@buildhare: Good stuff so far. Wish I had more time to devote to this than I do. I will go over your points then bring up some other feats for Sunny that may make you reconsider your stance on this fight.

I'm not going to focus on every little point as I can see from your post Ozy is strong, fast, skilled, and a worthy opponent for Sunny here. But some things stand out to me.

Counters

In the moments following the throw he crosses the entire space of the room, reaching Comedian before he can discharge his weapon.

While his fight with the comedian is impressive, this feat isn't really that great. We get to see the Comedian throw a coffee cup at him then he somersaults over the table grabbing the gun and turning around before even going to aim.

This leaves plenty of time here for Ozy to move and close the gap so it's not really that great of a reaction feat considering the Comedian was moving and we never know what Ozy was doing off screen.

Easily throws the Comedian the length of the apartment.

I think this is an ok feat but there is a big difference in hitting an opponent that length and throwing them. It takes much greater force to hit a object and send it flying that it does to pick it up and throw it.

Judging by how far he throws the Comedian (Both here and when he tosses him out the window) he is defiantly strong but I am not sure which requires more force. I would say it is a bigger judging of striking force to hit a man and send him flying than to pick a man up and throw him.

Basically, Sunny has greater striking strength than Ozy from what I have seen so far. They are about the same physically also. I will elaborate more on this.

.Throws the Comedian with enough force to shatter the large window and onto the street below. Assuming the High Rises in Watchmen have the same type of glass as ours breaking the window is in itself an impressive feat of strength.

Keep in mind....this is a movie. While it is impressive, it should be taken with a grain of salt considering people are thrown out of windows all the time and we cannot verify if that glass is equal to glass from the real world. Regardless, it is a good showing so I won't discredit it too much just want to point out that something like that happens in nearly every action/super hero movie.

Some takeaways I noticed here:

Ozymandias was skilled enough to avoid every single attack Comedian could muster, as well as countering his attacks and targeting weak points. He is more skilled.

He actually was hit briefly by the Comedian in the beginning of the fight. It should also be noted that the Comedian, having never seen the movie, looked to be ready for bed and was clearly unprepared to be engaging in combat here. Just about as much as Sunny was hit by the leader of the last clip, merely once or twice.

You'll see why Sunny was holding back in that initial clip as well here shortly.

They don't attack him at the same time or with any coordination, they surround him and file in in typical mook fashion.

There was some coordination in their assault. Mainly just showed that video to show Sunny's grappling skills.

Not only reacts too, but catches the Cleaver thrown from close proximity.

Sunny can do the same thing to a much larger weapon from an opponent he didn't know was there.

Expansion- The Fight

What we have seen so far:

Sunny- Skilled; Easily able to break limbs through grappling and handle multiple opponents with ease and strong enough to kick them flying into trees or through the air for at least 5-10 feet

Let me expand on how great of a fighter Sunny is here and show you his main advantage in this fight.

  • Crossing the room near instantly and dodging/catching thrown projectiles, Ozymandias is significantly faster.

You claim Ozy to be faster but really I don't see it. Sure.....he moved out of the way of a cup of coffee, caught a ax, and moved across a living room before a guy could flip, turn and shoot at him.

None of this shows any great speed feats. Though, Sunny doesn't have much here either. In a world without guns, it is hard to gauge how fast Sunny actually moves.

One thing is certain, Sunny is more agile

"Why do you say this Roland?" Well....I already showed you him flipping in typical martial arts fashion but Sunny actually has enhanced agility and is able to run on walls and move in ways normal humans just cannot. Here is a great example:

Loading Video...

Here is a short scene showing Sunny go up against Angelica, a "Butterfly" for the widow. Now, a Butterfly is similar to a Clipper....enhanced humans who are great at fighting and kill for their baron. While this is more of a chase scene more than a fight, it shows Sunny's great agility.

From the video, Sunny easily runs on walls here and out maneuvers someone who is already enhanced and is a great climber in her own right. She knows she stands no chance against Sunny.....so she kills herself.

You'll see plenty more of this agility in the upcoming scenes so I don't need to highlight it more than needed....but it is clear...

Sunny is more agile.

The Real Reasons Sunny Wins Is.......

We could sit here all day and argue who is faster, stronger, more skilled, more durable.....but I want to get into each advantage and show you why Sunny will win. ...

So far I have shown you Sunny fighting but I have yet to unveil his best assets.

His weapons.

Sunny is a master in hand to hand combat and should be able to hold his own against Ozy but with his weapons I believe he will be able to win this fight. He is a master swordsman and is able to fight numerous opponents with his blades.

Here we she another scene of Sunny fighting some of Widow's Clippers. Now remember folks, Clippers aren't ordinary men and are all enhanced physically, martially, and mentally to be the best at killing.

Sunny fights four of them here and shows off just how skilled he is with a sword. To BuildHare: They do attack together here =)

Sunny blocks 4 attacks coming at the same time. Remember these are clippers who are enhanced physically and are masters of fighting.

Here we see some more great striking feats from Sunny, able to completely floor men and send them flying with kicks. Also a great showing for agility which you see throughout this entire fight scene and the series itself.

No Caption Provided

Here we see a great example of just how far Sunny sends people with his strikes. In this scene, you see a man who Sunny just killed get kicked with enough force to fly through the air hitting another man which in turn sends him flying back a couple feet. I think these striking feats speak for themselves.

No Caption Provided

Just want to highlight exactly what happens here in case some of you missed it. Sunny slides under his attacker, uses his other sword to flip his sword into his hand mid-slide, then turns and finishes off his attacker swiftly. A great showing of skill with his hands and swords throughout this whole scene.

Buildhare: So what.....4 on 1??? Not impressive at all. Ozy could take 100 men easily...

Ahhhh I see this may not be enough for my opponent. Good thing Sunny actually does this early in the series.

In this scene, Sunny is led into a trap set by the Widow to kill Sunny and Quinn's son, who is hanging above by a chain choking to death as Sunny single handily takes on this attack like a one man army.

No Caption Provided

Sunny is able to kick a box hard enough to knock 2 men out cold. More impressive striking feats.

No Caption Provided

Sunny blocks attacks from 4 men at once, kicking out all of them before they can react or overwhelm him.

No Caption Provided

Sunny easily cleaves a mans arm off with the flick of his wrist.

No Caption Provided

Blocks attacks from multiple opponents before overpowering and throwing them all back. Impressive strength feat here that should put him on par with Ozy in the least.

No Caption Provided

Using his agility and strength, Sunny kills 3 men with one swing of his sword. After he cuts them they all fly up into the air and backflip over from the force of his hit.

No Caption Provided

Is able to deflect a hatchet when thrown by the leader back into one of his own men.

No Caption Provided

Kicks a man hard enough to send him flying through a steel bar and crashing down into boxes.

No Caption Provided

Cuts threw a steel chain and saves the Quinn's son before he is strangled to death. Meaning he likely beat all of these men within 1-2 minutes and there was at least 60 of them.

Sunny's skills in the show only get better from here as the goes up against Dark Ones and Barons alike in the future episodes. Barons are more super-human in their own right and are beasts among men. Here is a fight between Quinn and the Widow just to show you how strong the Barons really are:

If you are thinking of skipping these videos....Don't. It shows just how powerful Barons are in the ITB Universe.

No Caption Provided

Here we see Quinn grabbing a sword thrust by the widow with his bare hand. Not 2 hands. Just one.

The rest of the fights show Barons capable of:

  • Enhanced strength (Able to knock men back by simply throwing knives into them or striking them once
  • Enhanced agility (Able to run on walls and maneuver around small spaces)
  • Very skilled fighters

It just so happens that Sunny actually ends up fighting the Widow later on in the series. It is one of my favorite fights and really showcases just how good of a fighter Sunny actually is.

Loading Video...

Here Sunny and the Widow engage in a battle. Sunny trying to capture the Widow while she is here to save her daughter from Quinn.

No Caption Provided

Sunny is able to knock away 2 daggers with ease from the Widow. These same daggers were sending men flying in early fights

No Caption Provided

Sunny drop kicks the Widow through a brick wall. Another impressive striking feat.

No Caption Provided

Able to perform 2 backflips in combat effectively. Just more great agility feats here.

This fight ends with Sunny pretty much untouched and the Widow, a top tier fighter in the Badlands, laying on the floor bleeding out. With his swords drawn, Sunny is a one man army and possibly the best fighter we have seen so far in the Badlands.

For those of you who are keeping up and noticed the kid blasting the prison door off it's hinges with what appeared to be the Force.....his name is MK. He is a Dark One. More details to come on them but for now I think that is enough.

The Rundown

  • Sunny is as skilled or more so than Ozymandias
  • Sunny has 2 swords which he is a master at wielding against the unarmed Ozymandias. This will prove a huge advantage in this fight.
  • Sunny is more agile than Ozymandias
  • Sunny has better striking feats than Ozymandias (Able to hit people sending them flying. Able to hit hard enough to knock his opponents through brick and steel)
  • Sunny is more durable (More on this in upcoming posts)

With his weapons, skill, and striking feats Sunny should be able to beat Ozymandias after a well fought battle. Lacking any weapons, Ozymandias will be hard pressed to fight someone of Sunny's skill level unarmed. I don't really think I need to show just how durable Sunny is....(Trust me....It takes a lot to put him down) until I see more from my opponent.

Flash takes him. He's come a long way with his powers and has regen that KIck-ass can't get past.

On top of that, if Flash decided to use a tornado or lightning bolt it would be over pretty quickly.

Morals- Off

Cyclops removes his visor and incinerates Daredevil.

With morals on I am not sure who would win though.
