ReVamp

I woke up at 4am today, last night I slept from 7am-13pm. Preaching to the choir, haha.

If you haven't heard of Big L, you need to do some listening.

and you post a lot of quality posts than you gain their respect see what i'm saying. If you have 100 quality posts chances are a lot of people haven't seen them opposed to 5000 quality posts.

I knwo exactly what you're saying and I agree with it. I'm just saying that just because you have 5k posts (which apparently, by some absurd standard, is little) it doesn't detract anything from you as a user. If you're consistent somewhat, by then you'd already have amassed enough posts that - if enough quality in them - people would respect you. Thus it depends on the quality just as much as the quantity. Of course in your scenario if you can keep both those up, then you'd earn this "respect" (which in itself is a bit arbitrary, but whatever) a lot easier, but very few people do so.

In fact, from what I've seen, very few users have 5000 quality posts. And the few that do, deserve the enormous respect I have for them because they keep both quality and quantity.

That said just having a massive quantity of posts, won't exactly lend you respect, it depends exactly on what your posts say. It may give you some credibility as a user and a mainstay of the sight, but it won't exactly make someone respect your opinion or less. Or well - it shouldn't.

Some people do, others don't. It really doesn't matter. Some of the people I used to respect the most were all below 1k posts. They knew their sh-t and were intelligent posters.

@saint_wildcard:

see the thing is I do a bit of both cas you have to admit when you have more posts people listen to you a bit more with your threads. I see newbies come here make a decent post and nobody answers cas they are new. People with 5-10 thousand posts get a lot more people to read what they write. That's just my opinion.

If you have someone who you've seen around and respect their knowledge of comics, then it entices you to their opinion on certain subjects even more. That doesn't mean others have less quality, you're just more likely to check out threads by people you know and see what they have to say.

You don't need 10k posts for that, I've seen people with a some few hundred posts get respect - especially in the Battle forums - if they're consistent. Of course if you're on the site a lot and regularly use it, then you're not going to stay in that posting number for that long and people with that consistently deliver quality aren't something you find that often.

"homework" *tired zombie noises*

"studying" *sad zombie noises*

"responsibilities" *disgusted zombie noises*

"internet" *happy zombie noises*

If there was such a thing as post of the week, this'd win.

@darling_luna: Thanks. I was a bit down just then, looking at all of the potential just flushed down the drain.
