Friendly Fire... 0
Jaime has face many enemies in the last few days, but now he is forced to fight against the toughest one yet: his best friend Paco. After Brenda stops by to inform Jaime of Paco's disappearance Paco turns up on Jaime's doorstep and transforms into a Reach warrior like Jaime. The fight is amazing, with Ig's art really showing every punch, every blast with precise smoothness and coloring. But while there's one fight going on, there is another happening which was far better. Friends sometimes get i...

Rehash? What rehash? Me see no rehash. 0
This is by far the best issue of Blue Beetle yet. We start off where we last left off with a blade in Paco's chest, Jaime horrified what the scarab - and he - has done. Jaime uses all of his will to force the scarab to provide medical treatment for Paco to save his life. The scarab refuses but Jaime over powers it, which shocks the scarab that Jaime was able to do so.Afterwards, Jaime takes Silverback to an abandoned place to grill him for info on who he works for. It turns out that Silverback's...

Holy Epic! :o 0
WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERSIn the latest issue of Blue Beetle, we get our first look at Jaime's original rouge, Silverback of the Brotherhood of Evil in action. He is mean and will stop at nothing to get the scarab for his masters, going so far as to attack a gang's party which would usually be below their standards.Jaime and the scarab's relationship continues as we learn that part of it is still visible (Like in Batman: The Brave and the Bold). Jaime and the scarab agree that they have to learn...

Rise of the Blue Beetle 0
After a fantastic introduction we finally get to see Jaime in action with the armor, but h is not liking it as well as we are.The GoodI like how the scarab is translated for us so we can see it argue with Jaime as he tries to save Paco and such. Some people might prefer the original, cryptic writing but there is nothing wrong with it being translated, in fact, we get to see into the scarab's personality, which is a plus. We can already see the scarab is trying to fulfill its mission as a world c...

Oh... My... :D 5
THIS IS MY FAVORITE OF THE NEW 52 SO FAR AND I DOUBT IT CAN BE PASSED!!!Seriously, Blue Beetle is my favorite superhero and I was not disappointed one bit!The GoodWe start off with a brief history of the Reach and the involvement of the Green Lanterns and seeing the Reach in action was awesome! They were fierce warriors that conquered with ease and this makes me excited about their future with Jaime. We got to see Jaime's life with his friends Brenda and Paco and going through what a lot of skin...

The First Hero 0
It's a brand new day for superheroes as Superman is shown as a green hero in Metropolis and being new really gives his current uniform a strong effect. Seriously, do you expect everyone to be expert sewers and make costumes? No, so a T-shirt, some jeans, and boots are completely plausible at this point in Superman's life. And I believe his costume from the Pre-52 was made by his mom, and she and Pa Kent are dead as it has been revealed in spoilers released over the summer. With things like that ...

Justice: With a Dash of Everything. 2
After being introduced to the JLI in Justice League: Generation Lost, this was one of the books I was most excited for. And it didn't disappoint me. The Good This is a fresh start for the JLI so anyone can jump on board. Booster Gold Might have been chosen as leader because the U.N. thought they could control him but Batman knows better and supports Booster. And Booster doesn't disappoint. He immediately starts acting like a responsible leader, directing everybody on strategies and formations i...

From an ending... comes a new beginning 1
It's finally come to a close. For the past year we read about these heroes who risked it all to stop a madman when they were alone. This was a truly spectacular issue. A great end to this maxi series but it is not truly the end. In the coming months we can look forward to the new ongoing monthly series that revives the Justice League International. In this issue we saw Booster Gold have his showdown with Max Lord, mano a mano, or something like that. Meanwhile the JLI fought against OMAC PRIME w...

The End is Near 0
Here we are at the penultimate issue of JLGL. I'm sad that it's almost over. Every single issue has been a blast and now there's only one left, but I'm looking for ward to it. Now onto this issue. The GoodAll the action is amazing as the OMACS invade led by OMAC Prime, who has Max's voice. Max once again shows his evilness when he uses the JLA again for his goals. They must be really pissed by now. The OMAC Prime made me laugh when he lied that he'd agreed to fight in an unpopulated area. He's su...

Counterstrike 0
Blue Beetle awakens to find the team in joy over his impossible return, creeping him out a bit. After talking with his scarab he explains that it shattered the bullet before impact but the shock injured him to the point where the scarab had to insert enzymes into him to recover, putting his body in stasis, thus, the death-like state. Beetle explains what Max'd plans are while Max himself is putting them into action. The JLI are shocked that they were duped into helping Max get Checkmate and tha...

Darkest Before Dawn 0
The issue starts with Booster recounting all those who have died as a result of Max Lord's actions in JLGL, which is 1013 and Blue Beetle being 1014. I love how they show Booster's sorrow on how to tell Jaime's family that he's dead and that he wants to bring him home as Jaime and not Blue Beetle. We really see how tortured his character is at letting the Blue Beetle dying at Max's hands yet again. Meanwhile we see Ice and Captain Atom together as Captain Atom thinks of those who have died in th...

Death in the Family 0
After the the emotional cliffhanger last issue this picked up the comic well. AS he stands over Blue Beetle's body Max recalls his past and we learn how the master criminal came to be - even if he doesn't think that. Max went through something that's tough for kids, the lost of a parent, but what made him different was that his mother really screwed him up. She kept indoctrinating him about power and not playing by the rules until her death in the infamous destruction of Coast City tore him dow...
