As Stein was unconscious at the time, Stein acted as Ronnie's voice at the back of his mind. When Firestorm splits however, Stein cannot remember his time as Firestorm and will find himself in strange places with no memory of how he arrived. Resorting to alcoholism, Stein's drinking has serious effects on Firestorm when they fuse and Ronnie forced to reveal the truth to the professor which in turn helps Stein recollect himself and go easier on his conscious whilst becoming close friends with Ronnie...

Funding Multiplex & several others to combat Firestorm, Hewitt desires to leave tracks that'll draw Firestorm towards him to ignite a nuclear blast which Hewitt desires will bond him to Firestorm...

Sent by Hewitt to draw out Firestorm, Reilly was reminded of her past and now aids Firestorm against Hewitt as his partner...
