My Favorite Marvel Ladies

These are my fave Marvel ladies, in no particular order, save for the order in which they popped into my head. Some are favorites because I admire them for one reason or another, others are favored because they intrigue me. I'm a bit random, so this list may be, too...

List items

  • OK, so Rogue IS my #1 favorite. You caught me... Perhaps I feel a kinship with her because my hair has natural white streaks in it, too... *shrugs* Whatever the case, she has been my fave since I started reading comics, back in the early 90s - before the cartoon (tho, I did like her in TAS, also).

  • <3 Carol! She's a freaking rock star! I would LOVE to see her in the Avengers movie... *crosses fingers, but isn't holding her breath...*

  • Hurry up and bring her back, already! It would make this fangirl happy to see her paired with Logan... :)

  • Ahh... UXM #303 was such a great issue - it was the first comic book to make me cry. It also got me interested in this Little Snowflake, prompting me to grab up specific back issues to learn more about her. I was SO full of Happy when Marvel brought her back! *glee*

  • <3 Kitty! We have the same first name (although, she spells hers differently) and same initials. Kitty was one of my earliest favorites - Lockheed, too!

  • SO HAPPY she's not dead anymore! Although, I do prefer Betsy in her British body, and I think it was a shame that she didn't retain it in the UXM Sisterhood arc... Rather, she COULDN'T because Dazzler fried her up nice and crispy-like.

    Pity...

  • Maddie intrigues me. While I loathe the whole clone-idea, Madelyne is clearly her own person - not at all a carbon copy of Jean. She was another character that sent me on a back issue shopping spree - I happily fell upon Inferno because of it, which tied in nicely to my Magik-infatuation. :)

  • One of the very few people who can touch Rogue without anything happening. I find this memory thief interesting, not just due to her powers, but mostly because of her friendship with Rogue. I would love it if she pops up again, and if someone could give her a name and a history... I'd buy it!

  • I would dearly love for Tangerine to get more panel time... I want to learn more about her, like her name, for starters... and more about her powers - and what all she can do. There is no need to revive her ginger 'fro from her first, alternate reality future appearance, though... LOL

  • Hope is intriguing... There is so much we don't know about her yet, but from what I have seen, I like her. :)

  • I stumbled upon Gosamyr when reading back issues of New Mutants in the late 90s. Her appearances were few, but I always got a kick out of her. It was funny how the guys would react to her, due to her powers. I think it'd be fun to see Gos again...

  • Jess is full of win.

  • Despite being crazy, Wanda is pretty amazing.

  • Maybe it's because when my mother was pregnant with me, she nicknamed me "Brunnhilde"... Or maybe it's because she's a hella-cool Asgardian warrior chick that I once based a D&D character on - an Aasimar Paladin - that I was quite fond of (also named Valkyrie)... Whatever the case, this chick rocks!

  • Oh, how I miss "Mohawk Storm"! She wore that black leather outfit and looked (and was) so bad ass! Now, she's gotten to be a boring, married lady. Ugh.

Please, ditch Black Panther and go retro with your look, Wind Rider! You used to be so cool!

  • Foster mother to my favorite Southern Belle, I couldn't help but read more about Mystique in my back issue hunts for Rogue. I grew interested in Raven and went on a hunt for her first appearance, which introduced me to Ms. Marvel long before Brian Reed brought her back to Marvel's limelight.

I find Mystique to be an interesting character. She's blue. She can look like anyone. She has been around for many, many years. She's of the Dark Side, which in my eyes is a good thing. Need I say more? *smirk*

  • Pixie is such a cutie! She has bubblegum-pink hair, faerie wings, and is talented with magic. She's spunky - and she's one of the few of the newer characters, from the younger generation, that I actually enjoy.

  • I have enjoyed Dazzler since I picked up some of her series' back issues that featured Rogue and the X-Men. Of course, I had to go back and pick up the rest of her series... I'm happy that she's returned to the team!

  • Ahh... Remember when Jubilee still had her powers? And when she first joined the X-Men in Australia? THAT was awesome. I miss that. Her loud mouth, her spunk... Jubes is fun! I'm not sure how I feel about the whole Vampire-thing, though...

  • Oh, I remember I was so bummed when Marvel killed Clarice in the Phalanx Covenant... And then, I was so happy to see the AoA Blink being published! Yay for the lavender-skinned teleporter!

  • How cool is this girl? She makes me hate Cyclops a little less...
