@lady_grimm: @the_reality_sage: I just got back from a convention so I'll have to post tomorrow. Just a heads up that my post might go up after the 3 days mark but, not by much.

@kurt_saulenne: Heads up for next time. You should post in the OOC is you have a reason for not posting within 3 days so that they know and you won't get DQ'd.

@gwen_temi: Well you can do non cannon interactions with people but those very rarely happen because they only allow for temporary character development. Also yeah the whole good or bad thing does happen but, thats because you never know how someone is going to react. I could go through and tear apart new users bios and posts and give them good criticism of how to improve those but, people tend to get upset when you do that. The best thing to do is to just ask someone for advice and tell them to be as critical as possible.

Also nobody cares about how strong a character's bio says they are because alot of characters never get used. YOu have to prove yourself through interactions and stuff if you want to get that appreciation. I have to go but, if you want I'll shoot you a long and complex PM with a bunch of the stuff I've learned throughout my time here and how you can improve to get that recognition. I don't mind helping people improve considering it saves everyone headaches down the road.

@gwen_temi: The difference between writing in general and writing on a forum is the nuances and the ways things are supposed to happen. This also varies from forum to forum. The reason people throw time around is because after a certain period of time you start to understand the way this forum works. Like your character creation Idea, that wasn't a bad idea but, on this forum it would never work because making your own character is such a personal experience.

Also it's very rare that a new writer or user comes in that is good, they are the unicorns of the vine. That inferiority comes not only from the inexperience that most of them have but also they never fully comprehend the rules and it takes a long time for them to. That comes from the stigma of not really calling someone out(mainly because this breeds OOC drama so it's just better to sell the hell out of them so they understand what they did was bad. Despite how crazy that sounds it really works.)

The lack of acknowledging taking a hit is a new User thing that comes from not understanding the rules. While it's okay for your character to not get hit it should only happen when their powers allow and the attack should still be sold in a way that makes it seem like an attack. This also comes from people not wanting to die which is an accepted thing to allow on the forum as long as you don't do it an keep fighting.

Establishing levels like that restricts interaction and hurts character development. It basically forces everyone into groups and that isn't what the vine is about.
