  • Key Points: Captain Atom leaves the military and clears his name, hoping to find fulfilment as a true superhero. Major Force is not arrested and Ultramax is sent to Stryker's Island. Part of this film takes place in the 60s, then just before Atom meets Martian Manhunter and then afterwards (Main portion of the film takes part afterwards)

  • When Captain Nathaniel Adam of the United States air force is falsely accused of treason in 1968, he is given two options: Death or a test subject in a new unusual experiment dubbed "Project Atom". Choosing the latter, he was told he'd be granted a presidential pardon if he survived. Led by Dr. Megala, Adam was placed into a closed chamber with an alien alloy. In order to test the durability of this alloy, a nuclear device would be exploded over it. With a very little chance of survival, Nathaniel Adam was projected into the future to 2018. Realising the alloy has now bonded to him, Nathaniel gained immense powers fuelled by the Quantum Field and had a sleek silvery skin. Still held accountable for his actions however, Nathaniel is found by the military and made to be a loyal soldier for the United States - A state sponsored superhero. Nathaniel, now dubbed Captain Atom, must adjust to time in the modern age and come to terms with his lost life...

  • After Nathaniel Adam went missing, the military decided to start the Project Atom Program once again. Sergeant Clifford Zmeck was the test subject this time, being promised a presidential pardon for rape and murder. This time increasing the amount of metal used, Zmeck was projected to the future like Nathaniel, this time arriving one year later than Nathaniel. However, micro explosives had been implanted inside Zmeck's alloy, should he later go rouge. Now in 2018 and a state sponsored "hero" for the military called Major Force, Zmeck and Captain Atom become reluctant allies under the military. However, Zmeck abuses his role and becomes reckless with his powers, putting lives at stake and even murdering some criminals. The latter however gains him more favour with the corrupted leaders and he desires Captain Atom's place as the public's favourite hero and is willing to go to any means to get it, even if it means killing Nathaniel...

  • A criminal who accidentally killed his wife, Max Thrane was experimented on by Dr. Megala. Meant to be executed by electric chair, Thrane was granted great electrical powers instead. He now seeks revenge against Megala for preventing his death as he wanted to join his wife and be forgiven of his "sins"...

  • A high-level government operative and White Queen of Checkmate, Amanda Waller takes over from Wade Eiling in monitoring Major Force and Captain Atom. Waller is a ruthless leader who thinks monitoring metahumans is the best way forward in modern America. Her and Captain Atom's relationship is a reluctant one as Waller wants to keep him under her supervision. {Credits Scene} With Colonel Flag, Waller visits Eiling and tells him he can reduce his sentence for one little favour...

  • {Dies} A scientist for the US Air Force, Heinrich Megala was crippled by the radiation of an alien from whom he managed to gain a strange metal alloy. Later heading the Project Atom program with General Eiling, Nathaniel Adam and Cliff Zmeck are both presumed dead. When Captain Atom returns in the modern day, Megala helps him control his powers and learn about the Quantum Field which fuels him. His condition has considerably worsened and he reaches out to Nathaniel for help. His atomic energy managed to stop the disease but resulted in Megala losing his vision. Later fearing that General Eiling would break out of Belle Reve and find him for aiding Adam, Megala sets a plan in order in which the secrets of the Project Atom program would be leaked to the public when his heart stops. However, this proves to be a bluff once Megala dies of a heart attack whilst taken hostage by Ultramax. Despite his fear of Eiling, the general held great respect for the doctor and mourned him at Belle Reve. Inspired by Megala's idea about leaking the project and Martian Manhunter's advice, Captain Atom reveals the secrets of the program to the world which allows him to finally be free from the military's control...

  • General Wade Eiling was a part of Alec Rois' drug ring which would eventually lead to the framing of Nathaniel Adam. Eiling would head the "Project Atom Program" with Dr. Megala, hoping that Nathaniel would die from the experiment. Eiling later marries Nathaniel's wife and raises his children as his own. Upon the return of Nathaniel, Eiling is in his 80s but continues to work for the military and blackmails Captain Atom into becoming a state sponsored superhero - Also utilising his valuable contacts. He also uses Adam's children (Now adults) as leverage. However, Eiling is currently incarcerated in Belle Reve following his attack on Martian Manhunter and the Captain...

  • Margaret "Peggy" Adam is the daughter of Captain Atom, however she never actually met her father. Despite her stepfather trying to erase everything related to him, Peggy became obsessed with her dad. When he returns in the present, Peggy is actually older than the father she was obsessed with. Having never seen his daughter, Nathaniel Adam has to come to terms that the time he could've spent with her growing up is now lost...

  • The son of Captain Atom, Randy was raised by his stepfather Wade Eiling. Like his father and stepfather, he later joins the US Military

  • {Dies} A gifted CIA operate who specialised in advanced interrogations and mental manipulation, Alec Rois was part of a military drug ring under General Eiling. He would convince the young Rako to work for him as an assassin and had him frame Nathaniel Adam for the murder of a military leader who had found out about the ring. Later retiring from the CIA, Rois would later work for Lockleed Aircraft on weapon technology. Rois designs technology which allows him to phase through anything and decides to use this tech for his own ends. Fearing he'll steal Government secrets, Major Force and Captain Atom are made to bring Rois in. During the ensuing battle, Rois is savagely beaten to death by Major Force

  • {Dies} A young Cambodian refugee and survivor of a U.S. bombing raid during the Vietnam war, Rako was manipulated by Alec Rois who convinced him to perform hired killings for him and to protect his drug ring. Later framing Nathaniel Adam for one of the murders, The Cambodian (As he was known by his clients) disappears for many years. Later resurfacing at the return of Nathaniel Adam, The Cambodian is brutally murdered by Major Force despite surrendering and pleading for mercy...

  • Having lost his parents when they went on the mission to retrieve a mysterious metal alloy, Robert Long was taken into custody by Dr. Megala. He later becomes his bodyguard and personal carer

  • General Lane wants Waller to go to any means necessary to keep Captain Atom under their control no matter what as he was once close friends with Eiling, who served as a mentor to him

  • A colleague of Dr. Megala and Dr. Emery, Cyril Rathaway is the uncle of Hartley Rathaway and helps Captain Atom adjust to the modern age

  • Tom Emery is a colleague of Dr. Megala who is often looked down upon by the rest of the scientific community for his theories on the spectrum of colour

  • {Dies} The alien from which Captain Atom's alloy comes from

  • {Cameo} Colonel Richard Flag Jr. is a highly skilled soldier who currently serves under Amanda Waller for classified reasons
