal Throne: Codex entry titled "Droids of Iokath.")

Purifier class droids were designed to provide security with strong emphasis on their durability, combat-related intelligence, and Electronic Warfare (EW) capabilities.

The Purifier class droid which attacked Vaylin [Chained] was feigning dysfunction:

Upon detecting and distinguishing its target from others, it adopted sniping posture without drawing attention to itself:

And then:

Vaylin [Chained] could withstand blaster-shots however and proceeded to destroy this droid:

Even after being repeatedly slammed on the surface, the center mass of this droid remained intact and functional. It then made a judgement call:

"Critical damage. Mission incomplete. Updating ARIES base control." - Iokath Purifier class droid

"ARIES has a base? - Vaylin

The capabilities and durability of this droid impressed Vaylin [Chained] to the extent that she decided to put it to good use:

"Your GEMINIs function sub-optimally. SCORPIO's free will protocols impair their judgement." - Iokath Purifier class droid

"Tell me something I don't know." - Vaylin

"I can overwrite SCORPIO's programming. Restore them to default settings." - Iokath Purifier class droid

"Go on." - Vaylin

"GEMINI online. Awaiting orders." - GEMINI droid

"We're going to be friends." - Vaylin

Vaylin [Chained] then brought this droid to The Eternal Throne and commanded it to make The Eternal Fleet subservient to her:

"I need a fleet that obeys my command without question. Give it to me." - Vaylin

"Connecting to GEMINI frequency. Resetting all units to default programming." - Iokath Purifier class droid

"Reset complete. Awaiting input." - Iokath Purifier class droid

Vaylin [Chained] then conducted a test to verify claims of this droid:

"Vessel 9947, destroy Vessel 3265." - Vaylin

The test was a success, but Vaylin [Chained] decided to eliminate this droid:

No Caption Provided

- It being an even bigger threat than the already impressive GEMINI class to be studied and potentially duplicated, and the GEMINI class had been the source of much trouble earlier.

To shed further light on the sophistication of the GEMINI class:

GEMINI: Hive MindFor easier control, GEMINI droids operate through a single collective consciousness. An order issued from the Eternal Throne is not sent to an individual droid, but to the hive mind for assignment to the best-suited unit. While each droid retains a limited sense of individuality, she acts more like an appendage of a singular brain than an individual connected to a network.

GEMINI droids share thoughts, reactions, and instincts. Every GEMINI feels when one unit's pain receptors fire. A single GEMINI's destruction is experienced by the entire fleet. A droid's existence does not end with deactivation; its consciousness is absorbed into the hive mind for redistribution. If a new chassis isn't available, the consciousness remains in the hive mind, waiting. Unless every GEMINI unit is destroyed, the Eternal Fleet's squad of captains can exist indefinitely.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire: Codex entry titled " GEMINI: Hive Mind.")

SCORPIO - a GEMINI class droid - had this to say about the Czerka Corporation HK-55 class:

"Your lack of intelligence is insulting."

Description of HK-55 class for reference:

Unlike previous HK units, the HK-55 model was designed to be a loyal bodyguard, not an assassination droid. Created specifically to combat the Eternal Empire during Arcann's invasion of the Core Worlds, HK-55 was given to Lana Beniko, then head of Sith Intelligence, for her own protection. Although programmed with etiquette protocols to fit Imperial culture, HK-55 still has a few personality-matrix quirks, including an obsession with the term "meatbag" passed down from the HK-47 model. Despite his amiable disposition, it would be a mistake to think HK-55 a less proficient killer than his counterparts.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire: Codex entry titled " HK-55.")

Putting the aforementioned into perspective, following scaling-chain materialize:

The Spire (or Zakuul Metropolis) was/is one of the most impressive and advanced settlements to be witnessed throughout galactic history. Not only it featured some of the tallest buildings ever but the quality of construction was also outstanding. This location epitomized the sheer amount of wealth and technologies of The Eternal Empire created by Valkorion.

She had sufficient strength to pry open such a strong Blast Door with her Telekinetics.

With her serene and considerate manner, one might mistake Lana Beniko for a Jedi. She is, however, a Sith Lord of great wisdom and strength who has impressed many of her peers in a considerably short period of time with her keen insights into the nature of the Force.

Quality of materials used in constructions of The Spire

Official screenshot depicting Vaylin [Chained] utilizing a large chunk of metal as a SHIELD while being subjected to heavy firepower by a Starship piloted by Koth Vortena:

Koth Vortena is a former captain in the Zakuulan military who defected with his crew when he was ordered to kill civilians. While on the run from Zakuul Knights, he met Lana Beniko, and the two began plotting to dethrone Emperor Arcann. With Lana's prowess as a Sith Lord and Koth's skills in the pilot seat, the two became a formidable thorn in the Eternal Empire's side--eventually breaking out the legendary Outlander accused of assassinating Valkorion.

Vaylin [Chained] effortlessly ripped that chunk of metal from its foundation for the needful earlier:

A large bridge that Vaylin [Chained] effortlessly destroyed earlier was made up of the same class of metal:

These minute observations suggest that the act of destroying a construction in The Spire would be a much more challenging experience than the act of destroying a construction in one of the Metropolis of the Republic such as in Coruscant, Corellia, Nar Shaddaa, and Taris due to substantial difference in strength of constructions in The Spire relative to others.

Vaylin [Chained] can/could snap the neck of Master Qui-Gon Jinn on the spot in a hypothetical encounter much like she did to a Knight of Zakuul before reaching the Blast Door; there won't be a need to have a duel with him. By extension, Vaylin [Chained] could ragdoll the likes of Darth Maul much like Palpatine.

[4] The legendary Jedi Knight (alias Hero of Tython) - an overview of his exploits before becoming The Outlander.

“You are our greatest warrior… and our best hope." - Satele Shan

This Jedi represented the very best of the Jedi Order in his time with his exploits by outdueling Lord Praven who was particularly renowned for defeating Jedi Master Usma (one of the finest swordsmen in the history of the Jedi Order) in an 'epic' duel [4a] and stalemating the Emperor's Wrath Lord Scourge who slaughtered many Jedi and Sith and could see Shatterpoints in addition to being one of the finest swordsmen in the history of Sith [4b].

For [4a]:

During the Sacking of Coruscant, Lord Praven killed Master Usma--one of the Jedi's most famous duelists--in an epic battle.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Codex entry titled "Lord Praven (Knight)").

For [4b]:

Scourge was an expert swordsman; at the Academy even the instructors had been reluctant to face him in the training ring. When the dark side flowed through him, his blade was more than a weapon. It became an extension of his will.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan)

+

As the Sith Emperor's personal executioner, the grimly fatalistic Lord Scourge has personally killed more than a hundred Jedi – and ten times as many Sith. Even the most powerful members of the Dark Council avoid offending the man bearing the title "the Emperor’s Wrath."

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Encyclopedia)

+

Lord Scourge has dutifully served the Empire for over three hundred years, his life unnaturally prolonged by perverse technology and his master's dark side powers. Centuries spent watching his fellow Sith Lords rise and fall has given Lord Scourge a unique perspective on people. He can analyze someone's flaws after only brief observation, and freely shares his perceptions (whether they're wanted or not).

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Codex entry titled "Lord Scourge (Knight).")

+

He possesses an uncanny ability to analyze those around him to discover their weaknesses, and use that knowledge to his advantage.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Companion Character Profile)

The Emperor's Wrath Lord Scourge had the opportunity to work with both Revan and Meetra Surik centuries earlier and was convinced that the legendary Jedi Knight (alias Hero of Tython) was the same man whom he had foreseen in his visions and recognized him as "the Jedi's finest."

"You are the Jedi's finest." - Lord Scourge (the first Emperor's Wrath)

The legendary Jedi Knight (alias Hero of Tython) fought and struck down some of the most powerful Sith in history including Darth Angral [4c], Lord Fulminis [4d], and even a Voice of The Sith Emperor (one of the masks of Valkorion) inside the Dark Temple on Dromund Kaas who in turn conjured Dopplegangers to confuse his enemy [4e]. The legendary Jedi Knight (alias Hero of Tython) was able to cut down dozens of the Imperial Guard while making his way to the Voice of The Sith Emperor. The Imperial Guard shared a powerful bond with Valkorion and could draw on his strength to defeat the Jedi and Sith who dared to cross their path.

For [4c]:

NOTE: Darth Angral was the chief architect and leading figure of the infamous Sacking of Coruscant and Darth Malgus was among the Sith Warriors taking orders from him for this mission and was reluctant to offend him in person at the time. For related information and details, please consider reading the novel Star Wars: The Old Republic: Deceived.

For [4d]:

Widely regarded as one of the greatest Sith sorcerers in the Empire, the enigmatic Lord Fulminiss is a master of the dark side's most arcane and lethal aspects. The grotesque Harrower assassins are his most famous creation, but legend has it he once summoned a raging storm of pure Force energy that disintegrated a rebellious city of natives in the Imperial-conquered Jabiim system.

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Codex entry titled "Lord Fulminiss (Knight).")

For [4e]:

All said and done, the legendary Jedi Knight (alias Hero of Tython) comfortably qualify for recognition as one of the most powerful and skilled Jedi to ever exist:

<name> has become the Jedi Order's Battlemaster after saving the Republic from many nefarious plots by the evil Sith Emperor. On countless planets, this champion of the Force is all that stands between helpless innocents and the enemy's conquest. But a terrible new threat has emerged at the galaxy's farthest edge, forcing an unlikely alliance between <name> and old foes....

From (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire: Codex entry titled "The Jedi Knight.")

When The Eternal Empire emerged from the shadows to invade the Republic and the Empire circa 3637 BBY, it pushed the Jedi Order to de-centralize itself (see [a] above), and the legendary Jedi Knight (alias Hero of Tython) became The Outlander at some point:

Valkorion intervened to save his host; Vaylin [Unchained] was able to breach the shroud of his space-time manipulation - unbelievable display of power - shocking her opponents but Valkorion sapped her powers by triggering her Conditioning - a temporary setback to her.

Vaylin [Unchained] was even more powerful with the capacity to influence The Eternal Fleet as well as fight some of the most powerful Force-users on the ground all at the same time (The Alliance Commander + Arcann + Senya Tirall), and nearly overwhelmed this strike team but Valkorion helped turn the tide of this battle - see Battle of Odessen section in PART 1.

Putting all of the above into perspective, following scaling chain materialize:

Vaylin [Unchained] >> Vaylin [Chained] > The Alliance Commander (powers enhanced by Valkorion) >= Arcann >> The Outlander (The Asylum) > The legendary Jedi Knight (alias Hero of Tython) >= The Sith Emperor VOICE of Valkorion on Dromund Kaas while recovering >= Master Surro (possessed by Valkorion's immortal essence on Ziost)* >= Revan (Reborn) > The Emperor's Wrath Lord Scourge > Lord Fulminis (who wiped out a rebellious city of natives with an expression of Force Storm) >= Darth Angral >= Darth Malgus (Deceived) > Lana Beniko > Aryn Leener** >= Lord Praven >= Master Ven Zallow > Jedi Master Usma (one of the Jedi's most famous duelists) >= Master Qui-Gon Jinn.

NOTE # 1: Sheer gap between let's say Vaylin [Chained] and Master Gui-Gon Jinn is humongous - to the extent that the latter fall in her ONE-SHOT territory.

NOTE # 2: Characters sometimes have the luxury to establish a strike team to challenge a relatively much superior opponent to even the odds.

NOTE # 3: A large number of powerful Force-users fit somewhere between the legendary Jedi Knight (alias Hero of Tython) and Qui-Gon Jinn.

*This host tanked a powerful electrostatic weapon which overwhelmed other subjects, ragdolled other subjects, and easily overwhelmed Lana Beniko respectively.

**Aryn Leener respect thread for reference: LINK <- CLICK to check.

Master Jinn was one of the best but he was of the time when quality of the Jedi had dropped by much - see [2] in The Jedi Order was in decline in times of Master Yoda section above. This help explain why General Grievous was able to kill numerous Jedi in his time. Bounty hunter Jango Fett was of the same time and killed some of the Jedi with his bear hands (imagine this); even Master Coleman Trebor - a member of the Jedi High Council - fell to his blaster-shots from a close distance without much of a fight. Master Obi-Wan Kenobi could handle Jango Fett (Episode 2) and Master Mace Windu killed him in a battle (Episode 2). Many Jedi fell to droids in numerous battles, and the Clones when they turned on each (Order 66). Many could not handle Sith apprentices such as Asajj Ventress and Savage Opress, let alone a powerful Sith Lord such as Count Dooku.

Three Jedi Masters Qui-Gon Jinn, Plo Koon and Tholme manage to collapsed a large tunnel with combined effort:

Master Orgus Din was a veteran of the Great Galactic War and mentored the legendary Jedi Knight (alias Hero of Tython) on the planet. He fought Darth Angral twice and was killed by the Sith Lord in their last duel.

Some of the most powerful Jedi emerged in times of the Great Galactic War (3681 - 3653 BBY) including Gnost-Dural, Warren Sedoru, Belth Alusis, Tol Braga, Ven Zallow, Jun Seros, Orgus Din, Aryn Leener, Nomen Karr, Syo Bakarn, Master Wyellett, Jaric Kaedan, and Satele Shan, and this war put sufficient pressure on the Jedi Order to adopt a harsh training regime with emphasis on qualities such as 'aptitude in combat' and 'strength in the Force' to produce a new generation of Jedi in the SWTOR times (see [1] above), and this particular generation was able to handle elements of the sophisticated conventional armies of the Empire, battle-hardened Mandalorians, skilled bounty hunters, deadly cyborgs, and powerful Sith Lords in various environments. The same generation was able to address some of the greatest challenges to ever to materialize in the form of Lord Vivicar’s Plague, Children of the Emperor, the Dread Masters, and galaxy-threatening entities respectively – the Jedi Order was never tested to the same extent in a long long time.

Darth Maul and Count Dooku - each was a powerful Sith Lord capable of taking on and defeating most Jedi in PT times. Darth Maul demonstrated Telekinetics on the level of Lord Lana Beniko and Count Dooku demonstrated Telekinetics on the level of Aryn Leener in his greatest moments.

[5] Fighting a group of well-trained Force-users out in the open:

It is possible for an exceptionally powerful Force-user to overwhelm a strike team of relatively inferior Force-users standing in the way. All strike teams are not created equal however. Members of a strike team bring their respective strengths to bear against the opposing figure in theory; can work together to batter at the defenses of the opposing figure and can also prevent the opposing figure to cut each down in short order through timely interventions (i.e. help the other when one is caught). These matters are well-documented but beyond the scope of this blog as a theme. Fundamental objective of this part is to scale Vaylin [Chained] from some of the events which may help inform her accomplishments on Ord Mantell (see MASS DESTRUCTION section in PART 1).

When the trio of The Outlander, Lord Lana Beniko, and Senya Tirall (a Knight of Zakuul herself) were up against a group of opposing Knights of Zakuul and Skytroopers in a major battle taking place near The Gravestone out in the open, the trio was almost overwhelmed:

- but Valkorion could save them with his extraordinary Force powers. Perhaps his help was solicited and he did the needful. Otherwise, other allies join the battle and help rout these opponents.

When the battle was over, the aforementioned trio of Force-users still had the strength to do something significant:

"We can do this. Concentrate. Feel the Force as it ripples through you." - The Outlander

1. This was not a regular starship but the legendary Gravestone (an ancient superweapon cum battle station cum starship manufactured by the incredibly advanced ancient civilization Iokath long ago - the archives are incomplete). Its bulk was enormous for a starship of its length, and it was also one of the most durable vessels ever built. These realities suggest a vessel that would be much heavier in comparison to majority of starships equal in length, and would be more challenging to LIFT accordingly.

2. The Gravestone was stuck - its bottom section was beneath the surface - and unable to move under these circumstances. Since it was stuck in this region for so long and forgotten, it was unclear how well its engines would function - the entire vessel necessitated maintenance checks which would happen on The Asylum. The aforementioned trio of Force-users had no choice but to LIFT the entire vessel from beneath the surface under these circumstances - this is even more tedious than LIFTING the same from above the surface. All said and done, this feat is equivalent to LIFTING a much longer starship of let's say Republic in origin from above the surface.

Let us consider some starships for scaling:

This view show The Outlander and Senya Tirall walking on the right wing of a Bomber-type starship.

This view show the Gravestone docked on The Asylum for maintenance checks and desired improvements, and a Striker-type starship is passing by.

This view show the same Striker-type starship parked very close to the relatively larger Bomber-type starship which is parked inside the docking bay of the Gravestone (the docking bay doors are semi-open). Two Skytroopers are racing towards said hanger, and Senya Tirall is standing beneath the Bomber-type starship.

This view show the Gravestone taking off from The Asylum. The Bomber-type starship parked inside the docking bay is also visible (the docking bay is still open). As you can see, the Gravestone have enormous bulk. Humans are like insignificant dots in comparison.

Further scaling:

No Caption Provided

The starships are scaled on the basis of available information with emphasis on accuracy - the Gravestone is 390 meters long with gross mass matching the Interdictor-class Cruiser that was witnessed in times of the Jedi Civil War.

[5a] This one feat disclose enormous capacity for Telekinetics in The Outlander, Senya Tirall and Lord Lana Beniko respectively. It can be assumed that The Outlander contributed more to the LIFT than the other two because he was the one to lead them in this matter ("We can do this. Concentrate. Feel the Force as it ripples through you.") - this still leaves either of the two with enormous capacity for Telekinetics in person. And each becomes more powerful in the ways of the Force afterwards. The Outlander reached another level entirely after becoming The Alliance Commander and his subsequent evolution on Odessen (i.e. strength and capacity to use the Force enhanced by Valkorion and The Alliance Commander adopted a new perspective for using the Force under co-tutelage of Darth Marr and Satele Shan in addition - see [4] above), all to confront and tackle Arcann for the second time. By now, it is increasingly apparent how strong Arcann was in person, and Vaylin [Chained] was even stronger.

Vaylin [Chained]'s battle-applicable exploits on Ord Mantell at a glance:

With the rising flames, Senya finally witnessed the true carnage Vaylin had unleashed on the camp: dozens of Knights – bodies mutilated and mangled – had been tossed haphazardly amongst the scattered wreckage of ships and shuttles torn asunder. The full breadth of the slaughter sent a chill down her back; grim evidence of the horrors her daughter was capable of.

Knights of Zakuul were able to disarm Vaylin [Chained] at some point in the course of the aforementioned battle but this did not prevent her from eliminating the entire force.

Compare the above with Count Dooku when he was up against 30 pirates out in the open:

But the fact remains: if he gets into a fight with thirty pirates - yes, he might kill fifteen of them - but he will be shot, and he will go down." - Dave Filoni

Count Dooku was absolutely reluctant to take his chances with 30 pirates out in the open without a Lightsaber due to the likelihood of being overwhelmed by them; forget about taking chances with dozens of well-trained Force-users out in the open at any point in time. For countless Force-users, potential battles were much easier to fight inside buildings and similar environments but challenging numerous powerful opponents out in the open was not a practical consideration. Few Force-users were capable of MASS DESTRUCTION out in the open - typically with enabling techniques such as exceedingly powerful expressions of Force Drain and/or Force Storm. Vaylin could accomplish much with her telekinetic abilities on the other hand.

Let us consider Count Dooku's feat of affecting starships of the original ancient Sith Empire (more like what remained of them) that were parked inside the hanger of an ancient temple on Korriban for further evaluation.

1. Korriban was a world strong in the dark side and Count Dooku would be more effective there - a consideration that is reinforced by his exploits on Vjun (another world strong in the dark side) where he proved to be more of a threat to Master Yoda than on Geonosis.

2. The starships parked inside the hanger were really old - used by Sith in times of the Great Hyperspace War or earlier - and were in really bad condition in PT times:

Obi-Wan ran into the darkness. He could not risk a light, not even his lightsaber. The darkness seemed to invade his lungs, making it hard for him to breathe. He scrambled over fallen blocks of stone, engine parts, the shreds of machines and the skeletons of vehicles. It was difficult to keep his footing but he made no sound.

From (Star Wars: Jedi Quest: The Final Showdown)

Further indication:

He needn't have worried. Whoever the Sith was, he knew exactly where Anakin was, for, to Obi-Wan's horror, his apprentice was suddenly lifted like a doll and flung into the air. Anakin's body slammed into the wreck of a cruiser. He fell to the ground.

From (Star Wars: Jedi Quest: The Final Showdown)

Futher indication:

They were nearing the end of the hangar. He sensed it rather than saw it. The corroded vehicles were more numerous now, lined up like dark, giant phantoms.

From (Star Wars: Jedi Quest: The Final Showdown)

3. Count Dooku affected each corroded starship in one-by-one format - he flipped one corroded starship over, then Force-pushed another corroded starship, and then Force-pushed another much larger yet corroded starship into the wall while attempting to crush the Jedi beneath the resulting wreckage:

Like phantoms..

Phantoms that move...

Obi-Wan wrenched his gaze away. He could have sworn the ancient ships were moving.

Then he knew.

"This way!" he yelled, as the first vehicle suddenly flipped over. It would have crushed them if Obi-Wan hadn't dashed to the side with Anakin on his heels. He flattened himself against the wall as another vehicle moved, its jagged wing a lethal weapon, capable of slicing them to ribbons. A cruiser suddenly zoomed toward the wall, straight at them.

"Drop!" Anakin and Obi-Wan hit the floor, hugging the stones as the cruiser passed over them and smashed into the wall.

Vehicle parts began to fall like rain. The crashes were deafening. They leaped, twisted, and dived to avoid them, using the Force to deflect them when they could. Finally they came to rest in the shadow of one of the giant statues. Obi-Wan leaned against a clawed foot and squinted into the darkness.

He could not see the Sith, but he felt the Sith's amusement, his triumph.

The vehicles now smashed into one another, creating a solid mass of screaming metal, effectively blocking them from the front of the hangar.

Anakin ran to the mountain of metal and tried to climb over it. Obi-Wan felt the dark side rise in a crest and then fall, leaving a vacuum behind.

"It's no use," he told Anakin. "The Sith is gone."

From (Star Wars: Jedi Quest: The Final Showdown)

NOTE: The last one to be Force-pushed is claimed to be a cruiser towering above the Jedi but this is subjective description because many starships would quality for these terms and they are much smaller than the Cruiser-types observed in times of the Jedi Civil War and later. Throughout history, starship classes were revisited in terms of gross mass and more. What could be deemed a Cruiser-type in times of the Great Hyperspace War or earlier, would be a much smaller starship in comparison to a Cruiser-type in SWTOR times and vice versa.

Putting the aforementioned into context, Count Dooku's feat on Korriban represents his one of the best application of Telekinesis in the lore but it is topped by showings of similar kind from some Force-users before their respective primes (see [5a] above) - Tulak Hord, Exar Kun, Darth Nihilus, and Palpatine are also stated to have affected a very large starship with telekinetics at one point in their lives. Secondly, it is clearly established that Count Dooku had significant limits while engaging skilled opponents out in the open - that he coud not defeat 30 pirates without a Lightsaber in his hand, and any pirate is a mook to a well-trained Force-user in person. INB4 some try to argue over this - Darth Traya dropped multiple Sith Assassins (Force-users) without even lifting a finger on Malachor V, and the Jedi Exile Meetra Surik was able to cope with her vast Telekinetics in a duel fought on the same world a while later. Although the Knights of Zakuul varied in strength and abilities amongst themselves, many were better than numerous Jedi and Sith in SWTOR times in person - a period in which the Jedi Order had peaked across-the-board to cope with some of the greatest challenges ever to materialize (see [1] in The Jedi Order was in decline in times of Master Yoda section, and [4] of this section above). About a dozen Knights of Zakuul came very close to overwhelming the trio of The Outlander, Lord Lana Beniko, and Senya Tirall in a battle near the Gravestone - each of them a powerhouse and having the capacity to replicate feats of Count Dooku with relative ease at the time. Each became more powerful afterwards and The Outlander approached another level in comparison to all but Arcann and Vaylin (see [5a] above). From any perspective, Count Dooku is topped by a significant margin.
