My take on Punisher War Journal #15 0

Oh what a great, fun, action filled issue! I didn't buy the ease with which Frank took out one of the characters, but hey, suspension of disbelief and all that. Frank's synopsis of the situation at the story's start was pure Grade A Punisher. It doesn't get better than that and Fraction excels at the dry wit Frank's known for. You get a few touchy feely moments carried over from the start of the arc and an ending that makes me wonder if there's going to be a SPOILER Punisher/Ka-Zar team up. Krav...

My take on Punisher War Journal #14 0

The art in the last couple of issues has been appropriately over the top as established by Ariel Olivetti for this book, but i do miss his style. But on to the story.I said in my last review that Kraven came across as "puts the lotion on it's skin" creepy, and it really showed this issue. I'm not sure what's going through this guy's head, but its not pleasant. It's this under current of danger that grounds the humor of the book(the hot dog scene was great). The game is on, and Frank may be in ov...

My take on Punisher War Journal #13 0

A lot of people are down on this title, but i for one think it's great. It's not Watchmen, it's The Punisher in the MU using all sorts of zany gadgets and tricks to take out Super Villains.That's. Freakin'. Funny. Matt Fraction has kept tongue planted firmly in cheek during this book's run, even during Frank's reaction to Captain america's death, which i for one, thought was a damn good reaction. Punisher's an unbalanced individual who lives in a comic book world. His main title only plays on ha...

My take on Titans East Special 1

Ok, let's start at the beginning. Looking at the cover, seeing Power Boy, i groaned. BUT, i dove into the issue regardless. Writing-wise, The first half of the story, featuring the classic team, was great. The characterization was spot on, and the action moved well. Judd Winnick excels at small moments, so the former was no surprise, but the latter came as a nice surprise. If he can keep this up in the regular series it's going to be awesome. The segue from past to present was poignant in showin...
