This is a mockery of an Avengers book. Mark Waid should really pick things up because I am getting frustrated with his stories.

You do know this has many stories done by several writers and artists, right? I don't think blaming Mark Waid for a story he did not create makes sense. It'd be like blaming Stan Lee for Amazons Attack. If you wish to blame him for the one story in this annual he is writing, fine. But don't blame him for the works of others. And besides, what's wrong with taking things fun and silly once in a while?

Poor Miles, I sympathize greatly. Even up to the point to referencing relatives that have passed on to get their point across.

What the heck is with everyone and trashing Spider-Man's voice? I know this a comic book comment section but I thought we matured past the point of making fun of someone's voice. Besides, his voice is fine, sounds like Spider-Man should.

DC's certainly doing well with their crossovers, Marvel should pick up the pace. Maybe they should have their Marvel heroes team up with an up coming book from IDW called ROM. For some reason I think that might go well. XD But seriously, that needs to happen.

I'm probably the weird one is this comments section, because I couldn't help but focus on the "tries to gain acceptance from Peter Parker" part.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the Miles and 616 Peter met before and got along fine.

Yeah, but 8 months have passed since Secret Wars, and who knows how things have been with both trying to remake their place in the universe and whatever baggage comes along with it. Even close friends can get into disagreements about things over time, and so can they. We'll have to wait and see how things ended up during that 8 month gap, but at least they got that settled now.

Awesome to see Miles using his powers and anything else around him smartly, fighting back his own fear and freak outs in order to do the right thing. Good thing he has his family and friends to help him deal with it. Can't wait for more!

And on another note, who wants to bet the girl who outed him out for his skin color will end up important? Love interest? Future superhero? Maybe a future super villain for Miles? Place your bets, people!

@jonny_anonymous: Miles vemon blast can hurt Blackheart .Every Spider person POWER LEVEL is not the same.

Yes and they shouldn't. Again like I said, both Spider-Men together shouldn't be able to touch him. He is a god.

Perhaps Mile's venom blast is effective against demons. Think of it like the elements: fire beats grass, grass beats water, and water beats fire. It may be that Miles is well armed for dealing with things like Blackheart. Or maybe Blackheart just overreacted since he didn't expect to be hurt and fled to make sure he wasn't fighting something until he knew more about it. Either way, Blackheart may be more prepared the next time he comes around. But come on, Miles going up against the son of the devil with Captain America's shield - this is what comic books should be all about! XD

I use to read Miles Morales but as long as he's in the main universe I will no longer be picking up his book. Also what the heck is up with that art and why does he look so much older here?

Eight months have passed since the Secret Wars. That's why he looks older... because he is older. And due, come on, Miles is still Miles and BMB has said all of his stories still happened to him. Miles is worth it; only the address has changed, not the character.

Maybe but he still looks like his younger self in other comics.

Can't buy it. It's not so much because of the change it's because of the overflow flood of concept. There are simply too many Spiders around. Like I've said in the past being in another universe doesn't fix the problem but it at least gives it some room to breath.

I mainly blame that on artists working on the character for the first time and the main references are of when he was younger.
