@runekingthor98: Which is pretty much just Odin. Most of the other Skyfathers don't really do anything or have so few instances of showing up in Marvel to not even have feats. Everyone just tries to scale them to Odin and Zeus, which doesn't work when they don't do anything of their own.
We also can't judge them by what they can do when protected by their own domain. Sitting in their own heavenly domain makes them almost unbeatable. Thor has already shown us what happens when they don't have that protection. This was a big deal during the period Thor had restored the Asgardians on Earth because the Plane of Asgard had been destroyed/sealed, because they no longer had that protection going for them. So a dumb whizzing contest between some of them got one of them killed, and they were all shocked by this revelation that they aren't as immortal as they had been in Asgard.
It's no different than Mephisto trying to fight outside his domain. He's not nearly as strong and he's a lot more vulnerable. The same applies to Skyfathers and their domains. Odin is no exception to this rule. Odin rarely stepped out of Asgard and a few times that he did, he was wearing the Destroyer Armor for protection.
@runekingthor98: Thanos is stated as being stronger than Zuras, who is comparable to Zeus. So yes, Thanos could defeat Skyfathers and challenge others. Not all Skyfathers are the same level. Odin pretty much sits at the top of the chart and Thanos could still make him work for it.
Besides, Thor had already once beaten the Hindu Trinity by just tricking them into continuing the fight outside of their territory which meant they no longer had a home field advantage that made them unbeatable. So there are Skyfathers Thanos can beat with just his own abilities. And a Time-Traveling IG Thanos had informed his future self that Thanos will eventually sit among the Cosmic Hierarchy. So Thanos is planned on being up alongside Eternity and Death or possibly above them and under the Living Tribunal.
Thanos isn't overrated. Most of the time people who lack any knowledge of the character think he's a weakling without a plot-device like the IG or a Cosmic Cube and think Supes could solo him or that five people of Superman level could stomp him.
No, Thanos is not overrated. If anything he's underrated by people who wish to remain ignorant of what he's actually done and accomplished under his own power and using his brilliant intellect.
You want an overrated character, just throw a dart a board of Star Wars characters.
