I'm no Superman expert, but it's hard to imagine that DC would stray too far from the original blueprint, so I'm sure the Lois Lane romance is never far from the drawing board. However, I do think some of the old Superman tropes are a little tired so hopefully things stay relatively fresh.

If it makes you feel any better it is the first time Lois and Clark had a child. Which introduces amazing storytelling potential, new dynamics and keeps things fresh.

I'm not sure this does make me feel any better. Superman picking up groceries on the way home... Lois giving the baby bottles... Being woken up in the middle of the night with the baby crying... Lois bitching about Superman's pay packet...

Τhe kid is 10 years old...

As long as the kid gets to bed on time so Superman can get on with saving the planet then I guess that's ok. But seriously, yes I do see the point that there is a lot of potential for interesting stories with this.

I'd like to see more Geoff Johns stories. According to the creative teams he's not on any title apart from the DC Universe Rebirth Special #1 and Green Lanterns Rebirth #1. Why isn't he writing after that? He's my favourite DC writer after his work on New 52 Aquaman.

I think hitting the New 52 trade paperbacks are the way to go. You can get a (generally) excellent story arc from all of the main characters with great art at a reasonably manageable jumping in point. You would have to be pretty keen to start literally from issue 1 from the 1940s. And yes, they are corny as anything. Fun in short bursts, but very corny.

Like someone earlier mentioned, the book to pick up will largely depend on your personal tastes and what you're looking for. For instance, I love the underwater setting and the scope and potential of the ocean in Aquaman and the gothicism of the city in Batman, so those books happen to be my favourites.

Wonder Woman (although she could move up the list if I read a bit more)

Green Lantern

Flash

Cyborg

I was really impressed with a few things I've read and I think because of that I'll be following this whole 'Rebirth' thing quite closely.

For me the standout was Aquaman by Geoff Johns. I started reading because I was looking for something a bit lighter than the old Batman etc stuff and my expectations weren't particularly very high, and I ended up really love it. In fact, I think Aquaman is my favourite superhero at the moment believe it or not.

Wonder Woman was amazing. Very impressed. Again, enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.

Batman by Scott Snyder was good but I didn't find it as great as a lot of people make out. The whole Gotham covered in plants/jungle thing during the seemingly unending Zero Year didn't really impress me.

Green Lantern by Geoff Johns was also very good although I feel it got a little too epic towards the end of his run if that's possible. The fate of the universe etc. I just want space adventures.

Flash was ok I guess. I won't be reading it further.
